I think they all balance out decently in the end, they have the basic idol archetypes covered;

The Maki/Ai/Reina (I'm a diva, bitches) - Riho

The Konkon/Rika (Moeblob) - Erina and Mizuki

The Mako/Risa/Mari (GENKI DESU KAAAA! USO!) - Kanon

They could all become annoying (Reina, Risa) or awesome (Maki, Rika).

I would completely argue against Eri and Koharu ever being "valuable members". Eri actually comes to mind as the one member of 6th generation that never should have been chosen. She didn't peak or contribute anything until very late in the game, and even then, her talents in all fields were mediocre at best. There's something charming about Erina's shyness though and there's some charisma behind it. It's different than the shyness of Konno and Kamei.

Riho is still my favorite of the bunch.

Pardon, you must be talking about another Eri <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /frown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />. She's a superb dancer, along with Takahashi and Goto the best in MM. She's a more than competent actress, her voice improved greatly and is now good (listen to her Cover album). She was great in Hello! Morning, see Eric Kamezo, Victoria Kamei and Elizabeth Kamei. She was also very popular with the fans, listen to the cheers she gets at concerts when her name is announced and she gives every indication of being a sweetheart in real life.

As regards the 6th Generation she's better than Sayumi (sorry Al) in every respect, she's not as good a vocalist as Reina but she outshines her in everything else, the same applies to her in comparison with Miki although I realise some might disagree <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... stling.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hmph:' />.

I never saw Eri as a bad member.

I always enjoyed her on H!M etc. and as our Board-Kame already said, she had some very good acts there like Eric Kamezou.

Eri never got as much attention in songs as Reina did, so I can't say if I'd be fed up by her voice by now just as much. Reina has a very distinct singing voice and I don't want to her it as much as I do in recent songs.

Same here. Eri was/is great. The 2nd best dancer in MM, and one of top 3 in all of H!P (Takahashi & Shimizu are the other 2).

And I love her voice, it's really sweet.

I loved her in H!M, she was so funny~

Speaking of dancing, I would love too see all the H!P girls dance solo so I can see their skills, because I know for a fact Kamei, Ai, Berryz Saki, and the C-ute girls are all excellent dancers, but I'm kind of iffy on the other H!P girls.

I don't know if this will offend anyone, but I actually think Eri's voice sounds a bit like Kago's, I find it really enjoyable though, more so than Reina's I'd put her voice at second best of the previous MM line up behind Ai.

As I say Miki clearly has the better voice although I sometimes found it a bit hard especially when she gave it some volume.

I was always a bit ambivalent towards Miki, it's purely subjective but I always got the impression that she was less committed to the whole MM ethos than the other members, she always seemed to be a bit removed from everything. If I'm right maybe it was a reaction to being axed as a soloist to become a MM member.

I guess I just never warmed to her, I don't dislike her or anything just she was never one of my favourites. I know it's probably wishful thinking and I have been sucked into the whole manufactured idol personna but I always felt that girls like Eri, Ai, Yossie etc. would be really nice people if you ever met them but Miki would be a bit cold and standoffish.

In every single picture of Risa, I'm convinced she's wearing a wig or some awful extensions. She needs a different haircut.

That picture makes no sense. Why did they center Aika when she's dressed in drab colors? Takahashi, Reina and Risa I guess are the only ones wearing bright colors but they stuck them in back?

Now that I'm home from work, I can talk more about this. ;D I'm surprised they put Aika in the middle and not to the side and let one of the new girls be middle, like Riho or Mizuki but oh well. I'm not going to judge.

Is this going to be for their concert or Single?

Edit: This weeks Bijo Gaku cut with the 9th Gen. (Funny that they end it with the photoshoot for the picture above. ;D)

Interaction with the other members of Morning Musume and Autographs.

Riho is the best at everything except making a signature. All the rest are pretty good.

And someone flipped a switch on Erina because she's no longer got that scared deer in the headlight look when she's in front of the camera.

No matter how much I like Risa I have to agree on her hair, just doesn't suit her that much. You can just see Kanon is trying to smile, and I love Mizuki's hair she looks much better. Aika looks really pretty in the middle, Im just used to seeing her on the side. (maybe they did this picture going by age...?)
