At a second glance, I think #1 can look a little like Kamei. It is all in the narrow eyes. But, she probably got the nickname based on the "eri" names. There are so many of us, you know.

In any case, she could have left her agency so that she could audition for mm. Or, she auditioned for mm because she got fired/was sick of her current agency.

It's not the age that's the problem, it's the recent standards for who they pick. Based on the choices of "miracle girl" and "42%!!" I don't have too high hopes, but hey, they also recently made a good decision and added Jun/Lin! I already posted it before, but I just feel weird idolizing a young girl. And feel mad they're ruining the mature image of the group. That's one of the reasons I liked it when Pandas were added, they were relatively older. Maybe there's a chance they'll add an 11 year old (that acts and looks 17 or something...), but no, I never trust Tsunku.

I went through the same thing after 4th gen. I first *really* started liking mm around 2nd gen and a lot of it was because they were all around my age (Abe, Iida were the main girls and are my age). Then suddenly Rika was the center girl and there were 2 elementary school kids running around. Then! All the original girls left and *everyone* was younger than me and it just got really annoying. Apex of this was Koharu Kusumi. I couldn't believe I was into a group led by a spastic middle schooler who acted even younger than she was.



But suddenly, I found myself enjoying H!P for different reasons. They are all like really cute little sisters I guess? It is still girly fun but much more distanced from my personal life. Nothing wrong with that.

Just saw this post. I think the problem is that no one wants to spend the money to develop/evolve these girls. But this is indicative of the whole music industry right now. You need to be young and talented and perfectly shrink-wrapped as-is. Labels and agencies are ignoring potential and, while Tsunku has been doing his hardest to keep that classic mentality alive, poor sales and rival successes are basically proving that quantity over hard work is better because the wotakus are more likely to attach themselves to one of 48 no-names than one of ten consistent members.

Well, as I said, she was on those websites as recently as last week. So she left recently for some reason. I mean, yeah, it could be anything. They could've fired her when they saw her dancing spastically on Bijo Gaku last week. Or they saw her on TV and realized she quit months ago and they should really update their page. Who knows.

OH ALSO. That girl wasn't in an agency but an acting school, which is why she's still eligible. A postboard or someth at the actual school lists her as having major debuted in Tokyo, via 2ch. :X I can't say that that's 100% true, but 2ch was right about the number of girls in the training camp and their ages before Bijo Gaku was shown.

Hm I always thought that H!P was kind of like a giant reality show -- take a bunch of amateurs at a low cost and have audiences watch them develop (in more ways than one) over the years. Then at age 24, they get polished but also jaded and bored and turn to singing odd jazzy remixes like Matsuura did.
