Does anybody have a longer & high-quality version of "the song" ? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31LLTrFkTAY)

I know it's very similar to All Along the Watchtower (or even a cover), but the version they play with the piano, guitar and drums just sounds an infinite times better.

I'm just watching s04e19, only 3 more to go after that. =(

EDIT:

Nevermind, actually found it !

But still, if somebody has an instrumental version (or more metal than these two versions... version), I'd be happy to get my hands on it.

I want to say there's an instrumental version of All Along the Watchtower (in addition to the version with vocals) on the season 3 soundtrack, it's just called something else. I just downloaded it the other day, and I thiiiink I kept that one but I can't remember =/ I'll check when I get home, but if I don't have it you can check The Pirate Bay tracker to get all of the BSG soundtracks.

I skipped through the S03 OST (18 songs) and couldn't find it.

However, there also doesn't seem to be the All Along the Watchtower lyrics'd version.

That's cos the Season 3 soundtrack has 21 tracks, the last 2 of which are the instrumental "version" heard as the 4 meet up & realize what they are, followed by the full song w/vocals. HERE'S both, because I am awesome.

As far as I know, there isn't any actual instrumental version of the full song, dunno if that's what you're looking for.

Finally watched the last episode.

(From here on, spoilers and stuff)

I'm really surprised they left Roslin live this long. I always though she'll be dying considering the prophecy/scriptures/etc.

I never liked here too much, but not as a character, but because the actress had this facial express from time to time, that I absolutely disliked.

Saul is definitely my #1 character. At first I quite disliked him as he seemed like a male I-know-everything-better-than-you bitch.

However, he really turned out to be an extremely distinctive character and he saying "Skinjobs" and screaming "Those fracking TOASTERS !!" always put a smile on my face.

The actor played him ingeniously.

I was surprised they actually told that much about "earth" and what happened afterwards. Most series and movies only have at most 5 mins of the "good ending" stuff in it, but they really told a lot about the people's peacefull future, too much imho.

But what really turned me off was all the religious bullshit they started again and (as much as I dislike her, this is the only character in the whole show that I actually disliked) starbuck suddenly disappearing. I shook my head when that happened, because it seemed like "Look, we have no explanation as to why she survived etc., so we'll just make her go poof. LOL ! " =/

Would have made more sense if they said she was a cylon or maybe even a human-cylon mixture.

This might sound weird, but I felt like a few more people could have died. I still have the pre-season 4 "Final Revelation/Last Supper" wallper as my desktop background and only ONE (rosling, which was foreseeable) of the 12 depicted characters actually died, except for the one going up in smoke. They were quite trigger-happy with killing a lot of other characters so far, why not kill off some in the last episode to make it have a bigger impact ?

So, a little bit more death here and some less religious crap there and it would have been a perfect ending, because they managed to bring back all of the stuff that still was unanswered and explained them quite well. From all the rl (or "live-action) series I've seen so far this one get's place #3, after Twin Peaks (How is Annie ??) and StarGate SG-1 (perfect fanservice with the last movie).

Now I'm surprised what they are going to show in the upcomming movie.

This is kind of how I felt at first, but the more I thought about it the more I liked it. My interpretation is that she actually died when we first thought she died, and what they've been seeing all this time is basically the same thing as head Blatar and head Six. After reading some other reviews and interviews with the cast and writers, I got the impression that some of the religious stuff is meant to be taken in a broader, more spiritual sense rather than a very literal, Christian take (i.e. all the head characters are angels sent by God). I kind of like them leaving her as "general spiritual figure" because as Ron Moore says, it's too easy and cheap to just say "Oh she was a cylon/cylon creation." With all things spiritual, no one really knows what's out there and what's not and what form it takes, so just as the characters are uncertain, the audience is uncertain.

The one person I think who should have died, as sad as it would be, was Helo. Or at least if he was going to survive, they needed to do more explaining. Athena leaves him screaming that if she does, he'll bleed out and then....nothing else is ever said about that, he's just hanging out on earth with a cane. That was the only survivor who I felt like they really stretched to keep, the rest made sense.

