On the website for submitting the photos, there was a note in the fine print saying if you submitted your photo, you were allowing them to edit the color. I wish we could see it more close-up though, because the color editing is so heavy you can barely tell actual photos were used =/

edit: aaand I got distracted and completely forgot to say CONGRATS S/MILEAGE! Their speeches were so cute, especially Saki choking up. And I hope Dawa (was it Dawa? Or Maeda I've already forgotten @_@) is right and they surpass all other girl groups someday. I can dream, okay xD

In that video they cut out the part where they had 20 photos to fill up the empty space and put them all up, until there were 4 spots left. But one of the dummy idols accidentally put up an extra, so there were only three spots. Everyone laughed and she peeled it off. Then they rock paper scissored to see the order of who got to put up the last four.



It was cute.

On the video screen at the concert, you could see the individual pictures. They were in fact heavily discolored, but there were clearly faces there.

Bah, I didn't see (aka: couldn't read) the fine print. I was thinking I would be in the tree trunk because my picture was so dark, but now I'm not sure. XD

@Haru: Apparently each picture was tinted a certain color to form the overall mosaic.



(Regarding the smilers, I wonder if they will put out an end roll like they did with the voters who decided Nacchi/Maimi's "16sai no Koi Nante" single?)

You can see the individual pictures more clearly in this video clip of the girls showing off the pictures they had gotten from the hosts of "Omoikkiri Pon" on the previous March 8th show. Or you can download it from H!O's tracker in a big ol' resolution.







Don't worry, I'm sure they got rid of the gaijin pictures since they received 6000 more than they needed.

EDIT that nobody will see because it won't bump the thread: On the current Bijo Whatever that's airing, they have more S/mileage coverage like last week. It's quite a bit of footage of the girls in the studio putting the pictures on the empty board for hours, then they have a a bunch of footage from the concert (including stuff we've already seen on youtube, yay?). So you'll want to download if you're all into the smile campaign.
