Buono! Rock n' Buono concert

Post by AEUGNewtype »

This should start my posting of a ridiculous amount of new threads, since there's a lot of stuff we missed in the last month or two.

Earlier this month, they released a Fanclub DVD for Buono of a live show from last August where the entire concert was just Buono, and they performed every song including B-sides and album tracks all the way up to Gachinko de Ikou. The bonus is that for the entire 2nd half of the show, they had a 4-piece live band that was all women, and a lot of the tracks were almost entirely performed live, though a few of them they were playing over a pretty heavy backing track (Renai Rider was most noticeable.) This is what I wish would happen more with the younger idol groups that we love, which actually gives a reason to give a crap about the live shows that get released instead of them just being an extended karaoke outing on a stage.

At the start of the show, they even had Airi, Miyabi, and Momo play a little piece of Nakimushi Shounen on guitar, bass, and drums. Even though they played very badly, its awesome to at least see management giving them enough attention and care to let them try. There's also a little VTR part during the show as well as an extra feature on the DVD where they go into a room and mess around with all those instruments and talk amongst themselves for about 20 minutes in a rehersal sort of environment.

Did anyone else see this? I got this originally just because it was an all-Buono concert and thought I'd watch to see a few of the songs that hadn't been performed live before, but once I saw the live band come out, I about crapped myself.

I saw it and I loved it. I really think they need to go out and do a tour. They get the crowd pumped like no one else in HP.

I loved this. When they came out with the instruments I thought "How cute! I wonder if they'll be any....good. Well, at least they tried." I then spent the rest of the first half enjoying the songs but bothered by the instruments sitting in the background. "Why do they TEMPT me with instruments that are hooked up with no players? It wouldn't be too much trouble to have someone come out and take their spots!"

Then the second half came. I made a face quite similar to this one - and then proceded to do this - . It's awesome that they managed to get an all female group together to perform. Had a very "Girl Power" sort of feeling. Best concert I've seen from H!P kids in a looong time. I wish they would do this more often for the other groups. I know it'd be difficult, especially since they'd have to rearrange most of the songs, but I'd be more apt to buy a DVD if I knew it had a band.

I'm still downloading the DVDISO so I can try to rip the concert for listening. I hate that all the concerts I love are fanclub only. D:

If they could get them to be even remotely competent on those instrument, that would be the awesomest thing in the land of awesome to happen in a very long time.

On Music Japan, they said that was their goal for this year, to play instruments, which leads me to believe that they are going in that direction. I predict a single with them on instruments by the end of the year. I mean come on, if the Kinki Kids can play guitar on their singles, why can't Buono?!

Someone just upped an audio rip of this in the files section, so if you're a privileged member and are interested to hear some of the live band tracks, go get it.

I can't wrap my head around how awesome that would be. I would actually pay money and put up with a few hours amongst the wota to see them play a full concert of even six or seven songs.

Seconded. I've been listening to a lot of their stuff lately and just trying to imagine them playing their respective instrument parts on a live performance of that song and its seriously hard to imagine how awesome it would be. I'd be pretty beside myself and just go into an embarassing, uncontrollable fandom for them even stronger than it already is. God, I hope that day comes.

That's an awesome admission.

(I still haven't watched the concert. It's on my list of things to do one of these days. )
