TV Size of S.O.W. Sense of Wonder:

Sounds like a pretty generic anime song, but I'm sure it'll grow on me after seeing live performances. Not bad at all, though.
How much Puyo Puyo is in this kind of irks me. The PV is about them playing Puyo Puyo, there are multiple lines from PuyoPuyo thrown in, the dance and lyrics are based on Puyo Puyo, and just ugghhh. Whatever though. This song is addicting as hell. Serina looks adorable even though her dancing and her solo line make me want to punch her, Amimi is scary but I love her, and they need to do something with Erika's hair.
Shutup <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> PuyoPuyo is awesome and this song is amazing. I really don't follow Idoling at all, nothing has ever grabbed my attention until this came out. The Puyo tie-in is the least interesting part, but the song is amazing and the PV is pretty cute even though I've still yet to find a good quality version, which is annoying. The B-side is also very good, but very winter-y, which can change the way you feel about the song throughout the year.

I like PuyoPuyo! And the song! The tie-ins are just kind of annoying. Their show has been getting plastered in PuyoPuyo segments too, so I'm kind of sick of it.

Also, if you like the B-Side, listen to the original. Idoling's remixes tend to be really bad. The Snow Celebration one is better than usual, but I still prefer the original. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWgAxYFCnVo

Another album? That's so soon. I hope it has less remixes and more new songs.

Agreed. Petit-Petit really sucked. All of the remixes were like H!P album remixes where they add an extra instrument into the arrangement or make a longer opening/endin, except for like 5 songs instead of one or two.

Also, b-side previews for S.O.W. have been released. I think I like them both better than the A-side:

Don't be afraid

Kishuhen Ecstacy

I'm going to keep posting about Idoling!!! until you guys like them. >:[

You're evil plan is working.

I didn't like Daiji na Mono very much though. Petit was better for me but still a bit of a disappointment.

I like Kishuhen Ecstacy more than the other one. One girl sounds like Sayumi. I like S.O.W. more then them. baby blue's c/ws were much better.

Yeah, I like Kishuhen a lot. :>

And yes, baby blue had aaawesome c/w's.

New news! Even though it's sort of old news: 4th gen finalists!!!

No idea why they're showing them this time around, but they are! Topic with pictures at JPH!P

It's hard for me to pick, as I value girls with personality than pretty girls (As far as Idoling!!! goes), but after looking at the scans, I like 1, 2, 7, 8, 10, 12, and 14. Some of the girls just seem like they might be funny.

They're apparently going to be voted on by the fans in the next round or something? And they're going to introduce themselves at Idoling!!!'s 7th live (At Nakano Sunplaza!) in a few days.

Just like the last album. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... cepalm.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

I wish they'd give us new songs instead of every single song since the last album with pseudo-remixes. I guess they want the albums to help introduce people to Idoling!!!'s discography. :/

But still, b-sides on an album is bulllshiiiiiit.

EDIT: And for those of you who have yet to see Idoling!!! perform in concert, WATCH THIS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XOjoG3BKAU

It's Kishuhen Ecstacy, a b-side from their latest single. Fucking AWESOME song. Almost as awesome is that it's accompanied by a live band.

Not as awesome are the volume problems with the mics. Oh well. Live concert broadcast. Things happen.

Kishuhen Ecstacy is pretty great. The music is catchy and the lines have a lot of variation throughout the song.

Oh, is that Renai Revolution I see at the start of the chorus dance?

I'll just wait until they're ripe.

But anyway, she's 16, I can find those girls cute, it's not like some 10 years old or ones that look like they're still 10.

I somehow had the impression that she was underage though. haha

It's quite hard to find pictures (or even information) about Idoling it seems. I just googled a bit some of the member names and even yt only has a few videos.

FujiTV stalks Youtube like it's their job, but doesn't know about DailyMotion for some reason. Loooots of stuff to watch, though. I'd suggest only really watching the actual Idoling!!! show instead of appearances on other shows. The "Idoling Diary" videos uploaded by doughnutandcoffee are lots of things (TV shows, DVD clips, behind the scenes stuff, entirely new stuff) condensed into one episode. I'd suggest watching from that. I don't really watch them, because I'd rather watch the full episodes, but it gives you a good taste of what goes on. GunGrave has full episodes, but a lot of them are older.

Post by Special Needs Tricycle »

Waiting for 10 My Me to download, and I haven't given SUNRISE a listen, so why not review it like I said I was going to do?

Caution: I am writing these as I listen, so there's no real structure. Just my thoughts as I listen.

1. Prologue -reminiscent of moonlight-

I do not get the point of these kind of album openers. Petit-Petit's album opening sounded like it was going to be an AMAZING track and then it just broke into about a minute of the girls giggling and going "PUCHI PUCHI~~~~~~~ DAISUKI~~~~~" and it pissed me the hell off. This is no different. This sounds like it could be an amazing song. What a waste.

