I'm hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that they are releasing and translating their singles in a short time so that they can get japan more familiar with them THEN release a new song. Genie just came out and Gee is going to release in a month!? *keeps fingers crossed* I also want new material. I'm excited for the new mv though.

Doubt that. They're pretty huge at the moment and certainly want to take advantage of that. I'd say they'll have at least one more single after Gee in Japan.

I don't understand why the are singing with SUCH cutesy voices!! I think there was no need for that on this song... I like the Korean version way better. I also feel like they're trying less hard on the dance for some reason...

The PV looks good, though. It's exactly the same concept, only with more Minho and doll outfits... They all look really good.

Japanese Gee <<<<<<<<< Korean Gee

I vastly prefer the Korean versions of Gee, Genie, and Kara's Mister. My thoughts are that we heard it in Korean originally, so we got used to that version. This one is simply different from the one that we're used to. Wonder Girls' 2 Different Tears, on the other hand, came out simultaneously in English, Korean, and Chinese. I like all 3 about the same.



Along those same lines, SNSD's Japanese isn't that great. We're not Japanese, but we're used to Japanese girl pop, so it sounds strange to our ears because of that.

I think it definitely helps that I got used to the Korean versions of all those songs before hearing the Japanese ones (except Wonder Girls), but I do think they're also just plain better in Korean. Honestly it doesn't sound like Japanese half the time, just a made up language in the Japonic family.

Not really feeling the hook (if that's what that high bit is), but it does lack context, so it might be better in the actual song.

Looking at this picture, there's a girl outside the circle, who is wearing a skirt/dress and holding a gun. Out of the individual images only Yuri fits that profile (skirt+gun), but of course Seohyun (skirt+bow) might also qualify, and she's the one in white with a differing item. So my guess is that either Yuri or Seohyun are the focus of this single. That would definitely be cool!
