But buy the print edition anyway! Make those sales go up anytime they cover any of our girls!
It shall be done. Both to support any publication of our beloved H!P gals and to support a chap I respect the hell out of. Are you joining us for Sakuracon, by the way? Missing out on seeing Berryz Koubou live in America would be a crime, particularly for you since you could almost assuredly interview them while there. Not to mention I miss you, as Steve agrees, and Anime Expo 2009 was entirely too long ago.

Now to make a new signature pic since my old ImageShack account was yeeted.
"Otaku USA: In 2009, you came to America for the first time and met American fans at Sakura-Con in Seattle. What was your reaction to American fans?
Rika: I was so happy to see girls around the same age wearing the same kind of outfit. I was very excited to see them.
How are American fans different from Japanese fans?
My impression was that in America there are more female fans than male fans."
Hahhhhhh. I've been reading on the BBS all those wota posts; this is so telling ;P How nice it must be for Rika to see female fans for once rather than wota all the time. I'm still upset I wasn't able to go to see her in October. I'm only a year older than her ;~;
Thank you for the link, this was a very interesting read! (The 4th gen question was a bit bold, but I'm a sucker for those kinds of questions).

Okay, I've got more pix from the event up on my blog, including ones that were not used in the article or posted before, along with a few questions/answers that were cut from the article for reasons that are explained.
I'm thinking of posting the full transcript of the Q&A on my blog in the next entry. The article only had room for choice excerpts.

Wasn't there a thing several years ago where Rika got in a bit of trouble for calling the fans creepy? Or was that just a rumor?
Very nice interview, Madara! I enjoyed reading it (and my old college roommate is in the first picture... surprise!)

Yup, if I remember she called them "stupid adults" because of their wotaism, and there's an audio recording of it somewhere.
Props, Madara, for an awesome interview. Not too over-the-top fanboy/gushy (I find usual anime con/jpop English interviews can be too cutesy), and you had some interesting questions. And I'm jealous that you got to hang out with her and chat!
Madara~ I told you before, but I will happily tell you again. Great interview! I am still so jealous you got some one on one time with Charmy. ♥
And what Shin said... go see Berryz! Me and Josh already booked our flights! You should get on the same flight as us and we can geek out the whole way to Seattle and annoy the rest of the cabin, okay?
Anywho; I'm glad to see it out Madara! If I can find a copy of the magazine near me, I'll most definitely get it.
Also, I love the Usako cameo in the photos.
...is that the same jacket you wore to AX? :
Very observant of you. Yes, it is. I only have two blazers, one light blue, for warmer weather, and one black for colder seasons. I suppose I should wear the black one next time, no matter what season it is.
