A smiles campaign for the S/mileage sub-members have been announced. For anyone who doesn’t know, in order to debut as a group the original S/mileage members had to collect pictures of everyone smiling and if they collected enough smiles they were given their debut. Now the sub-members are expected to do the same however there is a twist to it this time.
Each sub-member is to travel to a different town on her own and take a photo with someone, that person will need to upload their photo onto their blog, social network site (Facebook, Mixi) or Twitter.
Tsunku will be judging them on this campaign and the results will be announced on 10/16 so from this point on they’ll be extremely busy.

It's nice that they're trying to stay hip and fresh and all by taking advantage of social networking...but how do they plan to track this? The twitter hashtag is good, but how will they keep track of Facebook, blog, and mixi posts? It seems unnecessarily complicated.
I'd take a new group with Karin over anything else. As long as Popeye isn't in it. (But if she is, I'll get over it since I can't seem to remember her after I see her.)
This is a place where a signature goes. Enjoy some Airi instead.
Oh well. There's always the next H!P concert to come along and shake things up. Maybe your Karin news will be left for such an event Al? Or the next H!P Egg concert. I know they have a fan event coming up in November, but I doubt they'd make big news then.
And I'm sure that new S/mileage single sounds half way decent in Japanese complete with little postman uniforms and a homage to the Beatles and it'll be awesome. If not, Tsunku is dead to me.
But S/mileage... As long as Kanon, Yuuka, Meimi, Kana and Akari are there I don't mind. Considering that's half of S/mileage I guess I'm still a fan. :D

OH GOD. What is happening to my favorite H!P Group?? Tsunku, dude man, what were you thinking? That is probably one of the worst song titles I've ever heard.
I'm sad (AGAIN) at the lack of Karin news, but I guess it was only a rumor anyway =/
As for the sub-members, I'm not really surprised. When S/mileage had to collect pictures of smiles in order to debut, was anyone legitimately worried they might not get their major debut? I kind of assumed the thing with the sub-members was just another publicity stunt along the same lines, trying to get the girls' names out there. I'm glad they all made it, because it would be stupid for some to make it and to have the rest dancing around in the background pointlessly. The whole thing seems like a pointless stunt - they should have been added to the group right away without ever bothering with this whole "sub member" business. What makes someone a "sub" member anyway? The fact that they dance in the background and don't get lines? By that standard, JunJun, LinLin, Kanon, Erina, and Mizuki were all demoted to sub-member after their first single, and Aika spent quite a while being one as well. =_=
I really know almost nothing about these girls though, so as long as S/mileage keeps putting out good music I don't really care what's done with them. Tachiagaaru was a good song, no matter how useless the sub-members were in the song & pv.
There's only one thing to do now that Katsuta is in for good. Slap some Reina hair on her and hope those features work themselves out once she gets older.
And no news on Karin, I've been waiting for October 16th for over two weeks and now.... nothing??
I wouldn't want to be Karin right now, she must feel terrible, Haruka is in Morning Musume and Akari is in S/mileage and she is..... doing a whole lot of nothing!

I totally agree. :( The only thing is, at least, she still has Sayuki and Nanami. :) I'm secretly hoping, since she didn't make either group (although, I still don't know if she really auditioned for MoMusu, as I never saw confirmation anywhere, but I was really busy during MoMusu auditions), that those three make a new group of awesome. I love all three girls, and think they're both awesome.
BUT! On the note of the new members, I totally expected them all to make it, though I was bracing myself for another Tsunku shock, and I'm thrilled they all made it. :D I'm buying a set of Tachiagaaru photos ASAP, and I couldn't be happier for those girls. :D They're all so awesome and I'm super pumped for the new single. :D
I must say, I'm really, really glad Fuu-chan didn't make it. I didn't like her at all during any of the auditions or anything and, while I hope she gets help with her anemia and gets it controlled ASAP, I didn't think she was nearly as talented as the others, nor cute. (I'm sorry!!!!! ;www; It's just my personal opinion of her. She seems super freaking nice in person, and kind, but I just wasn't ready for her type in S/mileage whatever her type is. XD)
I'm thrilled with a 7-nin S/mileage. It's what I wanted when he said he was adding to the group, so yay in my head. :D

During the clip of the 4 of them singing Yume Miru 15, seems like Meimei's voice has become less squeaky, and Take-chan's weird vibrato thing that bothers some people isn't as strong anymore.
But that wasn't a new announcement. That play was originally coming out earlier this year, but they cancelled it because of the quakes. This is just it being rescheduled.
