I was hoping they wouldn't singing that Dekai song again. I loath that song and it feels like they sing it every year. I love Ghibli songs so this should be fun to watch. Wota reaction should be interesting. I wonder what everyone on 2ch (and the wotas) thinks of this?

Hmm, no mention of which AKB members. If it's the few old members that I care about then this will be something to look forward to, at least a little. There's so much idiotic ill will between the fandoms that I find the claim of "dream collaboration" to be amusing. I want some dancin' interaction. They'll probably just stand there and sorta sing at their microphones on opposite ends of the stage. It says Totoro and other Ghibli songs, but I don't think they'll merely trade off songs as a medley since 一挙大合唱 has gotta mean singing together, right?

woah this is kinda unexpected. I wonder as well if it's going to be lipsynched or not. It shouldn't! AKB has some girls that could pull off a great live performance (Takamina, Haruna, Acchan maybe, Yukirin, Yuka) and make this a really awesome performance.

So yeah, they did as I expected. For the Ghibli songs, just stood on opposite sides and sang together with a little girl in the middle. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... eeping.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> The little girl had a cute little solo, I guess. Ugh, and the camera kept showing goddamn Becky.



I guess there could be more later, since there's still 3 more hours in this segment of the 24-hour thing.

As nice as Ghibli songs are, that part was just boring. I mean, I'd listen to a cover CD of it by them, but I don't need to watch them stand there and look like they are doing karaoke (unless they were actually doing karaoke, that'd be more interesting). The second part was them all singing Dekkai Uchuu (sorry PQ). S/mileage also joined in the singing. And goddamn Becky. Ai ran over to the AKB side and a had a little cute idol smiley moment with Oshima Yuko. That's about the only mingling that happened besides everyone singing together.

And have the AKB girls been on all day? Because if they were they look dead tired of being there. They aren't putting much energy at all into their performance. It's like they don't need to try anymore.

And I'll give them the fact that Dekkai isn't their song, but the song's been around forever so it isn't like they/we :son: haven't heard it before and it isn't very complicated either so what's their problem?





Creapiest part is when they show the poor kid that can't do anymore but stare. Poor thing. D:

I dunno. Every time I watch an AKB performance a good chunk of the girls are slacking off on dancing and look like they want to go home. And having AKB sing their part after MM was a baaad idea. Even Morisanchuu sounded better than them. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> Though I don't understand why they had to collaborate if they're just going to have them stand on the side with MM dancing in center only singing during the chorus with their mics near-muted. I could barely hear them during the Ghibli thing either. Takahashi and Reina's voices stook out like a sore thumb.

Yeah, they have been hosts doing all sorts of segments last night and this morning (mostly looking sad at all the stories about kids with disabilities but they were dancing to some Michael Jackson medley with a whole bunch of people two minutes ago). But that doesn't mean this was live, I'm pretty sure last night I saw a clip of this performance in an advertisement. But it was tiny in the corner, so maybe it was something else.



But yeah, since they showed the marathon swimmer instead of the solo lines, the Takahashi and Oshima moment was the only interesting part. The director really screwed up on that one, they didn't even have a little box-in-box that Japanese TV loves.

Probably to show that they're on good terms and put a rest to the supposed feud. That failed.



Anway the whole thing was worse than I expected. I wanted to see a little more energy from them even though I'm that much of a fan. It's kinda a shame for the not singers (people in the blue) to upstage you.



Hopefully the next weird collab will be iDOLM@STER x H!P. I would like that very much.

There's no feud except between some of the members of the fanbases. Nobody ever thought the actually groups were feuding, right? And their managers/producers could care less about that. In fact they probably like a bit of fandom rivalry because it probably causes some irrational fans to buy 20 copies of a CD instead of 10. The only reason AKB joined in is because they are one of the hosts of the whole 24 hour thing, and they're joining in everything. It's just at this hour Morning Musume was there to do their annual Dekkai singing, and it gave NTV an opportunity to advertise it as a dream collab to get some extra viewers. Same reason Becky and those others in blue shirts joined in--they were just there.

It brings back memories seeing them performing Dekkai since it became the theme song for the 24 hour telethon the year I moved to Japan, and watching them perform on it back in 2001 when I was dropped into the middle of nowhere of Japan with just a donkey and a TV set with 4 channels where I fell in love with a crying Maki Goto and began my HP obsession.

Yuko is the only one who seems to be having any fun. Maybe she is trying harder than the others because she is the front girl now? Since she said she has been trying to be better at it. Mayu seems to be more smiley than the others too. AKB seems better in Ghibli, most of them are smiling at least half the time though. AKB must've been really tired because they look dead, like they don't care at all about being there, even their dancing is really off. I can't really say that they did awful if they've been hosting this show all night long, anyone would be tired. I don't know how long they were on for, but I don't think they tried their best, they could've done SO much better.



Oh! I really like the Arietty song! I can't wait to see that movie! But it was sad seeing that little disabled girl...

AKB's performance was really dissappointing. They put zero effort into it and it seemed like they hadn't practiced at all.



Even if they were tired and lacked practice, they should have at least tried to look alive a bit. Compare their facial expressions to the other hosts that had little sleep like Becky and Morisanchii. And since AKB interchanged member througout the marathon, lack of sleep is not that good an excuse. Only Yuko was professional about it.

Hate's a strong word, it's more not being lovey dovey with the idols, but seeing them as flawed and not perfect and being able to mock them without getting flamed to death and flaming those who get uptight about it.

Yeah I didn't think the "hate" was all that bad in here, with a few minor exceptions. The vitriol could certainly be worse. Not that there's much to really spew about since this was hardly a collaboration and them just being on the same stage at the same time with little to no interaction. Comparisons are going to be inevitable of course.



What I really want to see is some kind of death match in a mud wrestling ring, but with a handicap for AKB since there are so many more of them. Like they have to do it armless or something.
