Berryz Koubou to Perform at Sakuracon 2011

But I had on my list of "Big, Fun and Scary Things to Do" (a big New Years resolution list basically) under the "I wants" to have Berryz come to America. Got one thing down. Dear GOD, I've been waiting for this to happen for years. I must find a way to Seattle, and find at least one person who is willing and able to go with.

Like Yasuda Kei, I rise from my sarcophagus when such important events transpire. I will be there, as no force in this universe will stop me from seeing Berryz Koubou perform in America. And yes, I know I was all but sure I'd return to Anime Expo earlier this year (to see AKB and potentially Mano Erina.) But as important as either of those is, they don't compare to Berryz Koubou. Not to mention the insane costs that would have been involved in traveling to Los Angeles again. At least back in 2009, when so many of our good friends from the BBS were attending, Anime Expo ended up being doable for me. And just barely, mind you, thanks to some wonderful kindness on various people's parts. This year, it just wasn't possible.



A trip to Seattle, in the spring, will be substantially cheaper. Plane tickets are cheaper because it's not during peak holiday travel season. Accommodations will be cheaper, as, well - it's not taking place in freaking Los Angeles. And at the very least, I can say that Steve (AEUG) and I are going with 100% certainty. We've both mentioned requesting the days off work this next coming week or two. I'm preparing to save the money required now, and the only thing that would stop me from attending this convention is if Berryz decides to cancel. Other than that, I'll be flying into Seattle this spring. I hope more of you will be joining me. I adore and miss you guys, and this would be the ultimate thing to bring us together again.

This enthusiasm is really infectious! I thought I was kind of over Berryz since their last few albums were boring (imo) but now I really want to go.

Obviously I won't be able to see this, but maybe it's a sign that they could come to Europe next year. If they're prepared to send Berryz to America, it doesn't seem all that unlikely.

I have never hated living in New York as much as I do now. Berryz is my absolute favorite Jpop group and I won't be able to get there. :/ I'm just hoping to find someone who'd be willing to pick me up a Risako shirt if I paid them.

Until the convention actually takes place, can this thread truly be considered "dead?" I'm actually quite saddened by how quickly this thread slipped into the nether-reaches of the board. Anyway, a Japanese animator scheduled to appear at the New York International Children's Film Festival this weekend has already canceled his trip here. I'm now wondering if Berryz will actually make the trip to Seattle.
