Why is she even there? After watching that footage, it's clear that Tsunku made the right choice. Sakura was so much better than the other finalists.



I was impressed with Yumeno's singing, however. Hope to see more of her in the future.



Feel bad for Ayano, but I have to say she's the cutest thing I've ever seen. Have to believe UFA has plans for her.

Koharu sang a lot more in the c/w originally, but that studio footage sounded vulgar. The stuff they play on a nice early show like Hello! Also, not related to lines in the song, but Maki got her own mini story associated with Love Machine's release if you watch the full version of the PV. They obviously knew to make a big deal about her even before it became the best selling MM single ever. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> (basically, for anyone who hasnt seen it, it was about... nevermind, here's the 9 minute version of the PV.



I like this new girl, she sort of has this ability to channel the voices of other MM members. I saw her impersonations, but even listening to her audition clips, I could hear past members, which was probably unintentional.

I think it's because they used to be able to go outside whenever they wanted (you know, having free will) but as soon as they join H!P, they are protected from things like crazy fans, normal people and the sun.

Also the Japanese obsession with whiteness = beauty, particularly with celebrities and idols. A lot of idols/models/etc will go to stupid lengths to not get even slightly brown. Arashi's leader gets in trouble with their manager regularly for standing out too much when he gets a tan from fishing. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> Even Harunan says stuff like "I'm already naturally dark so I bring sunscreen with me everywhere!" =/

I doubt any member will ever top Maki's joining the group. She joined, recorded Love Machine and was performing with them in concert in something like 10 days.

I'm beginning to wonder if she's the one Sayu didn't want picked for the group, because damn, Sayu's blog post introducing her is pretty much, "Here's a new girl. Tsunku said she's in the group now." Sayu definitely has her favorites, and it looks like new girl's going to be sitting in a corner with Zukki while Sayu spoils her lolis.

It was either an event or a radio show where she said she watched the audition footage and said there was one girl in it that wouldn't fit the group.

Apparently it was whilst in Hawaii so it was based on the first Satoyama footage but she also said alongside that she wanted a good singer to join. I don't think she said anything about there being someone she didn't want though, if anyone's better at translating than me I think the comments are about halfway down?

By Love Machine era, there were still 2 albums and 6 singles with Bsides, way more than 1 concert would hold, I doubt that 9th & 10th era have had to learn all of the past era songs at once. I don't know if there are more songs the new girls have to cram.



In Maki's day, they certainly had to be ready for TV performances more than the girls now, since people cared about MM and sometimes having multiple episodes devoted the same single. So I think, Maki had no choice but to be a ready out of the box, no assembly necessary idol. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />

I finally watched the audition footage, even though I said I liked her at first, the other Reina was not good.

I would probably have rooted for Ayano, Yumeno, and Sakura. Even though I think Ayano fits S/uma.

I also think that Yumeno should have been added too, I like her :( She had a nice voice.

Only saw Sakura's footage so I'm absolutely biased. She's not a living doll but has talent and potential. Sakura has a charm about her. She does look like dawa but with the first smileage member who graduated undertones. Miss her. Momusu is beginning to look more and more like a soild group and I think the next major anouncements will be graduation(s). Please no more auditions til 2015 at least.

Oh gosh no, we'd end up in the horrible predicament like we had this time if no girls were added for 3 years. I think they should hold auditions at the end of 2013, then the girls we be added at the beginning of 2014.

The horrible predicament wasn't all due to the fact that they waited for so long after the eighth generation. It was also because the 7th and 8th generations left way earlier than they should have.
