I died when I saw Reina's bow. It is too ridiculous - are they doing this ironically at this point?
After I watched a concert and saw Reina actually had several bows inside of each other like some kind of freaking bow fractal, my brain broke and now I have to believe they're trying to be funny.
Unfortunately Giant bow ties for babies are now very popular.

<- I totally stole that pic from arama

I'd blame Tsuji for it. But she never wore bows that big. D:

The thread title has the genders flipped. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dammit:' />

The choreography was a bit more goofy than the preview revealed, complete with shoulder dancing to the giant drum intro and every dramatic beat. The posing and the bold colors makes me think of them as sentai. I guess the random scenes could be considered dreams, or lack of an actual concept.

Wow, this is Hirata and the c/w is Okubo. Hirata's only single after Shouganai Yume Oibito.

They like giving him dream related songs.

Okubo is the Seishun Collection guy, he made up for that really quickly. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
As a whole, I like the song much more than the PV. This PV makes no sense to me and doesn't really fit the music.

Also, haven't we seen these white boots before? I hate them - they remind me of the late 90s.

Edit: I just did a quick scan and realized that the are ALWAYS wearing boots, either for promos or concerts or official outfits. Or at least knee high socks. And always with something very short, like shorts or a mini skirt! And it isn't just MM but so many idols. Why is this such a "thing" in Japan still? I thought that was really big like circa 1997.
Go to yesstyle.com, click on shoes, and then click on boots. Guess what the models are wearing? And these are styles from Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Japan. It's still all the rage I guess. I like although I think I'm a bit too old to pull that style off now. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/down.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' />

I'm waiting for the official release of the PV before I watch it.........maybe until the single actually comes out would be a better excuse. I heard the song when I first saw it up on H!O live and I liked it so; I guess I'm just waiting for the visual. I don't want to spoil it. I have seen the CM though and I actually like the choreography. I've always liked 'pop' movements as well as really sharp movements, so this is pretty much up my alley.......can't wait to see the YT wannabees try to copy this dance.

Must add that I love Aika's hair in this one.....although it would have been nice to give all the girls a ponytail extension so they all could 'whip it'.

Anyone know?
There are two dance shots.
Limited A: White Dance Shot Ver.

Limited B: Close-up Ver.

Limited C: Black Dance Shot Ver.
I got this info from Sony's music shop.
Hmmm...I watched the video. I'm guessing the White Dance Shot means the shots against the white background and the Black Dance Shot means the shots against the black background, which looks better anyway. So Limited C is the way to go--if I want to pay for it. The song doesn't do anything for me, nor does the dancing. But it IS the last video we'll get with Eri, JunJun and LinLin, right?

Well, it's the last single for them. But the limited edition of Fantasy Juuichi, the album that comes out next month, will have:

1) Solo Versions of the PV for this single

2) Video of the graduation announcement at the summer concert (Aug 8).

and maybe

3) Album jacket photographing making of.

Like this, good concert material I fancy and since I still can't work up any enthusiasm for the A side this is a small redeeming feature.

The B-side should be the A-side on this one. The A-side is annoyingly repetitive to me, both on its own merits and from the perspective that I've heard these motifs and this arrangement several times in other MM songs by now. "Aisaresugiru Koto wa Nai no yo" is pretty sweet, though, and probably the best thing MM has recorded in a while.

Hmmm, I still feel like they're giving the most "fun" songs to the kids groups these days. Maturesume is all very well and good, but I've been on a nostalgia trip listening from Love Machine to As For One Day for the past few hours, and... eh. I can't really articulate it, so I won't try. I wish the current group got some sillier material, I guess.

However, this is a million and a half times better than Snoring Collection, and the b-side is actually really good? Pretty solid single. Not sure how it'll sell, but I guess we'll see.

That's what the Muten Musume release was for. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' />

Also, this single isn't all that serious, I'd say it's goofier than As For One Day and definitely more than C-ute's new single.

Berryz are the anime girls now, so of course they will continue to get "fun" songs.

I'd consider this to be the least serious out of all "stringed dramatic era" tunes.

Not sure about AAA but Kobukuro's sales were at 24262.

No one likes Eri, JunJun or Linlin enough to give them a good, goodbye sales.

Either that or people realize it's a stupid purchase since the song's going to be on the album in a few weeks. I say it's bad marketing. If you're going to release a single and then a few weeks later an album with the single on it, at least beef up the c/w with a PV or something to make it more appealing.

Debuting at number 5 may not even get them the top 10. Fucking Japanese market with the boybands and trampsluts.

I'm assuming it didn't come with any kind of handshake event ticket since that seems to be the only thing the fans can't just download and would actually buy a CD for. I haven't looked to see if the other groups like Berryz, C-ute and S-mileage have started to outsell MM, but it looks like that day might be coming.

(single now in the audio thread)

Ok, this instrumental sounds a lot more Hirata Morning Curry-ish. The variety is of "instruments" is great. It has a dreamy, mystical feel to it that I didn't quite get from the previews. *whips hair*

Now the B-side, I wasn't impressed with the radio preview, but I knew there was more to it. It's great in fully quality, I love the vocal clip thing at the start and the different synths. Definitely single worthy, I hope the album is as strong as this. Sing it, Lin Lin! Show those bitches what they're giving up.

Down to 9 on day 2. I would guess that top 10 is a distant dream <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />.

The single seems to be back up to 4 today. We could still be looking at a top 10. But maybe I'm being too optimistic.

Hmmm, No6 with sales of 42,405.

Could have been much worse, at least it kept up the record of all singles being in the top 6. Sales are OK, by my reckoning 9 previous singles sold less in the first week including Aruiteru which went to no1. God, I'm being anal again.

I still don't like it though <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /frown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />.

That's some serious wishful thinking there, Turtle. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':frown:' /> Still, the sales themselves are reasonably consistent, and at least it sold more than Seishun Collection. This isn't a great turnout, but I expected worse when it was barely pushing 30k earlier in the week. The sales all seemed to come in at the last moment.

Ah but if you only say "Top 5" then you have to discount Morning Coffee and Mikan as well as this one and I really liked Morning Coffee and Mikan athough (and I'm not sure if I have mentioned this) I DON'T LIKE THIS BLOODY ONE.

Yeah, but it's not officially counted, like in the UK, so it's not really a "record". They count consecutive Top 5s, Top 10s, etc., but not Top 6s. That's what Ap meant, if I'm not mistaken.

In many cases, they leave the single off the album if the release date is too close.

<img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... lesson.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':frown:' /> This is why.

However, it works since the song was related to the album theme, and they only had Seishun Collection otherwise. I doubt they expected this to be a big sale single, it's a promote the new album single (+milk the triple graduation) and get more use out of the pretty dresses. Also, Eri was pretty popular, they will be lucky to see these numbers at their next single. If her fans + JunJun LinLin fans abandon MM, I think it'll be a bigger impact than whatever the new girls will bring in at the start. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /ph34r.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

The B-side was performed in concert before the single, I think they wanted that to be the big incentive to getting this CD, so they teased fans well in advance.

I appreciate that, but 44 Top 6 singles sounds even more impressive than 44 Top 10 singles <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':frown:' />.
