Perfume's been on a nice activity trail recently. In late-April, they released "BUDOUKaaaaaaaaaN!!!!" a recorded performance of the group's two-day stay at Nippon Budokan, on of Japan's most famous concert halls.
"One Room Disco," the group's latest single was released in March and reached number 1 on the Oricon, the group's ssecond single to do so. They've also hosted/co-hosted Music Japan and a new show, "Perfume's Chandelier House," sice April.
Perfume will be releasing a new album on July 8th as well as start a new tour both are unnamed as-of-yet. Perfume is starring in a new commercial for Pino with a new song, presumably, from the new album called "NIGHT FLIGHT." Another variation of the commercial has also been released along with a press behinds the scenes.
I've enjoyed Perfume's latest going-ons and I have high hopes for the new album. Then again, I was really looking forward to more from GAME and ended up disappointed.

I can't wait for the new album. I was hoping for one this year, so I'm quite content at this. Hopefully it's half as good as GAME. It sounds like it will be, if NIGHT FLIGHT is any indicator.
One Room Disco isn't outstanding, but really solid. The PV makes it a really fun song, too.

Yay, new album. I liked One Room Disco (but I listen to 23:30 more). I loved GAME, more so than their previous stuff, so I'm really looking forward to the new stuff they have on the horizon.

Perfume held a concert on the 10th called Perfume LIVE! Disco! Disco! Disco! It was produced with and broadcast on WOWOW. I was excited to see it because this fan video on YouTube made me think they performed NIGHT FLIGHT, but I guess it was edited out of the broadcast. I was still surprised at some of the really cool stuff at this show.
Here were some noticeable changes from the standard Perfume performances:
(this isn't the entire set list, just the really interesting different stuff)
-It started with a video montage of different Perfume performances where they had announced the venue and date through Zepp Tokyo for GAME and Budoukaaaan. I'm pretty sure it was just for the broadcast.
-The performance was done on an E-shaped stage with a ball of disco balls above the center prong. The center stage had three or six moving LED screens.
-The show started with blue lights shining on the disco ball with shocking effects playing. The ball raised and the monitors showed square lights making silhouettes of the girls. It then showed "What is DISCO?" the theme for the show I suppose.
-edge. Video from Budoukaaaan, but the shots of the girls were re-filmed to match the other video stuff (see below). 'edge' started off with a warning siren and really cool red lights. The girls stood on a moving platform that had lasers and they pointed at the crowd before walking to the center prong circle. During a break in the song after an interlude, the girls pick up big flashlights and shine them in random directions until they meet at the disco ball ball what "What is DISCO?" is said. The lights turn off for a moment before turning them back on and shine them on the monitor to reveal "What is DISCO?" They do another verse and finish with the outro.
-"What is DISCO?" The girls, dressed in their re-shot edge outfits take one monitor and each monitor is seperated from the other two. Nocchi and Kashiyuka on the sides "walk" the monitor to the middle to meet A-chan walking forward. The video shows edge outfit Perfume commanding a new white outfit Perfume to find out what DISCO is (I think...). The white outfit girls do a dance with magnifying glasses. There are cuts of edge outfit Perfume watching the other group running around trying to figure out DISCO. Eventually, white-Perfume starts goofing off and edge-Perfume start chasing after them. Then, the girls sit in an "ESP machine(?)" and start listing off things that may be disco like discoballs, lasers, and lights. As each is listed, the monitor goes black and the set shows off each prop. White-Perfume report to edge-Perfume and destroy them with FILTER POWER! White-Perfume step up to a set of DJing equipment with records that say YOYOGI DISCO MIX. Fade to black.

Basically a heavily edited medley of Baby cruising Love, GAME, twinkle2, Computer Driving, Linear Motor Girl, Ceramic Girl, a song I've never heard before that I don't think is a Perfume song, and Sweet Donuts with videos of white-Perfume on the monitors and plenty of stage lighting and lasers. Also, two costume changes.
-They announced the new album (but not the title I think) and an arena hall tour on June 11th-17th (I believe...) to go with the album.
I would really suggest this to any Perfume fan, though moreso to someone who didn't see Budoukaaaan.

Perfume's new album is called ⊿ (Triangle)(Wikipedia) Along with Dream Fighter, One Room Disco, and love the world, edge will have a "⊿-mix" and Negai will have an album mix. There will be CD and CD+DVD editions.

The DVD seems really weak, even more so than GAME's DVD. It looks like the DVD performances of edge and NIGHT FLIGHT are from the DISCODISCODISCO even from above and shows that NIGHT FLIGHT was cut from the broadcast. I really want the What is DISCO? track to be on some future Yasutaka Nakata album.

I think the song you've never heard was Sweet Donuts but with the pitches altered, but this concert was awesome. Since I thought it was that GAME Tour sucked, I thought that Budoka(...)n was the only concert that is gonna be good, but Disco! x3 was pretty good too! I was upset too that NIGHT FLIGHT wasn't in the concert, but it was still enjoyable.

This is the best thing they've done in a while, although I need to add my usual gripe about the over-use of the vocoder/auto-tune effect. I've gone beyond being tired of it, to the point of being annoyed by it.
