I finally got a chance to watch it, and yes, I was very happy about this. Sayuki is my immediate favorite, but I am super impressed with all the girls, both with singing and dancing, so I'm glad the line distribution is pretty good, and they all got pretty much equal screen time.



The dance is a lot more hardcore than I expected and I LOVE IT.

I can tell already that we're going to be seeing entirely too much of her face and she's going to get the Riho treatment, but in Karin's case, I'm pretty OK with this.

Vocally, they're all pretty good.

Yuuka is my Junx2v2.0, except she gets screentime (and though it's doubtful her personality is anywhere near so rad as Junjun's I'll take it.)



Not digging the sax, but somehow, this boring PV became watchable. It's probably because the camerawork was good and the group is new to the eyes.

From that video on their YT channel, I think Yuka has the most work to do vocally, Akari is not as good as the others but I bet she'll be able to catch up.

Oh I love Tomoko so much. She has the same color as my beloved Maimi, she has great voice and her gaze emits such strong aura. Her face expression varies much more than Maimi. I don't see the hype on Karin, but her live performance is better than what she did in the MV. I can't deny that she has the best face out of all the girls, though I don't like her eyes that much. And through some videos I have the feeling that Karin's personality is a bit fake. I don't see the smile in her eyes. I wish Tomoko was discovered earlier, then she would have been bigger than Karin by now. Too bad considering her age, Japanese audience may not be too fond of her (too "old" for them). I hope she stays around for at least 4 years. Besides Tomoko, I like Aina a lot. Her face was ugly as I thought at first, but her voice is so cute , yet not too high pitched, It is just... cute and has a special tone in it that draws me in. The more I love her voice, the more I look at her, the more I love her face. She is my second favorite by now. Sayuki is also cute, I love her dancing and face expression in the live performance, but not that much in the MV. However, I prefer her to Karin and if one of them has to be the center and if Tomoko or Aina can't be it, then I would rather have Sayuki at center than Karin.

I need to tip my hat off to Rob - Karin did stand out in the MV in the best way possible. Both visually and vocally. I was unsure about the latter because I don't know their voices, but after confirming with the MV she's definitely the strongest voice in the group and worthy of major groups.



On the other hand, the MV itself... UF has now officially mastered the "plain" look. I don't think anything can ever surpass this MV in terms of plainness, short of maybe shooting against green screen and keying everything out. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' />



But as some people have mentioned, it is still appealing at the same time, with the photography / camera moves and editing. And it's only a little bit frustrating that UF seems to have all the elements of a great MV, but can never seem to put them in one production. But I keep my fingers crossed.

The plain can be good, I just hope they don't KEEP doing it, variety is the spice of life after all.



A little OT but if you take MM's new video Kimi etctec it would have been a THOUSAND times better to take that video and just get a bunch of strangers/actors/dancers on the streets of Japan to dance about and be silly.

Anyway, I feel like this video works because it's just interesting to see the girls themselves at first. Just want to point out I was never the one to bash you for your Karin love. In fact, I was equally amused by both your ravings about her as well as by people getting pissed off about your ravings. They've beaten both of the indie Satoyama singles (DIY sold 1,807 copies; Peaberry sold 2,171 copies). I can't find any sales numbers for the first two S/mileage singles (I guess they were so low that they didn't chart?), but Sukichan sold 399 copies and Otona ni Narutte Muzukashii!!! sold 2,290 copies (total).

My impression from that is that Sayuki gives dancing 200% and Yuka is totally half assing it.

I got that impression from Sayuki as well, though Yuka was the only one who wasn't an Egg, so I think she just sucks temporarily.

Yuka isn't half assing it, she is literally just half as good as the others at the moment. In fact I think she has even apologized for not being good enough at a previous live show.
