Is it just me or does anyone else hope that Ai gets a solo single sometime soon? It's a bit much to ask for a successful solo career from her Gomaki style, but with all her contributions surely she at least deserves some kind of farewell solo song. Released seperately from MM.

Yeah, those tenures really put things into perspective. Not being a fan WHEN a lot of my favorites were around, it's really strange seeing that they were in the group for such a short amount of time, (Nakazawa only there for 3 years? Tsuji/Kago only for 4?) especially compared to some of the ones now. I guess they seem frozen in time with the clips/H!M episodes/guest appearances, so it makes it seem like they were around so much longer. I guess also since they didn't really leave H!P when they graduated, like all the members do now. But I seriously can't believe Ai/Risa have been around for almost 10 years on their own.

Yeah I agree with that. She fades so easily into the background, way more than Ogawa or Yasuda did, for as they didn't get many lines, they still had individual personality, and hell Ogawa could dance, and both of them got more publicity then Aika gets. I think Aika and Koharu have been 2 very wrong choices for MM.

I think both Ogawa and Yasuda both benefitted a lot from Hello! Morning where you could really see their personalities, I mean Granny Yasuda ROCKED.



I totally agree about Aika and Kusumi being mistakes. We could have had Rina Takeda instead of the horror that was Kusumi, her voice couldn't have been any worse and she could have gone around kicking wota arse (that's ass for you Merkins).

I don't think anyone is a mistake. If they weren't there, it wouldn't be the same MM. The songs would probably be different if they hadn't joined, and you'd all just be complaining about some other girl who was a "mistake". And this isn't K-POP so they don't need to be perfect, trained 3-5 years before they joined, idols. Except that's kinda what Fuku-chan and Riho are. That's the thing with Japanese idols, many of them are like this.

Why should we not want the people that in our opinion would have been better for the group ?



As I've said before, no new member ever again is going to revitalize MM into being the #1 millionseller in Japan, but that doesn't mean we have to have no standards. Riho is liked so much because she's really good at dancing and her singing isn't bad either.



Also, of course it wouldn't be the same MM, but maybe it would be a better MM. My reason why I've disliked some of the MM songs in the past few years is because kusumi is ruining every single song she's in and her voice is absolutely disgusting. I wouldn't have complained if Kikkawa Yuu would have gotten the spot for example. Better singer, nicer person and better looking.

Well, actually what I was thinking but didn't write was that everyone is going to have someone they don't like no matter what, someone they think isn't good enough, or their personality sucks, or something or other. The example that everyone uses, Ai is great at dancing and singing but some people hate her because her personality is boring, Sayu has a great personality, but bad singing. Also Kikka wasn't that great from the beginning either, people probably would've complained about her in the beginning too. Also of course, how good someone looks depend on the person. Someone might think Mizuki is the ugliest girl they've ever seen, while others, I'd like to say most, think she's a very cute girl.

I guess I mean to say, everyone has different preferences so someone elses perfect MM, might be full of flaws to another. There are girls who can sing, dance, have personality, are cute and will still be disliked.

My dream.. hmm.. it is to have more people know Morning Musume. In Japan as well as overseas, but first I want many people in Japan who don't know Morning Musume to know us. Our fans see and know our good points. Morning Musume has lots of good points, the group as well as each individual member. The songs Tsunku writes are also nice, so I want a lot of people to listen to them.



Morning Musume has a great name. I think there are a lot of people that know the Morning Musume name, but, sadly, I don't think they know the current Morning Musume very well. Our fans know us well, but the general public probably don't know the deeper things. But I think they would be surprised if they knew. Surprised that it's such a nice group. It's not just that the singing is good. There is something that speaks to you, which I think is very cool. It's kinda weird saying this as a member, but I feel it in my skin. During concerts, listening to our music I think: "Morning Musume is amazing. This is Morning Musume." And I feel this is the group I wanted to join.



But it is a waste if only I know this. The fans know, but the general public, I want them to know current Morning Musume is different from the Morning Musume in the past. There are lots of good things we've inherited from the past, but I also believe there are good things only current Morning Musume has and I want more people to know that.

Especially after filling Yokohama Arena last year (they hadn't had an arena concert since Fujimoto got scandalized out of the group moments after becoming leader in 2007). I'd like to think the group has been slowly working their way up after the scandal years, but after loosing Eri, Junjun and Linlin (and soon Ai) there's a lot riding on how many fans the 9th gen can get the following months.