Also, the songs Geof gave you were the exact ones I was thinking of. Sorry for not remembering to grab those for you!

Guess I just dislike religion too much to "appreciate" those ideas in a series. =P

I had a similar feeling when I sad Helo walking around on earth, I thought he could at least have lost a leg or something. lol

He was shoot pretty bad, I doubt he would have survived it in rl.

"being win"...

Anyway, yeah, I was looking for a picture that had a "Fracking toasters !!" of Saul and this one fits quite well.

Has anybody seen the Caprica pilot already ?

What's your opinion ?

I just watched the first few minutes and already thought, this is absolutely NOT Galactica, it seems to take a very different approach to present the BSG universe. Well... except for characters hardcore-bitching with eachother. haha

Finally watched Caprica, and while it's not BSG, it is pretty damn good. I mean, 10 seconds into it and you've already got nekkid boobies and schoolgirls. How's that not good TV?

Not really sure what to think about the role of the Adama family in the whole thing though...

Wow, THIS kinda came out of nowhere.

While I think Bryan Singer's a truly great director & knows how to get things done RIGHT, I'm also a little concerned that he wants to basically pick up the original 70's TV series story/continuity. I mean, I really liked Superman Returns & thought it deserved way more praise, but it WAS basically a remake of the first Christopher Reeve movie instead of the sequel it was intended to be.

On the other hand, I don't think Ron Moore's series should be revisited or expanded on, as I think it's genuinely OVER. Regardless of what anyone thinks of how the show ended, it DID end and I think any attempt to go back would only be self-defeating. I'm not even sure "The Plan" is a good idea. I'll WATCH it, hell yeah, but I don't think it's really needed.

I bet Singer just wants to bring back those Triad uniforms <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/fags.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I don't know how the old series ended or what happened there (I never even saw a single clip from it, only saw pictures of the old Toaster models) and the new series had a clear ending, so I'm sceptical.

If it's about something before the story of BSG, I could see it fitting into canon, but just making a 2-hours version of the series seems kinda useless.

The whole movie thing sounds awful, the 70's show does not need to be revisited for anything other than lolz. I do like the idea of The Plan though. What I've heard about it and what I've seen in the previews looks really interesting and it seems like it might actually show a lot of things that happened before / during the series canon without just being the same exact scenes from a different perspective. This is all my speculation though, so we'll see.

I've been rewatching the series from the beginning over the past few months. There were a lot of small characters that were big at the time that I'd totally forgotten about, and I understand Boomer's progression from "The HUMANS are my people cylons suck" to Cavil's right hand woman a lot better now that I'm revisiting things I'd forgotten about. It makes a big difference watching it all over a few months vs. over the course of 6 years

Yeah, when I read the news about ANOTHER version of BSG, not even a damn year after the show ended, I quite literally facepalmed. There is absolutely no way it come anywhere close to the TV show unless it just goes for out and out parody, making it some kind of 70s sci-fi spoof. Shit, there's still The Plan and Caprica coming out for the TV series.

In related news, the BSG complete series blu-ray box set is pure sexiness.

Pre-ordered the blu-ray a while back. If anything deserves that kind of HD, it's Battlestar.

And wow, I didn't recognize Tricia at first, her face looks different. Not that...the focus of that cover is her face. I kind of want to buy it since I love both of them, but I think the family might be a little concerned.

The Plan was so damn good, one of the best "episodes" of the series. It went places I didn't expect it to, and added a lot to the Cylons that didn't really stand out in the series, such as the Simons. Dean Stockwell is always awesome, but he was badass here. Also, lots of nekkid people.

Have you guys already watched the new Caprica episodes ?

Apparently they re-edited the pilot, but I just skipped through it to remember what happened. (since I saw the original "promo"-pilot last year already)

I'm at episode 3 now and it's interesting.

However, I'm not really sure what to think of all the characters so far. None of them seems extremely likeable or unique so far... well, for the exception of cute beauty Alessandra Toressani of course. :>

She might look like 17, but she's 22 already.
