Well with the Creative Arts Emmy Awards (i.e. the fake Emmys) over and Neil Patrick Harris taking home two of the (fake) Emmys for the first time (one for his guest appearance on Glee and the other for hosting the Tonys) and god damn BETTY WHITE taking home (figuratively, since she wasn't actually there, the bitch) the female guest actress trophy for Saturday Night Live, the REAL Emmys are headed our way this Sunday!



edit: Oh, also John Lithgow won for Dexter and Ann-Margret won for Law & Order: SVU in the guest actors in drama series already.

MY PICS - This is hard for me because I know a lot of these and I like a lot of these, (not glee idk why its on here its not even a comedy) but I'm going to have to just say 30 Rock because whoever the hell votes for the Emmys has a collective boner for it so it wins every year. TBH I'd love to see Modern Family win. Also, VERY UPSET Community wasn't even nominated.

True Blood, Dexter, Mad Men, The Good Wife, Breaking Bad, Lost



MY PICKS - As much as I love True Blood, it is supernatural soap opera porn at its popcorniest, and Mad Men always wins... I still don't think LOST deserves an emmy for its really confusing plot and ending and dogs, but they might buck the trend just to give it a pity trophy in at least one category before it goes away forever. Far far away. Forever.





There's supporting cast members too but I am far too lazy to look up something else to plagiarize so let's talk about these bad boys!

PICKS - They're really padding these supporting roles with all the Modern Family actors, so it might even split the vote, so I suspect NPH might win this. Chris Colfer is Kurt (the gay kid) on Glee, and his acting's pretty campy so I don't think it's going to work. As for my personal favorite, I would probably have to go with Eric Stonestreet (Cameron), though I really like all of the people from Modern Family.

TIPS - I don't really have any doubt Jane Lynch is going to win this, she makes Glee worth watching and Glee is what Glee does. Again I think two Modern Family actresses on here is going to split the vote, but I loved Sofia Vergara's performances on Modern Family (and it doesn't hurt that she is smoking hot.)

PICKS - This is going to be another tough choice probably, lots of split votes for the same series. That being said, I'm going to probably go with Christina Hendricks on this one. I liked Archie Panjabi in what I've seen of The Good Wife, but I doubt she'll win. Also, fiery redhead.

Dexter (Michael C. Hall) takes the cake. He was so absolutely amazing in season 4.

I like Jack (LOST), but liking something doesn't even come close to how spectacular S4 of Dexter and thus Dexter himself were.

All the others don't come even close, though the guy from Breaking Bad does a good job too.



OUTSTANDING COMEDY SERIES:

Modern Family. No question.



OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES:

Dexter. S4 was just too spectacular, despite liking LOST so much.

However, I have a feeling they will give it to LOST just because it was so huge.



As for the other things I pretty much don't give a shit and most aren't even worth mentioning.)

Afaik Michael Giccamachio (or whatever his name is) ist nominated for the LOST soundtrack, which is absolutely fabulous. He deserves to win there.

And Terry O'Quinn (LOST) is probably nominated for best supporting actor. John Lithgow probably too. In any case, I'd go with John Lithgow on this one, his performance was stellar.

Glee is the golden child this year didn't you know? I'm surprised they did make a new award just to give it to them. (I hope they all die in a pit of fire. The only REAL comedy about the show is Jane Lynch and she didn't get nominated.)



I still can't understand why people like 30 Rock, I tried watching a few episodes and just about died from boredom.



The lack of love for NCIS is a crime, I love that show and it never gets any love at all, ever!



Oh and I hate the fact that pay for cable stations (and the regular cable stations) are in the mix with free TV, this is was makes me angry and never watch the Emmys to begin with. I hate you Showtime, HBO, Starz and any other cable station out there! Make your own awards if you want them so badly!

PQ, 30 Rock is well made with solid writing most of the time, I zipped through all 4 seasons in a matter of days. Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin really make the show as Liz Lemon and Jack Donaghy. And the NCIS..es? NCISi? ae? are snubbed because CBS is almost always snubbed at awards time. That being said, it's not really that well written, they're still pretty much procedural cop shows but with more kind-of quirky twists.

Good on Modern Family. That show is the glimmering bastion of quality to come out of ABC (and also The Middle, but MF is SO better). 30 Rock has become this rather distorted in-joke sitcom and while it's still a fantastic show, Modern Family is...more pure? It's in it's classical stage for a series and it's been good.



Woo Top Chef! Too bad they won't get it next year since TCDC sucks big ol' dick.



Wow, The Daily Show got a big-name Emmy. I know Colbert got a Creative Arts Shmemmy a while back too, no? Coolio.



Next year, should Kyra Sedgwick not get a big Emmy, they need to create a CA Emmy for "Most Squintiest Looking-Into-The-Sun With A Southern Accent and Also Hair Have." She looks funny.

Well, I was going to post the winners this morning since I figured no one else cared, and I actually fell asleep before I got to see the Emmys last night, so lol at that.



I wasn't too far off in my picks at least, Breaking Bad was the real dark horse it seems. I might need to pick it up some time.





SO happy that Modern Family won in the categories it did, it really really deserved it. And Jane Lynch winning is the only thing Glee deserved to win. I also figured LOST wouldn't get any pity wins for it being its last season. Only thing I was pretty wrong about was 30 Rock, seems like the enchantment is over. It's just as well, it's a funny show, like Nesh said, it's become almost a self-parody.



Also, some people say they're getting tired of Betty White this or NPH that, but I think they're just tired of life.