2. SUNRISE

I like this! It's not anything that I'm going to be playing on repeat for days like Kishuhen Ecstacy or U, but it's a good song. Sounds like Perfume maybe? But without the vocoding. Good mood-setter.

3. Kishuhen Ecstacy

I am appalled and fully against including B-sides in albums but sdfljhdsfkjasdghkfeshyksefu this song is incredible. Erica is so perfect for this song. The Hitomi/Serina/Kaede group is weird and sounded FUCKING HORRIBLE live, but this song, man. This fucking song. This is what I love about Idoling!!!. The weird funky but catchy as hell songs they put out. Like Soushokukei Carnival. Why do all of Idoling!!!'s awesome songs have to be hidden as B-sides. It pisses me off. Everyone, if you're going to download this album and forget to listen to it, please at LEAST take a listen to this song. I KNOW YOU KNOW KISHUHEN EKUSUTASHII

4. Te no Hira no Yuuki (Tokimeki Idoling!!!)

<img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lmfao:' /> So many people find this song a borefest, but I love everything about it. I love the goofy one-handed dance, I love the swaying, I love that little SWOOOOSH sound effect, I love their outfits, I love the lyrics, I love the softness. It's just such a nice song. So cheery and good.

5. U

FUCKING THIS SONG AS WELL. This, along with Kishuhen Ecstacy and Soushokukei Carnival is one of Idoling!!!'s best songs that is tacked on as a B-side despite being miles better than the A-side. I don't have much to say, since this song is pretty old, but it's a beautiful saddish song, which I don't think Idoling!!! has ever really done? It works really well. Pleeease listen to this song, too. It's great.

6. Sunadokei

Their voices sound really weird and processed here. And WOAH THIS CHORUS IS COOL. With a title that means "Hourglass", I was expecting a really boring ballad, but this is a nice surprice! This is such a neo-Idoling!!! song. This reminds me of how much Idoling!!!'s music style has changed for the better. Daiji na Mono was a collection of nice, but bland and typical idol songs, but this has an actual style to it. If I didn't know any better and listened to Daiji na Mono and SUNRISE back to back, I'd think they were two different groups. I like the feeling of listening to this song and going "THIS is an Idoling!!! song" instead of "THIS is something I've heard way too many times." Good song.

7. Snow celebration -everlasting story-

I'm sooo on the fence with this. Most of Idoling!!'s remixes (See: fucking all of Petit-Petit) are basically undistinguishable from the original and complete ripoffs, but this is a complete re-recording, re-arranged, and has slightly different lyrics. I'm not sure I like this style. I would have preferred something more hyper, considering this was the B-side to Love Magic Fever. Not bad though!

8. 3 do Me no Kinenbi

This is... relaxing? Oh. Nice chorus. This kind of reminds me of U? But it's quite different. This is nice. Not much to say. It sounds really nice. What the hell is with this album. Petit-Petit sucked ASS and this album's album songs are all really good so far. What the hell happened? I have a feeling they won't be able to sing a lot of these songs very well live, though. U gets a bit iffy at time, and U has mostly girls who are competent with singing. Whatever.

9. La-La-La La no Love Song

And now we break up my chill mood with some FUCKING METAL that Masuno wrote. Cool. I know every other Idoling!!! fan shat themselves over this, but I'm not liking this that much. It's different, but it's... boring? Idols singing rock shouldn't be boring. They sound bored and there's no real chorus. Masuno sounds funny in the background, though. Royal Milk Girl was way better. And Daiba no Koi no Monogatari was even better than that. What happened? I stopped listening half-way through. :/

10. Love♥Magic Fever ~Love Love Magic Hyper Mix~ (Puyo Puyo Idoling!!!)

Not as hyper as I expected! Less hyper than the original! But I like it! It's like, half re-arranged or something? It sounds like they took out half of the arrangement, added some effects, and turned up the background vocals. I like that. I have a weird fascination with backup vocals, and it's a lot more work than they did with Petit-Petit's remixes. Serina's line still makes me want to punch her. That is all.

11. Houkago Telepathy ~Inokori Hoshu Mix~

This is also a very Idoling!!! song, but I do not like it at ALLLLLLLLL. Probably because it's paired with U, a fucking amazing song. But still. It's like a bad version of Kajuu 30% Orange Juice Tsubutsubu Iri. The remix itself... sounds like it got almost the same treatment as Love Magic Fever? Maybe? No backup vocals. Song sucks. Skipped halfway through.

12. Rainy Girl (Tokimeki Idoling!!!)

Hmmmm. I am on the fence with this. It does have a really "Rainy Day" feeling, and that's nice, I guess? I haven't really listened to this song much, because I ignored it for its A-side (Te no Hira no Yuuki), but now that I listen to it again, it's quite a good song. I like the arrangement a lot. Relaxing.

