But actually Morning Musume would probably make sense because then I'd have at least one member that I can actually communicate with without a translator. (I know I'm taking this question too seriously...)

So... My answer for that would be Eripon. In the audition I thought she was ugly and terrible and even though she's still terrible now I think she's really cute and she became one of my favorite members before MajiDesu even came out. She won me over quick.

I feel like I don't know anyone on the BBS well enough to answer that. But a for H!P members, I distinctly remember writing a blog post during the 9th gen auditions and calling Kanon ugly, and clearly you see how that's turned out for me.

Yes, the only time was at the MM concert at Anime Expo in 2009, along with Tsunku and Yossie and Rika. I guess that means i haven't seen any current H!P members then :(

Yes, after the handshake of C-ute at Japan Expo 2013. I left right after the end of the handshake (1st), was slowly walking in the hall while playing with my 3DS so I didn't see they were behind me to visit the convention. I was one of the last person at the handshake and wore a Kilari cosplay so they recognize me when they walked next to me. All of them waved, smiled and thanked me (for coming I guess). I felt a bit stupid because I stopped walking because of the surprise but was soo happy !

I might have actually :D I was at Sakura Con in 2011 when Berryz Koubou was there, but I had no idea who they were at that time. I was walking through the hall with my Dad and these security guards needed to get by and were escorting a group of people and thinking back on it, I think it was Berryz Koubou.

Well I saw Morning Musume at Anime Expo, Tsunku and Hitomi was there too! Yay! And then I saw Berryz in New Jersey and I remember we all went to eat the night before the con and Berryz was eating dinner in the same restaurant. If that wasn't awkward, I don't know what was.. It was the only place to eat within walking distance of the hotel so pretty much half the North American H!P fandom was crammed into the restaurant and who was over in the next booth but Berryz and their crew. It was absolute chaos! No wonder they never came back after that. xD 
 
Saw Kikkawa Yuu in Atlanta and me and TnB ran into her the night before as she was at the mall shopping. And then Morning Musume in NYC. Didn't see Tsunku though. Wish I did. :<
 
As for non stalker type meetings. In Japan I had handshakes with C-ute and Juice=Juice after their Naruchika concerts, and photos with both C-ute and Sakura. Two with Sakura because my first one turned out dark so they let you go again. :)

I saw Morning Musume in NYC, and went to the handshake afterwards. I was so starstruck I couldn't say anything to most of them. I struggled to tell Sakura, in Japanese, that her English was good. (Obviously I knew how to say that, but I was so afraid of accidentally messing up I said it veerrryyyyyy slowwwwllyyy). And when I shook hands with Haruna I pointed at my yellow shirt and said "Honey!". But that was it -- I just stared at everyone else and smiled stupidly. :D I think Sayumi looked at me a little funny wondering why I wasn't talking. :P But Mizuki did call me "cute!" (and I thanked her), which totally made my day and I'll never forget it.

This was huge because it was long before handshake events and Hello Project members being really accessible to the fans:
 
It was in 2003, and I was living in the Kansai area, and there was an HP concert in Nagoya which was only about an hour away by bullet train. After the concert I went back to the station to catch the bullet train, and when I got to the turnstiles where you put in your ticket, some girls were walking up at the same time, so I let them through first. One turned to me and said "Thanks" in English, and it was Mika from Mini-Moni/Coconuts, and then behind her came the rest of HP! I nodded to them as they all passed in a kind of "holy shit!" daze, and after they passed went in myself. I was walking up the stairs to the Shinkansen, and there was a girl in front of me carrying one of those hard shell travel bags with the wheels and handle up the stairs. She dropped it and I grabbed it as if tumbled down the couple of steps and handed it back to her. She thanked me and it was freaking Maki Goto!!! And this was a time when I was absolutely 100% in love with her, so of course I was speechless. After that I went to the train platform and waited for my train while standing a meter away from nearly the entirety from HP. I even got to chat a little with Ayaka and Mai Satoda, who recognized me from Country Musume fanclub events until their train arrived. Definitely one of the highlights of my fandom.
