Oh come on everybody, how quickly you forget the shining talent that was Kusumi. She may not have been a soloist technically as she was in MM but she did release half-a-dozen solo records.

And as I said, I adore Mano, especially all her goofy Cyborg Shibata-esque comedies, and she's tolerable when she sings her own songs, but she absolutely massacred Momoiro Kataomoi during Fancora. Ayaya in her idol prime is still the pinnacle of post-80s idol singers.



I also don't think that Maki album is happening. Amazon Japan doesn't have anything listed beyond ONE and the 2001-2001 collection.

Got my copy of Hello Channel vol. 2 today and it's pretty good.



Highlights include:



-HP's 6 least athletic members battle to find out who the worst athlete is. You'd think it be Sayu, but the results were surprising. Yurina was the worst, followed by Junjun, Sayu, Kanon, Maimai, and finally Momoko as the best of HP's worst.



-S-mileage wearing outfits from classic HP PVs, with lots of MM, some Mini Moni, Tanpopo, and bonus Melon Kinen-Bi! Also, making Kanon wear Kago's outfits is evil, and I can't help but find Dawa in Mika's outfit from Lucky Cha-cha-cha ironic.



-The bedroom tours of the first volume continued with Miyabi (who is obsessed with troll asses), Maimai (who is obsessed with some penguin-looking Pokemon), Yuka (who likes teh mang0rz and teddy bears), and Junjun (who is obviously trying to bang Sayumi with her pink Hello Kitty pillow and matching bunny bed sheets).

Buono might not be dead? Supposedly a fanclub letter has announced an upcoming Winter 2011 tour for them. There is hope!

At first I wondered if they just have easier "access" to comedians. I feel like the Jpop world would not permit a girl idol group to fraternize with boy idols on tv too much. Hm....then again, that's not 100% true because Arashi alone have 109381029381 tv shows and they are constantly interviewing girl idols.

Rumours are beginning to surface that Buono! might have a new single come February, but the only source is 2ch and a post on Airi's Serend blog that says she's going into the studio; which could maybe be for a C-ute album (but this soon after Shocking 5 I don't think so).



Also found out why we can't find anything on Maki's second album:



Goto Maki's second mini album is titled Gloria. Bad news: it's been pushed back from 11/24 to 1/12. Her fans saw this coming when, barely a couple days ago, Maki's staff mailed that they were still recording the songs.



Apparently the entire album has been reworked. The original description talked about five cheerful songs but truth is the most immediate Maki release is the digital single (via Chaku Uta) Koi Hitoyo on 11/10 which is not exactly a cheerful song. The single was promoted on the TV show Shabekuri 007 where they showed a promotional pic.

That channel has existed for two years and I was never quite sure if it was official or not. There were two semi-cute videos of her that I hadn't seen elsewhere so I figured it was official in some way, but it wasn't advertised anywhere. S semio I thought the videos were just from some source I hadn't seen. The videos are still up, but they have been unlisted (probably because they're so old from her indie days).

Why should Buono leave a void, they are still going strong. Well maybe not in releases, but they have another tour this winter so I would assume they are going to have something new out for that.
