This is fucking horrendous, I can't even listen to it. The vocals make me want to shoot myself in the face, as usual with their recent stuff. They're so processed, high-pitched and just plain grating, its embarrassing. The synths have way too much treble, as is also usual with pretty much anything H!P in the last year or two. Its pretty solid that I'm never going to like anything from them again and I am embarrassed to even be associated with their fandom anymore. Also hilarious they're making 75 versions of the single again to get more sales. Carry on with the regularly scheduled non-stop praise for terrible music™ <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... adwall.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':headwall:' />
I was thinking this yesterday, but then I remember, I'm not really a fan anymore, so it doesn't bother me! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... stling.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' /> I feel like after a certain point, fans just started accepting they weren't ever going to be as good (songs, characters, diversity) as they were in the Golden Era and left. Then, the new fans came in after it was all over and never had as high expectations as some of the members that have been here the last 10 years or way longer. I know I still follow the group only to see if things will change (For me, after Kamei left, it was never as good!), but I never listen to the songs more than a few times before they are forgotten. Albums I don't even bother with (The last one I liked was Rainbow 7). The members aren't as displayed as they used to be, and it's hard to see people's characters anymore... everyone just blends into one, which is good from a group standpoint, but it's not why I like Morning Musume.

BUT saying that, I do think the current group has greatly improved in dancing as a whole. Even Haruna has improved and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb anymore, but I don't tend to notice anyone in particular when they are dancing unless I try to look...

As for Brainstorming, I do not like the dance as much as I have the past couple singles, but I like the song better. I'm glad Reina is finally singing-singing and not using her MM singing voice. She sounds loads better, and I'm a little excited to see how her band pans out. I've never been on the Reina bandwagon (Kamei was my favorite), but I do think she is a decent singer when she is given the chance. While I know Sakura was an egg, I was a little impressed by how well she is fitting in. It's her 2nd single, and they gave her a dance segment with 3 other members. She makes me a little more excited to see how the group will turn out without Reina. I still wish they would use all the members more, and not just a handful.

Also, I was thinking that Kanon is kind of turning into the Kago body-type (which I think has been said before). Why is she getting the shaft when Kago got the push? I assume it has to do with the wota?

Can we have a song that doesn't sound like this sometime soon? The first three singles were okay but now it's getting to be boring.

This song has to have some of the consistently lowest vocals in years and has no grating aspect(save for Haruna's long solo line, but she can't sing), Help Me!! had some grating notes, but not this song.

I actually love this so much. And everyone sounds fantastic including the members I usually can't stan hearing. And Kanon looks and sounds so good. Her dancing has really gotten good.

Watching it fully awake didn't diminish anything for me, either! Wooo! I enjoy this sound so much. I'm sure they'll leave it soon enough, though. Also, this one didn't seem that heavily auto-tuned to me. Maybe I just got used to it?

It's a new game to spot the dance moves from recent singles in this latest one! (Seriously, though, how many moves can their be? Is there an idol dance handbook with names/numbers for each move?) But I'm not complaining!

The dance doesn't seem as intricate as Help Me, but I like the ripple effect/spin thing (technical term from that handbook) they did that swirled into Reina at the end. She sounds really nice here. They all do.

Also, the move throughout the song with one hand on the head reminds me of the "Baby Shark!" song/chant you sing at camp to help kids get rid of energy.

Awesome. Not quite as awesome as Help Me!!, and as many have pointed out it does suffer from trying to be too many songs at once which makes it difficult to instantly get hooked on it... But still awesome. Seriously, what gratifying five singles in a row it makes. I hope this beautiful dream never ends.
Maybe they are still hung up on Kago Ai's scandal, and the whole not associating anything with her. If that's the case, then Kanon isn't going to get a push from looking more like Kago Ai because they'd think that the fans would draw comparissons and that would be associating with Kago. Or at least that's just what I think.

I can see dance moves from "1•2•3" and "WkTk" in this one, but not really any from "Help Me". Maybe that's because I didn't really pay attention to the "Help me" coreography.

Also, do my ears decieve me, or does Masaki actually get a substantial solo line or two in this one? Also, good job Sakura, continue to channel your inner Gaki.

LOL, I hear all the single since One Two Three in this song which is so lulzy, plus some Samui ne.

I will say the Yoshio Kojima referencing made me laugh hard the first time I saw the PV XD...

I think this the strongest lineup of dancers yet...there's just something about it that feels so powerful ever since the 10th Generation had joined.

Already obsessed with this song.

