Buono's doing the tours to see if they can drum up enough of a fan support to release something that wont be associated with Shugo Chara. ;D (j/k)

I see their stuff on the H!P store for sale from the latest concerts, but I've been too poor to actually buy any of the visual books. :<

Yeah, they have a tour for Winter 2011. 2ch said they'd be having one, and everyone was like NOW NOW LET'S NOT GET YOUR HOPES UP.

It happens.

Then 2ch says there's gonna be a new single sometime soon and everyone's like DON'T GET YOUR HOPES UP 2CH ISN'T THAT RELIABLE.

2ch's seemingly been right about everything so far, so I'm listening to them.

Setlist for the new Berryz tour:

I'm disappointed Munasawagi Scarlet or Special Generation aren't on there though. I've really grown to love those songs.

Have Berryz ever even done a concert without Special Generation since it was released?

Reading the profiles that Berryz put up about themselves on their new blogs, I found it interesting that Momoko actually lists her profession as a college student and mentions college activities like the archery club. She's an evil little egomaniac that was born to be a star, but I'm quite impressed that she's getting her higher education on.

Note: She proudly lists herself as her favorite celebrity.

Momo is BK's Sayu, for sure.

In a related note, I found an interview in a magazine from when they went to Thailand. It was in English (I'm sure it was translated), and the question was "how would you describe your personality?"

Everyone gave the typical, I'm cheerful (Chinami), I'm nice (Momo), but Miya's...Miya's was special.

Her's said "I'm sexy."

I'll get the magazine later, but I just had to laugh at that. My love for her grows every day I swear.

That was the greatest video ever.

But can I ask a stupid question? What exactly does "VTR" stand for?

Video Tape Recording, I think?

In Japanese television it's basically used to refer to pre-recorded segments that they use to show on their various live and panel-driven shows. In the case of the Buono one, it was one of the videos they showed in their concert when they were doing costume changes and whatnot.

Yeah, they're called Video Tape Recorders in Japan as opposed to Video Cassette Recorders elsewhere. So it'd be a video tape recording then.

See, the only time I've seem the word "VTR" used was in case of an introduction (save for the Buono! spots).

Ohh, thanks for the clarification. I didn't know that they were actually called that; I just somehow mapped it to VCR because they sound similar, without making the connection to actual VCRs.

I could be wrong here (yes I know that's very unlikely) but I think VCR and VTR are different things. VCR is video cassette recorder but VTR is video tape recording and they are those big reels of tape you see whirring away in TV studios (before digital recording). You sometimes hear TV continuity announcers saying "we are going to VTR" when something goes wrong and they have to put something on in a hurry (and they haven't switched their mics off). Thusly the VTR section in concerts are recorded on high quality video tapes not on VCR tapes.

I concur and imagine that's why it is/was specifically VTR. I'm sure in many modern examples, it can refer to a digital file, but in broadcasting, tapes are still a standard. Many shows (and by association, video clips) are still shot on DV/HDV because of the reliable nature of tapes and their legacy.

Maybe, but as I mentioned before, the actual electronic devices that you put tapes in and use to record shows are called VTR/video tape recorders in Japan. I should know since I had to buy two of them which burned out recording shows off Japanese TV in the pre-high speed internet/file sharing days.

Oh god, those dark days.

I actually held a tape recorder to my television speaker to "copy" songs off of Hey Hey Hey when it aired on the international channel here. Then, I remember downloading Happy Summer Wedding on dial up.

I miss the days when 2 episodes of Hello! Morning would fit PERFECTLY on a 700MB CD-R.

I think you mean "when ANYTHING was worth burning".

Last thing I burned was a PC Recovery CD this summer, but other than that I only burn 2~3 mp3 CDs per year for my car and nothing else. Everything is archive on my Teratits HDD.

Yeah, I don't miss the days of burning stuff at all, I always prefered to just have everything on my hdds.

I lost my internet connection for a week earlier this year and I had to use dial-up. It was horrible.

Poor Sayu's losing her touch. She's only the 9th most hated female celebrity in Japan now.

And they said if Chisato's Dance de Bakoon video got half a million hits they'd put up the full version of their new PV, so that should be up soon on their youtube channel.

Okay, so I just went to the front page on the hello-project website and saw these cute creepy tapirs creeping.

I clicked them and came to: http://www.tapirus-story.com/index_new.html

It opens with a cute song and there are little movies all over the site with cute little things or whatever. Best I can tell is it's been on the H!P site at least since Friday?
