I refuse to watch or listen to anything related to Lady G., but from the few photos of her that I've unwittingly saw I can tell the line between "inspiration" and "pathetic uninspired ripoff" has been overran by a mile.

I'm still happy there's stuff going on on the screen and that the outfits and makeups are elaborate and/or more than one. However, the time of giving H!P PVs a slack for not sticking to the "empty stage dance shot - close up - empty stage dance shot" are coming to an end.

After typing the last paragraph I remembered this is Berryz and not MM we're talking about, and Berryz can do better. So nevermind what I said, this is just crap.

I think now I understand why C-ute was shafted a PV. Damn you Berryz with your two outfits, make-up, semi-half-assed storyline and special effect projection lighting. JUST cause it's your 7th anniversary you have to take away all the nice things from C-ute cause you KNOW they sound and move better then you. HMMPF! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... dammit.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dammit:' />

And I finally understand why they put Yurina in that poncho, JUST so they could pull this move off successfully!

As far as songs go, I still like it. So I'm not gonna hate on it too much.

I just hope this isn't going to screw with Morning Musume's big come-back budget PV because if it does, then I'll hate. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I actually adore both the PV and the song. I'll admit to being extremely biased because they're my favorite group, but I thought both were good. And Risako looks fantastic, and Maasa and Saki don't bother me like they normally do.

I actually like the PV. (I'm gonna assume the style is sorta an america-based reference due to a few things like say sakuracon or whatever it is? don't kill me for this, but i'm gonna guess?)

The song appeals to my hyper, and most of all:

I actually noticed Maasa for once!!!! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /dance.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

You and me both, I find her ludicrous attempts to generate puiblicity pathetic. For all I know her music might be OK but I can't be bothered to listen to it.

Why don't you at least find out, so you know what you're actually hating. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I thought of Tron & JEM. Also the photographer at the end of SOME BOYS! TOUCH

What are you children talking about? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... wheely.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wheely:' />

I really like the PV. Momoko, however looked like she was transported to Do it! Now at 2:17.

Obviously, Miyabi went to meet MM for a Kimagure Princess dance off.

I like how they vanish at the end like Megaman just died. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hm, now that i look at it, the dance shot does have a bit of a Tron vibe to it.

I still think this America-popculture thing is due to the upcoming Sakuracon visit.

It makes sense, I felt the same way about the direction of MM's 9th album + timing with AX '09.

Actually, considering the type of crowds anime conventions bring, it might be backwards.

I doubt Sakuracon's audience wants typical American style. Maybe Lady Garoogamesh more than Lady Gaga.

Confession: This release makes me really excited that they're coming to the USA. I'm not going, and I'm not making any effort to try (because I absolutely can't) but it's damn exciting.

Momoko in a Gaga wig is hilariously adorable. At any rate, I do like the PV. The setup with the flashy background + solo shots makes me think of kpop MVs a lot. The song is enjoyable as well.

Looking at all the hate for the PV on here, I'll just...uh...agree with you all?

<img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... wheely.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wheely:' />

Truth be told I hate my face blown off by the PV. Not their greatest, but it's definitely flashy.

Also quite surprised to see the "blah blah blah blah blah light" lines were Yurina. I was thinking it was a case of Sh/Tsu and someone else, but I couldn't put my finger on that someone else.

Finally...man, Saki looks hot.

Like I said I'm hating her (or possibly him) not the music and sometimes it's impossible to divorce the music from the personality of the performer. I just don't want to make the effort to listen to the music as I feel I would be pandering to her self-publicity.

^ It's like how I feel about Britney, can't stand her as a person, but some of her songs are Ok. I do like me some Lady Gaga though.

God I wish more awesome bands would come to the UK. Nana Kitade is coming in April. Yay. But I'd love to see other H!P acts come.

I have a feeling my opinion is going to be in the minority here, but they neeeeeeeeed to let Momoko grow up. I know they're probably trying to specifically shoot for cute with her so as to emphasize the awkwardness her fans find so endearing, but I think giving her that kiddie hair and no makeup and then surrounding her with 6 other perfectly made-up girls with their flowing model locks blowing in fan-generated wind makes her stick out and look sad. It was fine when they were all kids, but they've long since transformed everyone else and left Momo behind, like they've deemed her a lost cause.

Or, maybe not particularly being a fan of hers, I just don't get it. Does everyone else like her this way?

I agree with your wholeheartedly, Moonlight; but the problem is with her face, and her stature, it's pretty hard to let her grow up. She's just going to always be that cute little thing.

I'll be the first to say that she looks good with long hair. She had extensions for the princess section of her first photobook, and she looked damn good with them. Hell, even if they lightened her hair or did something extra special with it. Make her the Ootani of Berrryz!

Momoko's butt is grown up. It's awesome.

Also, Momoko herself seems like she doesn't particularly want to be perceived as older.

Someone in Japan was kind enough to show us the Lady Gaga references in Berryz new PV.

Performance on Happy Music

Miyabi needs to put her bangs back on, but the live version makes me like the song a lot more. Sudo looks so pretty.

Found this on H!O, it's also got the talk segment as well as the performance. It's great if your a Momoko fan as she steals the show near the end of the talk segment.

Definitely one of Berryz best. Are Yurina's legs growing longer by the minute?

Oh and I still find it difficult to accept that Risako is the youngest and Momoko is two years older!

Berryz Managed to make it to #1 on Oricon after a week of being not #1.

They did a debut of 6, 7, 7, 7, 9 and then jumped up to #1. I think this is their first time? I also like that they were at #7 for three days in a row.

So Berryz is on heroin and Buono is promoting weed..

What other °Crugs are going to be in H!P songs?

[/quote]

Your post made me feel ecstasy. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... imshot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rimshot:' /> And I now really want to see one of the groups cover Ecstacy by MAX.

Also: Fantasy Ga Hajimaru -> hallucinogens?

Also also: why are they twirling their fingers around for "heroine" in the PV? You don't roll heroin, you inject it!

OK, enough drug jokes. I'm not a great fan of this song at the moment, but songs of that style have grown on me in the past so I reserve the right to change my opinion later. What does everyone think of the B-side? I like that quite a lot.

The B-side is reminding me of like a Rakuten Eagles song mated with a Buono song or something. I mean you even have one of the girls telling GITTAH I think during the guitar riff.