At first I was a little put off by the similarities to their last two songs, but (like the last two songs) it took me a few listens to understand how it all fit together in the overall melody. Everyone looks great and sounds amazing. It figures that Reina's final single is the ONE single that I actually like her in. I think it helped that she and Riho weren't %100 of the focus.

But seriously, guys. Sakura's voice <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

This song is perfect. That is all.

EDIT: Almost perfect. Could use a bit lot more Zukki.

I noticed that, but I decided not to mention it. Now that I think about it, its kind of crazy that the rokkies have been here since the 19th single. Entire generations have arrived and disappeared in that time.

Edit: At one point, all of their member colors are on the screen. Also, does that air guitar move remind anyone of Ayumi's improve part from "STACYS Shoujo Saisatsu Kageki"?

I really like the sound they've had for the past few singles... this one sounds just a little too similar to Help Me!! though.
Yeah, it's cool that they can stick with a sound, but it's getting to the point that it seems like they're trying to revise the same song over and over.

I was listening and thinking that it has to be a joke, they REALLY just shamelessly reused part of Wakuteka, I was seriously waiting for the Dore ga honki de Dore wo shinjiru? to come next. I guess it really is the easiest way to give every girl a line in a verse, but at least change the melody (and the head tilt oh no you didnt-ness of it) if it's just getting used again 2 singles later. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' />

Not to mention the reused intro instrumental part of Help Me!! and then other really obvious moments from that song. Listen carefully at 27 seconds, they even brought in the ONE TWO THREE organ! Oh well, it beats Okubo's Seishun Collection sound.

Is that Sakura at 1:00, sounding like the lead singer of Hair Brained Unity? Not only can she sing like Miki, but also a 30+ year old man.

I like how the song is supposed to be cool and have attitude, but Tsunku still jumps in with his signature WAO! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I love the fight choreography between anonymous red girl and blue blur. I was recently hoping for this actually, but figured it would never happen because in a group this big someone is likely to get hit in the face.

I really like the outfits, I hope the regular PV puts them in an interesting context.

Just a quick note to everyone.

DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS.

ok, as for me... I can hear the similarities between the last few songs but I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing, I think the next single NEEDS to be something slightly different.

I ADORE the dance, I think it could change a little maybe... but overall I love how they dance separately and then snap it together to form a shape as one.

The song is very well arranged, so refreshing to hear idols doing something different, I support your endeavors
tsunku!

The costumes are great, for the sole reason that they don't make Kanon look bloated with boobs the size of balloons. (Check out the pink dress she wore in a recent concert... train wreck)

oh and one more point, anyone who starts a post with the line "I'm not a fan anymore" and then proceeds to write a whole paragraph... you know ain't nobody gonna read that shit so don't waste your time.

I'm fine if they stick with the same sound for a year just for the purpose of a concept album or something, but I hope the b-sides have more variety.

And you just know that dance battle between Riho and Ayumi will be extended and have multiple variations during concerts.

I think it's funny that someone mentioned sticking around for 2 years of "sad violin music" because I was just thinking about this the other day.

I got into Momusu right at the tail-end of the Golden Era and there are things I miss so much about it, but I honestly think what's happening now is a REALLY, REALLY good direction for the group to be headed.

They're not so autotuned and electropopped that they sound like Perfume, but these last few singles (in my opinion) don't sound like any other idol groups out right now.

AKB48 is going with their Onyanko Club pt.2 sound along with all the other idol groups I can think of right now (Passpo, LinQ, other not H!P groups dangit brain what are you doing...?) and Momusu is doing something different. We might not all be on board right now, but I learned the hard way from sitting through when Koharu first joined (and thinking she was the spawn of Satan at the time) and thinking "oh no...the group will never be as good as it was." and now a lot of us look back on those Rainbow Pink days and swoon and think "oh no, the group will never be as good as it was." about THOSE times.

So, I'm not a 100% big PV dance shot dance move nerd or anything, but I'm thinking this song's dance must have a signature move shout-out to everything Reina's ever been in. The formation reminds me of Shabondama, the most recent songs you can definitely see there, and I'm going to assume (because I am lazy and will trust some other autistic person to find this out on their own or for Tsunku to announce it) that there's something in the PV/song that's a shout out to every song Reina's been in in MM. Just continuing the theory everyone else kind of started...?

Anyway, I really like the song, even if the "Loose Ver." leaves much to be desired. Zukki's lookin pretty good, too.

Is that Sakura at the very back with the booming vocals? Because if so I will get behind that second coming of Niigaki thing because reasons.<img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... kowota.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wota:' />

The same thing happens when you write about Karin. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... stling.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

And if you read the first line better, I never said I wasn't a fan. I'm just not a big enough one that I care if their music isn't as enjoyable for me as it once was (aka "Not really a fan anymore").