13. Don't be afraid -Director's cut-

...What is the "Director's cut" part of this? Oh wait, is the line distribution different? Did they fucking re-record parts of this? What is this. Something sounds different, but I can't put my finger on it. Like Shokugyou: Idol's "remix". What is going on here. Most of this sounds exactly the same as the original, but maybe slightly different? Is this because I'm wearing headphones? WAIT WHAT THE FUCK DID THEY DO TO RURIKA'S SOLO WHO THE FUCK DID THIS SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET A KICK TO THE FUCKING BALLS FUCK THIS SHIT THIS PART SUCKS <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />(( WHERE IS RURIKA. This is a good song but WHERE IS RURIKA'S AWESOME SOLO. Oh the ending is really cool. I like that. But still, stop playing, you bitches. Give me Rurika's solo back. For real.

14. S.O.W. Sense of Wonder

Yesssssssss. Great album closer. It sounds like it's signaling a regime change (Climb up the idol ladder?) for Idoling!!! I love this song. It's so happy. It makes me happy. I love Idoling!!!. One thing though, this sounds... somewhat different from the original? Is this a bad rip? Was the original single a bad rip? Is this because my ears hurt and I'm tired? I dunno. Good song. LET'S WONDERING!!!

Overall thoughts:

PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. I put off listening to this for SO LONG and had SUCH LOW EXPECTATIONS after the ABORTION that was Petit-Petit. This is soooo much better. THIS is the Idoling!!! that I love. Not some no-effort single "remixes" and shitty tacked-on filler songs. This is a GOOD ALBUM from beginnig to end. Love Song sucks, Houkago Telepathy sucked in the first place, and someone deserves to have their balls ripped off for taking away my Rurika solo, but other than that, this is VERY GOOD. I am happy. Hopefully they keep up this momentum with 4th gen having joined now. I'm excited to see what Idoling!!!'s going to do next. :>

And now that I wrote this long, weird-ass album review, you have to fucking download it. Do it. Do it. I tell you guys to download every Idoling!!! thing, and none of you ever do, but at least download this? It's good. Trust me. I'm Trike. I wouldn't lie to you. It's not H!P, but at least it's not some weird ass lip-synced church music. Do it. I'll upload the entire album on Megaupload or whatever with my slow-ass connection if you want me to. Just ask. But if you can, the torrent is right here:

http://www.hello-online.org/index.php?act=...p;torrent=26180

Do it. Do it. Do it. And write a review here. Pumo, I'm looking at you. And Em-El possibly.

Saw it.

I have no idea who any of them is, so I don't know their character.

I found that "fight" between Suu and Mira very... weird, but also interesting. Idols fighting eachother on a TV show and it actually seems like they really mean it ?

From the talk it seems like they're all living together in a flat/apartment, is that correct ?

Do they always have to say their full name and number ?

The sniffing part was really awkward. lol

Also, I don't really understand that stuff with giving away stickers. Does that mean they'll send one to the person who wrote that stuff ?

The list in the beginning with the numbers, was it a ranking of who got the most mails sent by fans ?

Wow, some of them are talking faaaaast. haha (especially Rumi)

They have some really good looking girls and ladies in that group. I looked up birthdates, when they joined (and left) etc. of the ones that stood out for me. I have to say the eyeliner (whatever it is) of Fonchi during the show looked crappy, but she's quite hot when I saw some pictures of her via google.

"negadol" the fuck !? lol, that could be taken soooo racist.

That Michelle seems like a bitch. Though I have to say, her "I won't get camera time if I don't cry" was ingenious.

All I can see is; holy shit, I've never seen this much happening in 60 minutes on any other idol show. It feels like a therapy session for them somehow. haha

It was interesting, I need moar ! Hopefully something with games in them gets subbed next !

I have no idea who any of them is, so I don't know their character.
Yeah, I suppose this episode would be kind of confusing if you don't know the girls at all.
I found that "fight" between Suu and Mira very... weird, but also interesting. Idols fighting eachother on a TV show and it actually seems like they really mean it ?

