Oh my god, she's gorgeous. Not necessarily in a way like some of the other girls. She almost reminds me of Iida.

She might just be my favourite now.



I might need to get my hands on some Shugo Chara Egg songs to hear what she sounds like. I know the name, but I never listened to Shugo Chara Egg to know what she, or any of the girls really, sounded like.

2010 was pretty much a low point in my HP fandom, but this year things are beginning to look up. I think this announcement is interesting, because I'm pretty sure this is the first time the group is basically split down the middle in terms of age. I wouldn't be surprised if this 9th gen becomes the core of the group if not by the end of this year, assuredly in 2012.

Ai: The elementary schoolers made me turn around! (I dont really get what she said here)

First I would like to say I WANT MY ERI AND JUNLIN BACK.



I really can't get up any enthusiasm for these girls. Musically I don't like the young girl voices, I don't like S/mileage, I've only just started to like C-ute and Berryz now they are older and I don't like any of the anime related groups. Personality-wise they might be sweet/cute/adorable but once they open their mouths....



I am worried what this is going to do musically to MM, can you really have 12-14 year old girls singing about adult emotions/themes or are we going to have the older girls having to do cutesy, bouncy crap.



I'm keeping an open mind until I hear and see the new members performing but this might just be the death knell for me and MM.



I shall now take my pessimism away and go and sulk in the corner.

But more importantly, it probably won't matter. You forget that one new member is 16 and Riho acts like she's 18. In any case, we'll have 12, 12, 13, 16, 17, 21, 21, 22, 24. Average age = 17.5. Average age when MM came to AX (with Koharu etc) = 19 (thanks Madara).. The average age throughout most of mm's history has always been younger than this current line up. 2nd gen mm averaged 17 years old. so they were "younger" than this new batch.



Aside from the few explicitly about sex, most of mm's songs are hardly about "adult emotions." A 19 year old can still be cutesy and the most emo morons I know are about 13-14. And it wasn't like 12 year old Kago somehow stood out and totally ruined Renai Revolution 21 or Happy Summer Wedding. Let's ignore the ages and be happy we have a group of talented, interesting girls again.

I've never, ever been optimistic about any previous audition results (I was LIVID with 6th gen, haha!), so I'm not trying to be a major hypocrite. I just think that in the past, when the group had so much charisma and personality, it always felt like a 'if it's not broken, don't fix it' situation. But current MM is most definitely broken, and there's really nowhere to go but up. I'd find it hard to believe that anyone wouldn't agree the group has gotten majorly dull, unless they're newer fans and have little to compare to.