I liked the song, but this song and their past singles haven't really been heavy hitters like their past singles have been. I like them, but I don't listen to them long afterward, compared to some of their older songs that I can still listen to for months or years after release. As for the sound, well, we get that sound on singles but the b-sides always have a variety with interesting couplings (for better or worse on those though hahaha)

So FUCK YOUR MULTIPLE EDITIONS HATE AEUG because we get DIFFERENT B-SIDES FOR EACH ONE so it's like getting a GODDAMN MINI ALBUM EVERY SINGLE RELEASE. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/geof.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':geof:' />

And by the way, thanks for all the Koharu love you showed in the other thread, because hearing you complain about grating vocals on this song provided much need laughs after a stressful day.

But I did love Kanon doing her thang, and Sakura pretty much being the greatest gift to musume since Gomaki. The outfits aren't bad, it's just hard to see everyone. In fact, anything is better than pink tulle and leopard print skirts. :/

I have to agree on that this isn't really listenable long term. I mean, the last single I've still been able to listen to multiple times in a row is Renai Hunter. This could also be because we don't get a radio rip that's taken down in a week we have this song for like two months beforehand. So then we get sick of it by the time it is released.

It's just okay. I hope (and believe) that this is not the main song of the double-A side. I think the main song would feature Reina's voice more.

I like the MV, but the faraway shots, combined with the low quality of the video, make it hard to tell the girls apart. Sakura is pretty much invisible.

Choreography is strong but doesn't have the immediate impact of the last few singles. Had to watch it a few times to appreciate it.

Big pluses are the costumes and the surprisingly equitable line distribution. Also enjoyed the Riho/Ayumi dance battle, I was kind of wondering why they didn't do that sooner.

This might not be true, but I think Reina and Masaki have one solo line that is exactly the same.

On closer inspection of the outfits, the color distribution is uneven. There is one more red than blue. Don't know about you, but that sort of thing just bothers me; it needs to be even. My proposed solution: make Reina's outfit a different color. Not a random color, but a color that goes with blue and red, like white. I might even go for red and blue merged, so maybe even purple for Reina. Or maybe even Reina in white and the rest in her aqua blue. (Ignore that last one. Just me trying to convey how I think this last single should feature her more.)

I agree with Mukuro, because we are getting the full hq songs so early, by the time it actually comes out I've listened to it a million times.

Why are you guys comparing Kago and Kanon? They are 2 completely different people. They don't even have the same personality type, or vocal abilities, and Kago had Tsuji. They are/were under completely different circumstances and they aren't similar in type that much either.

Just a guess... ブレスト?

Also, I semi-disagree about high quality rips making us sick of singles by release date. Yes there is a such thing as overplaying a song, but the song itself might just not have the staying power to survive past the initial excitement one has for it. In years past, I've played songs way way more than necessary or reasonable and they survived well past the release date.

Yeah, I'm talking about 2004 H!P, so what?

Can we have a song that doesn't sound like this sometime soon? The first three singles were okay but now it's getting to be boring.

No, stfu. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /noway.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':noway:' />

Yes sir. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' />

Don't get me wrong, the other songs grew on me so this one likely will as well...just wish they didn't have like...nearly THE EXACT SAME SOUND. Wakuteka and Help me!! were different, but Help me!! and Brainstorming are like nearly identical.

also Makky welcome to the forum I like you very much.

haha, thanks, I guess, Haru? Not sure how to take that, so I will say thank you.

I'm not actually new; I joined a long time ago, but I am a rather (not) notorious lurker...I'm sorry.

And to those complaining: at least it's not Egao YES Nude. (much as I shamefully like that song)

I LOVE Egao YES Nude! >_<

This single is the first one since Gaki has left that caught my attention. The last few have been a blur because they bored me initially and I didn't care to look into any more after that. But Brainstorming caught my attention right away. The way the girls sing in more powerful voices is cool and since I mainly listen to edm music now, I was really digging the beat. I got goosebumps guys. I'm sad Reina is leaving because this is awesome and she was so awesome, but this also made me excited for what's to come, and I haven't felt that way in so long.

I mentioned this on Facebook, but I am going to call this song BREASTO for the rest of my days.

And yeah, if this does become a concept album as Al suggested I can get behind the similar style. BUT "Renai Hunter" and I believe (but could be wrong) "One Two Three" were on thirteen so that kind of kills that idea for me.

I also love the Riho/Ayumi dance battle. And line distribution is great on this. But the song AND dance are just too much of "generic past several single" mashup for me to get super into.

They were both on thirteen.
