Suzuki Ami - Reincarnation

Post by neshcom »

You can see it here.

To be released February 25. The song is produced by Taku Takahashi (from m-flo). Two versions will be available: CD and CD+DVD.

I'm conflicted about this song. It definitely has that abstract electronic m-flo sound, but Ami's vocals are poorly mixed. The song lacks a necessary amount of structure, but it gets a lot better in the second half. Music aside, the most interesting thing about this is the PV. It's very artsy. Very technically complex and very well shots. Many times I find it hard to believe that some shots are in reverse. The visual effects and use of color really match the music. The singing cuts are surprisingly out of place. Her outfits are OK, but I really don't like the silver no-sleeve/gloves outfit. I'm not a big fan of gloves, especially with sleeveless smocks. Her new bangs are okay. They remind me of Eri a bit.

It's a bit too experimental for my taste. Her vocals sound really strange. Are you sure it's not just some the visuals that are in reverse - maybe they recorded her singing backwards and played it forwards <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

WHY IS SHE STILL AROUND? DOES SHE EVEN HAVE FANS? FALLEN IDOL!!

But seriously, is she even doing well? After her big "come back" some time ago, she just fell off the radar again.

I seriously hope Nakata left her behind and not the other way around, because this is a serious downgrade in quality for her recent music. The composition makes no sense, the mixing is terrible and the whole sound just doesn't work at all. Plus, her vocals are unbelievably bad, like I can't believe they would release something with vocals so bad, surely in the studio they could've done something about that.

At least it's better than MEG's new single.
