Whoever is calculating BMI, and using that to judge people on how healthy they are is an idiot. My dad is normal height/weight and his BMI is 30, which makes him obese. It's ridiculous. BMI is not useful!

I actually concur. The fittest I ever was in my life, I was still in the overweight range for my height. I was in great shape, too, and I looked quite thin. My weight was compact because I trained hard. My point with the BMI was only that if you are in the normal weight range BMI-wise, you hardly qualify as fat. Thin ≠ healthy, and I think every post in this thread has made that pretty clear.

It's always amused me that all the really in shape people I know (personal trainers, general fitness fanatics, etc.) weigh a lot more than you'd think by looking at them.

On that note, I can't believe I just stopped working out to post about fat on the BBS. Jillian Michaels would not approve. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

BMI is a very good indicator for average people who are not body builders or very well trained. Obviously those people will have a lot more muscles and thus might not be "overweight" in the traditional sense, thus they should not use the BMI in this way.

I thought their debut song was so-so, but hearing it live is amazing.

Actually, all of them are amazing vocalists. Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow

Does it seem like the Ji Yeon (in the suit) lost weight? Or is it clever clothes? Her face looks thinner though...

I think I will become a fan, I am so impressed with them so far. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':eekrun:' />

I really kind of love these girls, but I am bothered by every interview so far. It's all a big ball of ugh.

So here's some positivity.

She does look like she lost weight. She looks like she doesn't even belong in the group anymore.

The third link you posted was hilarious to me. What's the big deal about them being older? Or is there something about K-pop, if they've graduated high school they're to be thrown away? lol

The issue was not their age, but that people felt they looked much older than they were.

There is no part of this article that sits well with me.

What an asshole-move by the company.

Pushing them into a "slim" direction will not help them in any way. There are already enough groups of that kind on the market.

Uuuugh, weight in Korea. I can't even tackle this issue anymore. Being pressured to eat just to stick to the gimmick of "fat" girl group is just as disgusting as their being pressured to go on diets to be "skinny." I wish for the best for these girls and hope they can achieve their dreams regardless of stupid marketing ploys and fickle audiences.

Yeah, forcing them to eat to keep them fattened up is just as disgusting. Literally every part of that made me upset. Their responses, however, made me respect the girls more. It's a crying shame that they don't seem to be well-received despite being insanely talented. I honestly can't imagine how much this must suck for them, especially considering the trainee process in Korea. Failing is hard enough, but this is rubbing salt in a wound.

And I just want to state openly that I'd make 20 babies cry to be as hot as Ji-Eun. Girlfriend is adorable.

Jesus fuck. You just know they were forced into crash dieting to drop that weight. I'm sure the company was pissed the fat gimmick didn't work. It would have worked if they had given them a song that wasn't a clusterfuck tbqh.

Some article said they switched companies, but I doubt that makes a difference. All of it disgusts me, honestly.

'They just lost weight naturally' um. Yeah. >.> God at least make up a better lie than that. I feel for these girls. I really hope they can make it big now. No pun intended, seriously though, it is disgusting.

TBH, the only member I was happy lost weight was the fattest one because she was the only one at a truly unhealthy level. But several posts above they had interviews saying "the company forces us to overeat to stay fat" and that was sad, but then it is turned around to "the company starves us so we can lose weight quickly for another debut".

So what happens when the weight loss gimmick doesn't work? It's sad because the girls have lovely voices.

....Okay, this sounds sad, but random thought: The company should've let them ride the train for awhile to let them stock up on hits. Then, they lose the weight, but they release exercise videos using their hit songs and diet to go along with their new image. Weight loss industry is probably the easiest to make a ton of money off of.

Shouldn't take you long, since there are only three new songs including the single <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... dammit.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dammit:' />

New video for the song Hakuna matata.

I like it, love the out doors, looks like fun to me ^^.

I also think they look good, no need to change from this.

I like these girls a lot. They're very fun and playful. I'm sad about their career though.

So yeah, this song isn't jiving with me, but damn if I don't like them performing it. They look like they're so happy lol

Anything called Hakuna Matata that isn't from The Lion King is terrible in comparison.

And now I'm on youtube listening to Disney songs. This happens at least once a month. Fuck yeah Mulan.

Well, that was a waste of emotional investment.

Nobody's "piggy" anymore either. This started to go south the moment the original girls were forced into weight loss. Luckily a bullet averted for them at least.

I just looked at some pictures of the group and is this seriously what Korea considers "overweight"? :whatthe: Where I live we call this curvy.
