Tsunku introduces us to Idol Wrestling!

Post by Shoujo Q »

I found this article on Pure Idol Heart and thought it would be a nice topic of conversation. ;D (They link to Killer Contents YouTube page if you want to just watch the videos.)

Image

Wrestling and Idols come together in one explosive new fetish! Shinken Onna no Jin – The☆Killer♡Contents!!!

Tsunku was holding auditions for a second event which I saw that Tokyohive had translated but I didn't think much of it till I saw the videos above.

I'm not really sure WHAT is going on, but there's a lot of violent musical chairs and dance offs and actual wrestling. Of course it's all WWF style fake crap.

Tsunku's official Blog Page on the subject.

This just further solidifies my theory that Tsunku is a mad genius.

Oh and if you ever wondered what Nice Girl Project, Eggs, and former H!P members were doing. Check out some of the videos.

iirc Al posted a video about two 14 years old dressed up as (gothic) lolitas also doing some fake wrestling.

Maybe this is somehow related ?

I was GUNG HO! I love idols, I loved wrestling, TSUNKU IN THE HOUSE!?! WIN ALL AROUND!

First thing I randomly clicked on youtube page

Hey, you wanted discussion.

It's umm....rather infuriating. I loved wrestling until my favorite wrestlers left but this was...that fight was about how ineffective women are. I know wrestling is a male powerup show and women are always treated as sex objects (Unless you're Chyna, in which case you are allowed to wrestle but must always resort to the cockpunch) but it was hard watching the girl fake push/slap/punch and get beat down easily. And the book part, what in the f- was that? "HARD WORDS! SHE FELL ON HER OWN BECAUSE OF THE HARD WORDS?" (Please tell me I understood that correctly) I know idols beating down flabby men is a stretch, but the whole "DOGPILE TO WIN" is condescending.

Then I watched the clips in the blog.

The dance battle was...rather silly and funny. If they were a little faster with their movements it would look better but it was rather amusing.

The musical chair segment... that floor looked like it was going to collapse D: I'm not sure what this has to do with wrestling but, okay?

And then I watched this segment with all females

So, now there's those fierce women/villain characters against cutesy girls again. The black girls are older, in harsher makeup, and I'm guessing aren't a part of the idol troupe in this wrestling makeup. :/ It's the complete one sided nature of it that bothers me. The cute girls go through, get thrown down, "Kyaaaa waaaaaah uguuuu" bs ensues, then one member who can hold her own comes out, does something, the girly girl is tagged back in and she gets knocked around some more. Geez. The cute poses after finally doing something are not cute enough to balance the unease I felt as they threw them around. Yes, it's fake, but it's the principle of the matter. I liked the acrobatics at the end though. If these matches were more fair and balanced the cool with the cute it would be better and worth watching.

DECISION - MORE DANCE BATTLES LESS ONE SIDED MOEBLOB BEATDOWNS

I remember someone here posted a video of a cute young girl wrestler and joked that she should join MM.

Beat me to it. Kudos Al.

I don't quite get what's so unique about it other than having Tsunku's blessing. Japan has had a 30+ year history of idol women wrestlers who would go up against beastly badasses like Aja Kong. Akira Hokuto even fought for some US promotions back in the day.

Ice Ribbon has been doing a pretty great mix of idol-like cuties and solid technical wrestling for a few years now. Riho! (with added Idolm@ster song goodness) <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Bed wrestling and bright panties?

Tsunku's Jeopardy score is definitely not -$4,600 now.

If there is no Hello Morning, I will settle for Musical Performance & SIT YOUR ASS DOWN battles.

Wait hold on Tsunku, these dance battles could take the Rhythm Tengoku series to a whole new level...

You're welcome.

I saw this and came in to talk about Ice Ribbon, but Al beat me to the punch. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Ice Ribbon isn't really an idol thing, though. There were wrestlers back in the day who were basically idols, though. Cutie Suzuki and Inoue Takako and the like. There's also an idol-wrestler-raising series called Wrestle Angels. I don't think this is an entirely new concept.

Wait. I just skimmed that video, but... weren't the chubby opponents women? I'm not saying, like, especially feminine women, but women, right?

That is a pretty awesome thing to be terrible at. I like you more than ever now.

So, uh, idol wrestling. It is in no way my bag of chips. I want to be offended, but it's just too silly for me to commit.

Something like; guys have an outtie, girls have an innie?

I don't think I'll ever understand Japan. I mean, we have the same thing here with the concept of idol wrestlers, both male and female (John Cena, Chynna, etcetc), but even here I don't understand the appeal of playfighting.

Wow, I laughed hard at the title of this topic. Tsunku really knows how to wake (if necessary) the pervert inside us. Wrestling + Idol.....HELL YES. It's like dessert, plus more dessert, it can't go wrong, can it?
