Enneagram Test

Post by Sugoi Sama »

After reading this here it got me thinking just what type of personality I have. Sooo I took this here Eneagram Test wich seems to have hit the nail on the head for me. Here is a brief description of the test from the website.

The Enneagram is a personality typing system that consists of nine different types. Everyone is considered to be one single type, although one can have traits belonging to other ones. While it's uncertain whether this type is genetically determined, many believe it is already in place at birth.

The nine types (or "enneatypes", "ennea" means "nine") are universally identified by the numbers 1 to 9. These numbers have a standard way of being placed around the Enneagram symbol.

They are:

1- The Reformer

2- The Helper

3- The Achiever

4- The Individualist

5- The Investigator

6- The Loyalist

7- The Enthusiast

8- The Challenger

9- The Peace Maker

The test is about 14 pages long which quite possibly might get me flamed (Be Gentle) for suggesting. But since I mostly lurk around here, I figured it would be an interesting way to break out of my norm and show people a little about myself while hoping to learn a little about them. That Said! My results!!

I am a Type 1w2.

Reformer with a dash of Helper. 2 and 5 were tied in score but that is explained on the site.

It certainly explains why I lurk so damn much. I tend to start writing replies and unnecessarily re-read everything repeatedly, always resulting in my not being happy with the way I'm getting myself across and ultimately ending up in me deleting it and seeming as I don't have an opinion at all. Over the internet I tend to be quiet and shy but in actuality I'm an quite opinionated and talkative once I get to know people. And I'm hoping for this to be the start of some change and I'll reflect that by being more active here and elsewhere .

How about you? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/meh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':danceman:' />

I'm a type 6. 6w5

The Loyalist

Conflicted between trust and distrust

and

The Investigator

Thinkers who tend to withdraw and observe

I guess that explains why I don't have many friends. xD I have trust issues. >_>

But I totally agree with the Type 5. That's me alright. D:

Fives tend to be shy, nonintrusive, independent and reluctant to ask for the help that others might well be happy to extend to them. (That's totally me! xD)

The second test is only one page long, so I did that one. It says I am a Peacemaker (self preservation variant), which sounds about right.

Here's my top three:

Type 1 SP

Type 6 SO

Type 9 SP

I'm a type 1 - Reformer with self preservation variable. It said I had balanced wings.

What's the other personality one that looks like hexcode? It said I had the same personality as Mother Theresa a few months back.

This test is useful in identifying what makes you feel good, and what makes you feel at home with yourself.

I'm a 4w5, sexual variant. In this case, I'm driven by a desire to stand out and by a thirst for melancholy. It fits. I like to express myself through artsy, creative, aesthetic stuff. I've also been typed as a 7w6 and a 7w8. Which also fits. My vices tend to be modeling, over-the-top courtships and some drugs.

8w7 is where it's at, man. Lust, vengeance and magnanimity.

OH MY GOD, I am soo a Type 5=
Thinkers who tend to withdraw and observe, are generally intelligent, well read and thoughtful and they frequently become experts in the areas that capture their interest. ...they feel little need to alter their beliefs to accommodate majority opinion, and they refuse to compromise their freedom to think just as they please. The problem for Fives is that while they are comfortable in the realm of thought, they are frequently a good deal less comfortable when it comes to dealing with their emotions, the demands of a relationship, or the need to find a place for themselves in the world. Fives tend to be shy, nonintrusive, independent and reluctant to ask for the help that others might well be happy to extend to them. Fives sometimes adopt an attitude of careless indifference or intellectual arrogance, which has the unfortunate consequence of creating distance between themselves and others. Minimalistic lifestyle in which they make few demands on others in exchange for few demands being made on them. Other Fives make their peace with the messiness of life and engage it more fully, but they almost always retain their fears that life is somehow going to demand more of them than they can deliver.

Combine that with wing 6, and I suppose I'm a phobic-driven, anxiety-ridden, intellectually arrogant but horribly misunderstood loner?

But when I took the shorter test, I got a type 1 (the Reformer) with 9 wing Self-preservation variant. Huh?

Out of curiosity, have you taken the MBTI? It's another system that predicts your personality based on cognition.

With stuff like MBTI and Enneagram, I take from it what is useful and relevant to me. They're simply a way of dividing up reality such that one can make generalisations in hopefully a useful way. It's not "real." Just a snapshot of you at a given moment.

9w8. I don't know what that means?

Peacemaker... wing Challenger? How does that even make sense? As far as the first number, my second highest was 2, The Helper?

I got the same result from the shorter test. The problem is, I don't think I'm... that easily defined? Plus, as of late, I haven't been sleeping much, thus changing my results on things like "energy" and "complacency" - because I'm obviously much more lethargic and complacent when I'm dead-ass tired. What is ~*the real me*~? I have no idea, haha.

edit: ooh, I'm a sexual variant, haha.

edit2: Like every other personality test I've taken ever (including my Zodiac sign), I feel it's only somewhat accurate - being as according to the results, I should be very reliable.. I am not a reliable person AT ALL. I'll say I'll do stuff, with the best intentions - but I'm incredibly forgetful, so... I try to help, but always forget to? What's the type for that?

I'm a 4w3. Not everything in either type seemed to be right on the nose "oh that's me" but there were several things that I do in both. But the nutshell is I'm an insecure person that constantly looks for things to justify my existence. Whoopeedoo.

The results are kinda harsh from what I can tell.

The test told me I was a balanced 4. An insecure person that feels that is different and that nobody understands him? wow...

Kinda but not quite. haha.

Interesting test, though.

I took a test like this before, but it has different questions. I expected to get a different result but I got 9w1 again! Kinda freaky. >.>;

I'm the peacemaker.

On test one I got:

You are most likely a type 9. Taking wings into account, you seem to be a 5w4.

Type 9 - 10: Keeping peace and harmony

Type 5 - 9.3: Thinkers who tend to withdraw and observe

Type 4 - 6.7

Wing 5w4 - 12.7

Wing 9w1 - 12

Wing 4w5 - 11.4

Hmm... I think I am a bit more like a nine though. From these results I've found that I'm quite boring.

My sister's kinda obsessed with this Myers Briggs test. (I couldn't find I link I can give out, but the quizzes seem to be pretty common.) I've found out I'm an INFP. I like the way they lay the personality out better in that format. ^^

Okay, after poking at this for a few days, I totally take back my first self-assessment. I identify as a 4w3; "The Aristocrat;" the romantic archetype . The interesting bit is that I harbour obvious feelings of not belonging in the world as a whole -- something 4's, 5's (scientist archetype) and 8's (sadist archetype, heh) have in common. The really funny bit is that whatever I'm projecting tends to be a protector-magnet, and those protectors come in the form of 5's and 8's (and, to a milder extent, other 4's). I'm not complaining; I'm driven to seek them, too, so it works.

I can't believe I missed this bit: "They can have problems with vanity and self-indulgence, and can resemble sevens in their love of luxury and pleasure. But unlike sevens, sensations are not sought in themselves but as another accessory to their fantasy identity." (Source)
