I'm not sure if you mean daily or weekly, but OTT didn't rank one for either. Shouganai Yume Oibito was the last number one single they had.

This can be said about everything this week, as usual with H!P, they never release stuff on days when significant artists are also releasing things. This time they had a Kpop sub-group, some anime songs, and an irrelevant early 2000s group to contend with. Big shit <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nceman.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':danceman:' /> Timing is everything when it comes to Oricon, unless you're AKB. H!P always chickens out and plans to release when no relevant artists are releasing stuff, and the Kpop boom is on its way out in Japan right now. All the lesser-known idols even have the balls to release their stuff on days when 3 or 4 other idol groups are releasing as well.

I don't think it's fair to single out H!P in this regard. Most all artists play the Oricon strategy game unless they're either such absurdly good sellers they always do well (AKB/Arashi) or they know they're not going to sell that well and it doesn't much matter. Even some of the people in these categories play the game sometimes too. Plenty of it goes on behind the scenes as well. No one is really innocent and sweet when it comes to Oricon.

H!P have released many singles during weeks where they have to go up against idols/groups they have no chance of beating. I've seen several groups get number ones with lower sales that are close to what Morning Musume sell because they waited until slower weeks. One Two Three sold 100k and only ranked 3 because they chose such a high competition week.

+1, and a load of bull on the claim H!P only releases on slow weeks; on nearly all occasions in the recent weeks they were against the likes of Johnny's, Ayu, 48, or whatnot.

I'm not saying they're all good, haha. Most of them are actually crap, but most of them actually seek out competition in regards to their releases and release their stuff on dates when other similar artists are also releasing to create much more direct competition, and I respect that.

For complicated reasons I can't buy the single off of iTunes for at least another week or so, and I'm literally DYING to hear a high quality version of this damn song until then.

I feel like Mizuki's been on TV a lot lately, and I'm so glad Masaki has the bangs back. Keep that forehead hidden girl.

Down to number 4 today, with 3 selling 7260. They do have a big event on the 27th, though, so hopefully sales will be good that day. Also, the Kenshuushei will be opening at the Osaka Senri SELCY event.

So I finally got the B-sides and I kind of like them....better than Wakuteka's for sure...but I'm not sure it's as good as One Two Three.

HOWEVER, why can't people upload a good 320 rip of Help me!!? I'm still ending up with the crappy LQ version...please don't tell me it's supposed to sound this horrid x.x

My rip sounds fine, Solarblade.

But to be fair, I realized what's been bothering me all along about Help me!! ... I just wish it were sung by better singers. D: I hate to say it, but this could be SUCH a good song with voices like Takahashi or Fujimoto behind it. Every time the chorus kicks in, and especially at the end of the chorus with that long shout they give, everyone just sounds high and too loud and just baaad. It's distracting. So maybe it's not the rip, but just the song bothering you?

EDIT: Maybe a harmony with lower voices/notes would make the chorus sound less high/loud/whatever? I don't know enough about music to tell, but it's always been really jarring to me.
