Also, no Rio?! And five members is WAY more than I wanted. I wanted them to be a smaller group.





Meimi and Akari are cute but Kosuga and Nakanishi are both going to need some serious work. And I demand they slap Reina hair on Katsuta to even out those eyes of hers.

Yay for Akari though! She was the only other one I remembered - particularly after watching the H!P winter concert last night and seeing her perform. I actually didn't care for Meimi, her voice was annoying and she was too over the top. The rest I don't remember at all.



This whole sub member is stupidly confusing. They can become....literally anything! Great, thanks for the complete lack of actual info, Tsunku.



Any word on the other announcements? Or were they just relating to the sub member thing?

I can't believe Meimi got in. I know it's not unlike Tsunku to pick untalented girls, but she was just grating in spite of however cute she may be.



I really adored S/mileage, too. D: They were a consistently good H!P group, which is (arguably) hard to come by...



A point to bring up is how much UFA seems to put these poor girls through. First they're formed, then they release some indies singles, then they're threatened with indefinite hiatus, made to scour city streets and practically beg people to send them smiles and save them from disbandment, were forced to cut their hair (in spite of whatever they thought of it) and then, the four bonded girls who have worked together through these difficulties to become the successful unit they are (were?) are told, seemingly with the fans, that new members will be joining their group and will be getting a free ride on their efforts and accomplishments (not to mention be untrained and hold the group back).

It just seems like they get shat on a particular lot, I feel really sorry for them. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... pyeyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':puppyeyes:' />



Maybe this will be a good thing...?

If the 'lower members' serve as back-up dancers like old S/mileage had been for Mano, I could see this working...

Morning Musume doesn't have sub-members though! But it would suck to be an egg and then told by Tsunku that you're going back to eggs. I don't see these girls as getting free rides since they'll have to prove their worth before they can become official S/mileage members.



But anyway, Meimi and Akari!



Meimi may sound like she's sucking on helium, but with proper training she's got the perfect voice for anime work. (Which S/mileage have been known to do.) Though I'd like to hear what she sounds like while talking in a natural deep voice.



Sucks hard core about Karin, but if Tsunku couldn't see her talent during that audition then he's about as broke as you all think S/mileage is. I too hold out hope that he'll be putting her into Morning Musume at this point, or soloist. Sorry for the Mano hate, but H!P could use another soloist.





If I couldn't have Karin, I'm glad Akari is there. Rina is unfortunate, but maybe she'll grow into her face? Reina did, it's possible!

Fukuya and Kana are pretty girls, with some training they could do just fine. Especially Fukuya, she can be the Sayumi/Konno of the group. But with a tragic name that doesn't sound good in english.

I think Tsunku added Kana just so he could have someone sing ○○ Ganbaranakutemo Eenende!! correctly.



Like anything in H!P, I'll give Tsunku a benefit of a doubt before casting judgement.



Considering Akari's the Genki Musume girl, I wonder why Tsunku didn't add her to Morning Musume since it's the genki 10 gen audition.
