Aika M.I.A for a Few Weeks (Again)

Post by Shoujo Q »

I found this info from Hell Project. If anyone has the original article, that would be helpful.

Mitsui Aika will be out of action for a few weeks while she recovers from surgery to repair detached cartilage on the second toe of her left foot.

Apparently bunions are worse then I thought? Aika's injury sounds worse though and she only gets a few weeks while Kanna is still out. xD

Mmm Morning Musume without Aika....It's like a dream. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' />.

In all seriousness, I hope she gets better and that she has less pain after surgery.

Hmmm, I wonder if she'll make it with the others to Anime Expo.

This was the best I could track down for the source: http://www.helloproject.com/news/200905151...sumemituit.html

It was dated May 15, and she missed a fan club event a few days ago.

I can only selfishly hope she'll be able to perform at Anime-Expo, so at least it happened two weeks ago and not today.

Aw. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> Poor Aika. Has anybody else noticed that she always gets flat shoes? Everybody else has heels in the Shouganai Yume Oibito dance shot.

It's still just speculation but there is a lot of doubt going around Japanese forums as to this really being the reason for her rest from activities. The injury and surgery she had sound worse when put into medical terms, but actually it's the same thing as having an ingrown nail removed. Painful yes, something to keep you resting for more than 1-2 weeks, no.

A few of my friends said that at the last Musume concerts in Osaka and Tokyo there were several angry Johnny's fans outside the venues. Which has since sparked rumors on the internet about there being some sort of scandal involved.

They haven't said anything about her missing the cd release event this weekend, though since they said she was taking a rest for an indefinite amount of time who knows.

I'll post on whether she's there or not. If they announce her not going to Anime Expo for this, that will really seem fishy.

I think such forums are jumping to conclusions just a little bit. Who said she's missing more than 1-2 weeks? It's ridiculous for them to be suspicious until she actually has been out for longer. They released the news to tell people why she was missing the event on May 23-24, nothing more.

So, when are they gonna repair her detached vocal cords? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... imshot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rimshot:' />

No, I was just saying what I've been told by most people here. And that's exactly how the process of what she had was described to me. It's not a surgery that should take someone out of performances for more than a couple of weeks, all parties that told me about their experience with the Johnny's girls were clear on this. I'm going on what I was told as well so you don't have to get bitchy and think I'm trying to be a know it all every time I say something.

I was just putting forward some of the speculation going around on the internet, I'm not saying it's true. Just that there were a few suspicious events surrounding her sudden departure. I don't say it as a definite but thought some might find it interesting since normally this board seems to be full of scandal-mongers. Since it seems she will be at tomorrow's release event (although the original message saying she would be missing the one event wasn't specific on if she would be doing activities after that, so no definite return dates were given at that time) I think I'll be made apparent whether there is anything behind the rumors there or not.

I'm hoping they don't have the girls wearing the masks tomorrow, since it's written that all staff will be wearing them as well as requiring everyone to use disinfectant spray as we enter. That I'm ok with, and I understand flu prevention but I want to see my beautiful JunJun's face. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... pyeyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rimshot:' />

Scandals or not, the BBS has never welcomed rumors with no sourcing or very poor sourcing (Chinese 2-cent tabloids). So you might see how "a friend of a friend told me they might have seen.." is ridiculous.

This.

Plus:

The injury and surgery she had sound worse when put into medical terms, but actually it's the same thing as having an ingrown nail removed.

...is very different from "I heard from some friends that...". When you say "actually it's this," you're stating it as if it's a medical fact.

Hmm that sounds strange to me. Every other time someone has been said to be out for medical reasons (Aika's past stomach problems, Kanna's problems) there has been instant speculation on whether there was actually a scandalous reason being covered up. It just seems to not fly when I do it because of people's impressions of me.

But whatever, I'll post on her condition after the event tomorrow.

Stating that "you heard from a friend that the surgery was not that bad" is much different from, like TnB said, stating it as fact. We don't know the details of her foot and the surgery for FULLY detached cartilage is very invasive since they actually have to surgically reattach it. After that, the cartilage has to have time to repair itself and reattach to wherever it had broken off from, when an ingrown toenail takes 2 minutes to remove and very little anesthesia. It's not as invasive and any regular doctor can perform it with a scalpel.