From the talk it seems like they're all living together in a flat/apartment, is that correct ?
Suzuka and Mira getting into arguments with each other was a running gag. It happened on most of the episodes they were on together, if it was a talk episode. They're both roommates. The rest of the Idoling!!! girls live alone or with their families. Those 2 are the only roommates.
Do they always have to say their full name and number ?
Yes. The show's about promoting the girls individually. They're all in they're own talent agencies, so the show really doesn't hold back in giving them all their time. There's no real front girls in Idoling!!!
Also, I don't really understand that stuff with giving away stickers. Does that mean they'll send one to the person who wrote that stuff ?
Yes. The stickers are sent as a present to the fan who got their answer picked.
The list in the beginning with the numbers, was it a ranking of who got the most mails sent by fans ?
Yes. The list is:

1. Yokoyama Rurika (139)

2. Katou Sayaka (118)

3. Takiguchi Mira (102)

4. Koizumi Rumi (97)

5. Nagano Serina (90)

6. Yazawa Erika (88)

7. Endou Mai (83)

8. Phongchi (80)

9. Eto Maria (79)

9. Tonooka Erica (79)

11. Kikuchi Ami (73)

12. Sakai Hitomi (65)

13. Miyake Hitomi (64)

14. Asahi Nao (60)

15. Kawamura Yui (56)

16. Morita Suzuka (55)

17. Michelle Miki (49)

It's not really a direct reflection of popularity or anything, but maybe moreso a mix of popularity and how funny the girls are. Mira wasn't really popular, but she was the comedian of the group, whereas Rurika is the Takahashi/Airi/Atsuko of Idoling!!! but is boring as shit most of the time.
Yeah :B It kinda sucks that this episode is old, though, because 5 of the girls have since graduated (#1 (Sayaka), #2 (Rumi), #4 (Maria), #5 (Mira), #18 (Michelle)) and 8 new girls have joined.
That Michelle seems like a bitch. Though I have to say, her "I won't get camera time if I don't cry" was ingenious.
Michelle was actually my favorite member up until she graduated. She was reeeeeaaaaaally underutilized in the show. :/ I don't really think she knew how to be an idol, though. She joined not too long after moving to Japan from Australia, so her Japanese wasn't that great, she wasn't all that familiar with idol culture, and her original agency was a model agency (Elite Models, actually) that didn't really deal with idols, so she was just thrown into it and looked like a deer in headlights most of the time. Whenever she had her moments, she was hilarious, though.
All I can see is; holy shit, I've never seen this much happening in 60 minutes on any other idol show. It feels like a therapy session for them somehow. haha
Yeah, the Onegai! Onegai! Fan-sama!!! segments tend to bring out a lot more about the girls and how they really interact with eachother moreso than the normal episodes, so lots of the times the girls will actually get serious with eachother like this episode. Shame they don't do this segment much anymore. :/
It was interesting, I need moar ! Hopefully something with games in them gets subbed next !
We have 2 other episodes that we've subbed, if you haven't watched those: http://acchimuitepie.blogspot.com/search/l...egai~Fansubbing They're not as good as this one, and the first one is waaay back from when it was only 1st gen, but they're still good stuff.

Downloading the other two episodes too now.

Thanks for the other info too !

It seems like they have a higher abrasion of girls than MM.

EDIT (and merged posts):

"Phongchi has skipped out 4 times on appearing on Idoling!!!, one of the most known TV shows she has appeared in, because she watched some TV programs of Dragon Gate Pro Wrestling or K-1 MAX until late at night (3 times), and she played a videogame, Demon's Souls, in her room and couldn't stop playing it for about 20 hours straight."

Fonchi, I love you !

This screams for a new avatar.

Unfortunately the other two episodes haven't yet finished downloading.

I will now start to read her blog http://ameblo.jp/fonchi1216/ and live by her words !

Phongchi has wha? She is a yankee after all then. I thought the only gamers in the group are Yoko, Nagano and Kawamura.

Isn't Demon's Soul supposed to be really fucking hard? Jesus Christ, Phongchi. She likes wrestling, too? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> She was one of my least favorite members too. Looks like she's moved up a few ranks then.

Also, 4th gen is in full swing, bitches! The first episode featuring 4th gen is up and the Idoling!!! website has updated for the new members:

The girls' new pictures are all so bad. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> Why do they do this. Whatever though. GET ON THIS SHIT!!! A NEW GENERATION IS THE PERFECT TIME TO GET INTO AN IDOL GROUP!

Just watching the second subbed episode now.

Do they always have such "intros" where two girls are talking ?

It's not always with 2 girls, but yes, they always do short, weird intros at the beginning of each episode.

Third subbed episode was also quite funny.

Does anybody know if I have to be some kind of fanclub member to be able to send them a mail for the "onegai fan sama" part ?

And can you get tickets for the show ? (I guess it's done in the FUJI TV center in Odaiba, Tokyo)

EDIT:

Oh, and the female announcer is completely useless. haha

Yes, you have to be part of the Fan-sama Club to send in submissions for segments.

I've no real idea for HOW you get tickets to the show (I've heard they're done via lottery. What lottery? Not sure.), but you definitely can get them. I know one guy from the JPH!P Idoling!!! forum has actually been to a taping.

The female announcers are usually there to offset the girls and Masuno's shenanigans. AKA being the adult. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whatthe:' /> They do actually participate in segments sometimes, and are actually pretty funny.

You should start watching the non-subbed episodes now! They make good Japanese practice.
