Yeah it is too bad the video is down. I almost never venture into the world of 2ch or Japanese blogs because they all seem to look like this...incomprehensible. But anyhow, I wonder if those quotes are taken out of context...

Understandable for Tsunku to be a bit jealous, but he should take cues from Akimoto. Not just sit there seething and continue to do things his way and FAIL at sales.

So what exactly did he say? I'm not sure what to make of "AKB48 is the same as general elections put the bottle sister cabaret", courtesy of g translator.

"The AKB48 General Elections are the same as putting a girl from a cabaret club in a bottle"

He also talks about how he wanted to use the theater AKB has in Don Quixote, but the got to it first. Which was like 6 years ago back when AKB wasn't even popular. Get over it Tsunku.

What's that post about?

[/quote]

Mmm Saya gave the gist of it. I'll do my best to do a translation but some of the sentences confuse me....

「僕らが時東あみを推してる時にAKBがドンキの上で劇場借りたんですね」

When we were promoting Tokito Ami, AKB was renting the stage above Don Quixote.

「僕らも借りようと思ったんですけどね、家賃で絶対毎月赤字になるから借りなかったんですけどね」

We also thought about renting it out too but, every month it was definitely in the red so we decided not to rent it.

「キャバレーで歌うお姉ちゃんが歌ったあと横に座ってくれる感覚をドンキの上にもってったんですね」

Before, Don Quixote had a feeling like a cabaret club where onee-san would sing and then afterwards, come sit next to you.

(Basically a hostess club)

「総選挙のシステムはキャバクラのお姉ちゃんにボトル入れてあげてるのと同じ感覚ですね」

The AKB general elections are the same system as giving cabaret girls in a bottle. (I don't get this?? I know in Host/ess clubs, alcohol is a big factor but this sentence confuses me. Maybe when they vote in Hostess clubs, they put their votes in a bottle? Or that its a reference to getting access to a club by first paying for a bottle of alcohol?)

「K-POPに追いつくためにはAKBのライバルグループが1つか2つかないと駄目なんです」

In order to catch up to Kpop, AKB needs to have more than just maybe 1 or 2 rivals. (??)

「ハローが全くAKBと同じ仕組みでやってみるとかね」

I thought about putting all of H!P in the same system as AKB.

--

I think is what he's saying more or less. So he's drawing creepy parallels between AKB and hostess clubs while also doing a hipster move of "well, I thought of it to you know."

In case anybody is interested, the Don Quixote DOES actually have a maid cafe. It's 2~3 stories below the AKB Theater, which is on the top floor.

In Host(ess) Clubs the workers are judged/payed by how many bottles of champagne etc. they sell.

Just for reference, those Don Quixote stores are FULL of useless crap and junk.

They also sell funny hats, keyrings, toys and assorted other stuff.

Fukuda Asuka is apparently rumored to be making a comeback to showbusiness

And a related article

I highly doubt she's actually making a comeback, but I thought the fact that the rumor existed at all was pretty interesting.

She's the legendary one who left and disappeared. A few years ago, I saw some TV show that went undercover and found her working at her family's bar/restaurant. The camera was hidden the whole time and she was very awkward when they revealed that they were actually reporters. When they asked why she quit, she just said uncomfortably, "perhaps because I was too young...?" Then they sang karaoke together. I guess people are curious about her still.

Maybe Asuka's comeback is more interesting now because Maki is leaving. Time is reversing.

Wasn't the rumour at the time that her parents pulled her out as they thought she was too young once MM started to take off?

Hmm maybe all of the above are correct? She was way younger than everyone and seemed to be really unprepared for the entertainment world. I remember the guys on Heyx3 made her cry.

Essentially, the story is, Asuka left because her parents wanted her to continue her schooling and felt she wasn't ready for show business. Despite this, she basically immediately dropped out of high school after leaving LOL I'm guessing it's a combination of her parents wishes for her to lead a normal life, as well as the fact that, let's face it... she was the 13 year old lead singer of group full of grown ass women who only got to sang harmony. There pretty much had to be some cattiness back stage.

So, in TNX news, Canary Club's Chiichan has left. She sure didn't last long and it seems like a really sudden leave since she was one of the NGP members they opened a blog for (and she's been posting on it ) . They're down to four members and have moved back to their original agency, Space Craft. I think this implies that they're also no longer part of Nice Girl Project.

But the members all got shiny new web pages and blogs.

Niwa Mikiho's web page

And her blog

Ogawa Mana's web page

And her blog

Oura Ikiko's web page

And her blog

Takada Ayumi's web page

And her blog (which is murder on the eyes)

Whoa, they had seven members the last time they released something! I clearly missed a lot of member departures. I hope the agency move and shiny new blogs means they're gearing up to release again. They're such a great group, it's a shame they barely get any releases. Even Mana hasn't released anything solo in a while right?

They had two members leave in May, and for some reason Chiichan isn't on the website, so I'm assuming she left too even though she's still using that blog.

Mana's last release was a year ago and Canary Club's last release was about a year ago as well. They were really wrapped up with all that anime stuff in NGP last year and it seems like everything else got put on the back burner. I wish Tsunku would utilize them better.

And speaking of Tsunku:

Tsunku is going to have his own show, Tsuntube.

Renowned producer Tsunku♂ is set to begin a new entertainment show on ‘MXTV‘, focusing on music, games, anime, idols, software, and manga.

The show’s content will shine a spotlight on Japan’s core entertainment that has recently been gathering attention worldwide, and in keeping with the late night show tradition, will also feature appearances from many beautiful girls.

As the main personality, each week Tsunku♂ will touch upon different themes and focus on connecting to them along with the viewers. The show will also be organized into various mini corners introducing core information.

Moreover, keeping in line with the show’s title, a number of the back episodes will be uploaded to YouTube, and in accordance with today’s evolving lifestyles, fans will be able to watch a large number of the shows in their free time, outside of the normal broadcast.

Two characters will also be featured as the main image of the show, website, and Twitter: ‘Otakku-shi‘, a symbol capturing the feel of today’s cool otaku, and ‘TsunKuma‘, a bear made to resemble Tsunku♂.

The show will begin broadcasting on Tokyo MXTV on July 1st, and will air every Friday from 2:00 AM-2:30 AM (JST).

Because you just can't ever get enough Tsunku.
