In 2009, I predict that Aya will fracture her toe! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... stling.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':dammit:' />

Even though the new year started 18 days ago, I think it will still be fun to come up with some predictions based on... Whatever floats in your brain!

-Morning Musume will hopefully add a korean this year to their group.

-Berryz Koubou and C-ute will have another joint concert and and actual joint single (please!) instead of the 2 different versions of a b-side.

-I'm also kinda hoping that since Elder Club will be out of the picture, maybe Tsunku will do shuffle units again. Yeah, I think that will never happen, but since MM, BK, and C-ute actually sells better than anyone else, I think shuffle units wouldn't be such a bad idea.

-I'm still wishing for one last H.P. All Stars single again. THERE'S STILL TIME LEFT!

-Mano Erina would probably have a debut major single.

Predictions...

- Leaving annoucement from one of the MM members (Takahashi or Niigaki) will be done by the end of the year.

- Mano Erina solo debut by June.

- Niigaki acting in a Drama.

- Few presence from Elder members.

Tsunku will almost completely pass song creation onto other people.

Maybe temporarily, but I think we'll see less and less of him in 2009.

If they aren't going to be permanent, expect a sort of hANGRY & ANGRY spin-off group, same formula (It will of course keep the flirting and kissing) but no expensive kitties.

Satoda will leave UFA. Erika will leave UFA, Maeda Yuki will stick around.

Ongaku Gatas girls will be shuffled around in other new groups.

At least one really wacky CD cover, something that makes Onegai Miwaku no Target look mundane.

Eri gets pregnant.

Risa sticks around to annoy you.

Koharu graduates to full-time solo. Takahashi stabs somebody.

BerryZ will have a controversial single.

C-ute will stick with what they've been doing.

Buono will take over the world.

Aya will get a rock song with crazy makeup & hair. For the PV, imagine KISS + Kabuki.

Nacchi gets an R&B single by AKIRA. Makoto will actually sing in a song. (maybe something with all the other MM castaways)

Miki is back for blood!

Melon Kinenbi will show up in more plays and B-movies, but this time they'll get a single to be the theme song.

Someone will graduate from MM, but I dont think it will be at all predictable who it will be. But it will be under predictable circumstances, aka 'wanting to go solo' and never hearing anything from them again. Then 5 years later they go solo in a porn, or something.

Probably an MM grad this year, maybe a new addition, too. BK will get better songs, C-ute will do more of the same. I think a few HP Eggs will get a decent push this year, at least an "indies group" formation (think C-ute circa late 2005), which will set up a big 2010 for said group.

Likely eggs for a push: Maeda Yuuka, Kikkawa Yuu, Ogawa Saki, Fukuda Kanon, Maeda Irori, Okai Asuna

- at least two more random anime tie ins

- someone from generation 6, 7, 8, or generation panda graduates or has a scandal

- Erina Mano debuts but sells are VERY dismal

- MKB, Yuki Maeda, and Yuko don't release anything

- Someone in Berryz or C-ute will do a PB and everyone will flip over how pedo it is

- The chance of a new MM generation in 2009 is probably not higher than one in three. But if 2 members leave this year, we'll see a new gen by early 2010 or even earlier.

- The price of official shop items will go up.

-Some tie in to South Korea: either a Korean group or addition of another "exchange student"

-New unit will be cobbled together using Eggs and Cute/Berryz. Maybe another anime tie-in.

-return of shuffles between Eggs, Kids, and MM. The old M club not invited.

-Nakazawa gets married.

-Koharu boyfriend scandal.

Oh and also, the China girls will graduate to make room for a Korean or Taiwanese girl.

I can't think of anything else, since it is and has always been about as unpredictable as things can get. It seems most people just turn this into a "wish list" more than a predictions thread.

I'm surprised nobody predicted that Yorosen! will be cancelled (or simply not renewed). That would be my guess.

Heh my list is not a wishlist. I do not wish for worse MM singles but well that's the tendency now. I agree, another kid group (as in 12-year-olds) is quite possible.

Though if they add Korean(s) to MM I will pronounce the end of my MM.

That's already been predicted by Japanese Wota.

On one of my friends mixi's he did a breakdown with the post title "yorosen to close in 6 months too!!!" As Haromoni@ and Berikyuu both only had 6 month runs. And going by the current teacher format (though this was a couple of weeks ago before the yorosen spanning more than a week trend) that's exactly how long it would take to get through everyone as teacher.

I'd love if they added Koreans to Musume. That Korean girl from the Happy 8 audition was pretty good. And hey international musume is fine by me. The wotas would complain at first but then they'd come to love em, like they have with JunLin.

No more graduations after the Elder Club's. And no scandals, even if they are only rumors. On the good end, now that H!P will have a very small line-up, more H!P Egg members better have their debuts and not just be featured in units but are still considered Eggs.

Morning Musume aim to stay nine members for at least most of the year. Berryz Koubou start to become mature in their songs. C-ute and Buono! continue to be awesome. Kirarin Revolution to end so that Koharu can finally use her mature voice to prove the haters wrong. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Erina to be very wonderful.

And it would be nice to see a Momusu, Berryz, or C-ute member get a blog, but considering their insane schedules, it doesn't look like they will be able to... And I want to see at least one H!P member get a role in an anime that is actually worth watching. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Well to put it briefly, I hate Korean music.

By 'music' I mean modern Kpop (not their traditional music). Yes, I've listened to a lot of it (we even have Korean TV), and I've found maybe 2 songs that I somewhat liked. I truly can't stand Kpop, and a Korean in MM for me would be just wrong. I am aware of the fact that it's not the girls who write the music in H!P, and that she'd probably sing in Japanese anyway - but still it's a matter of principles for me.

That doesn't make any sense. You understand that adding a Korean to MM would have no effect on what material they sing, and that they most certainly would not be singing KPop, but it's a matter of principle? What principle?

Yeah, seriously. What the hell principle is that? Racism?

I'm not arguing because I love modern Kpop; most of the stuff in the last 4 years has been extremely boring, unoriginal, and lame, but around 1999-2004 Kpop was a fucking goldmine for good, original music, sometimes even rivaling Jpop, and I'll never forget that. Besides your claim just being really asinine to begin with, that is. A few of the girls in H!P already look like Koreans, so I'm sure a Korean being there wouldn't even stick out, looks-wise, so there's seriously absolutely no reason to dread one being in MM, especially with how boring and standardized they are now.

But you go on point to say that you know the music won't change and that they'll be singing in Japanese... So, basically, you are saying you don't want any Koreans because they come from a place where you don't like the music which, if it isn't racist, is really dumb.

Your friend might want to re-do his math on that one. Haromoni@ started in April 2007, and ended at the end of September last year.
