H!P Youtube Thread

Post by peachgirldb »

Lots of us don't follow H!P as closely as we'd like to. We might keep up with single and PV releases but otherwise not have the time to see much, and that's where youtube has really become a godsend for me. Now, it's not a thread for posting just anything H!P, but for posting unusual things, rare things, and things you think might be easy to miss, anything you think people may not have seen! Performances of a song by someone else, or with something neat added in the performance, or rearrangements, staging, etc. Any random shit! Stuff from concerts is totally fine as long as it's not just "And here's Morning Musume doing Love Machine with BLUE outfits this time!" And clips that aren't from H!P but are about H!P are welcome as well (other than audio remixes), whether it's references to H!P in other stuff, parody videos, etc. The only stipulation in that regard is that it has to be good. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> And obviously, it doesn't have to be on youtube, just as long as it's on a streaming site.

Anyway I can't remember what I've posted before so I'll just dump these:

Yaguchi Mari and Yasuda Kei - Kingyou Hanabi - Mari on vocals, Kei on piano. I always love to see H!P girls do stuff that's not H!P and I love seeing them play instruments. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Elder Club JKM (with subs) - Yeah, yeah, everyone's probably seen it anyway, but I don't watch concerts much, okay?! I bet I'm not the only one. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

Sheki-dol - Tetteiteki Unmei PV - yeah, it's just a PV, but I bet a lot of people haven't seen it xD

I third the poor Taiyou X_x

Atleast he has a fish tank?

The apartment looks too small though once Noa starts getting older, they'll probably need to get one with another room for Noa. (It might've had 2 bedrooms but looking as they were walking through I didn't see any other doors.)

Seriously though, why does the toilet light only when the seat is lifted? Is it to make sure guys are aiming right in the dark or something?

I like how "he" has on glasses over his pedo identity protection mask.

Cool but, it's quite hard to tell how much of his bass we hear since the song's bass is still loud and clear.

He should have turned the song down a bit.

His Manatsu no Kousen seems a bit more apparent though. Since it's a bit more mellow, the song isn't taking over.

Now H!P girls playing instruments: JunJun tells Mano to suck it

<img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... umbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sideways:' /> Her "Jun Jun Lin Lin" shirt kicks ass!

This is really creepy and I can't honestly appreciate anything about it because I don't like that song at all. That mask is really scary.

Talking about identity protection mask, I really have no idea why so many people in Japan do that when covering pop dance:

Balalaika - Kusumi Koharu by xxxayu3 (surgical mask version <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> , make sure you watch until 3:49 <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/meh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';/' /> )

CRAZY ABOUT YOU by xxxayu3

Ookina ai de motenashite - C-ute by xxxayu3(surgical mask with eyepatch! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... popper.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sideways:' /> )

Search on youtube using the keyword 踊ってみた you will see hundreds of other Japanese do that. Why? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Google says 踊ってみた means "I danced," so that's probably not it. Maybe they do it because they breath through their mouth?

Odotte mita means "I tried dancing" - Da Vynci just means that if you search for that on youtube, you'll find lots of videos of Japanese people trying their hand at the (insert song here) dance and in these videos most people are wearing masks.

I haven't watched any of the dancing videos, but Usako's video of Taiyou/Tsuji's apartment was hilarious. I guess we can't be too hard on Kago for not being as grown up as she says she is, at least her apartment isn't drenched in pink and Mickey Mouse <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' />

I noticed that too....but looking at the result from search using the word 踊ってみた in youtube, it makes me wonder if "I dance" is the synonym for "I dance with a mask" in Japanese subculture.

Like PQ kinda said, this program is called MikuMikuDance. The Vocaloid is ONLY for creating audio, MikuMikuDance was created by fans.

As for the masks... they're just better about not putting their face out on the internet than we are. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sideways:' />

I may be wrong, but I think there's a subtle indication of expected failure with that phrase, almost like "I tried dancing, but..."*

It may be a meme amongst these fans.

The subtext is basically "I tried dancing... but of course I'm a dorky salaryman and can't dance at all so I have to wear a mask or otherwise conceal my identity so I don't incur the scorn of my peers, lolz."

*Literally more like "I danced to see [what would happen]"

AWWW... I think I just died from the cuteness. The little girl is pretty good at dancing. I've never heard the song before though.

I think the mask thing is just the Japanese don't like putting their identity out on the internet. Hence why it's impossible to find people you know in real life on mixi as none of them use their real names or pictures. And when you do get pictures from your friends they are usually in password protected albums. Even on a shower I saw late at night of people who were famous on nikoniko video for their covers of anime songs and dances mostly came onto the show with their faces covered.

I think it's just a difference in perception, while there isn't much chance that your average looks like every other salaryman or high school girl will be picked out from an online video (or in the case of very obvious hair and body style not be picked out) it's just not common for faces to be shown. Which is why there is even faceless porn. Cuz hey, that's not the important body part anyway.

Yeah, with the anonymity given by a mask, people could really do somethhing they normally wouldn't, like this girl, she literally took off her clothes (and pants) when she is dancing to a Club Prince song.

That's pretty awesome, I wish more clips like this surfaced sometimes. You can see a lot of poppy dance style motions in her gymnastics routine, some stuff kinda akin to what she did later when she was in H!P. Maybe this helped Tsunku choose her?

e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGB52hwhR24&fmt=18
