The S/mileage Debut

Post by Tallgeese »

Here's a short video of the dance practice.

You can hear the song. It sounds OK but I need a longer clip to judge whether its good or not. Later on, you see some of the cd cover shot, and it looks like they're in "normal" clothes, so it isn't a "cosplay" unit like the SC tie up units. Actually, it kind of has that ZYX/AA vibe. Anyway, I'm mildly excited about this unit. Yuuka is awesome (and cute). Kanon and Sakitty can sing. The only weak link is DAWA, but I guess no group can be perfect.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more creepy pedo jokes about getting "mileage" on the girls... :downsrimshot:

At the end for the photoshoot, Saki looks a bit like Junjun meets Mitsui... My first thought was Haruna from SweetS, but I think it's more Junjun?!

The song preview has me excited, I love the vocals and the style. It's cute fun pop! Can't wait for the full single to hear more, and I really hope this doesn't become one of H!P's one-shot groups. I love the Yuuka-Kanon-Saki combo (and even Wada isn't bugging me too much yet).

The song is cute and the dance seems nice. I like the guitar; it doesn't seem forced. Potential for greatness if they promote it right. I don't like the little march in place and the really obvious jump to rotate the members. I hope they get more songs.

Saki looks a lot like she has an old granny face when she has her hair pulled up. I wish they would let her keep it down until she grows into her face. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /ph34r.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> She has a very square face.

The song sounds promising, I hope they group does well, they'd worked really hard to get to this far.

Sounds good so far. Hopefully, they'll have a few good indies singles (like C-ute) before a full major debut.

Ooh this song is pretty catchy. I'll definitely be picking up a copy of it at the official shop.

I really like the outfits. They remind of the outfits you'd find on a marionette doll.

The whole first verse is played from 0:34 to 2:05. I would have liked to have heard the whole song, but I guess they're saving it for the concert. It sounds pretty unique as far as HP goes. I can't point out an HP song (and I've heard way too many) and say "This sounds like..." That's a good thing. I think their success will depend on having their own sound and image, kind of like how Buono has its own.

BTW, for wota keeping score (to get your chants ready), the intro part goes from Yukarin, to Sakitty, to DAWA, and then Kago... I mean Kanyon. (I mean look at that picture! It's like Tsunku begged some higher power, "I need Kago Ai back... before she slutted out!" and then he got Fukuda Kanon)

I'm a little uncomfortable with the length of those skirts, they fly up really high when they spin. I'm still liking the song, though.

The full single has been released on Hello!Online, in the torrents section and in the forums for direct DL. I absolutely love it as far as debut singles for new groups go. There's not much more if you've already heard the preview, though there is this guitar solo at around 3:00, which I didn't expect.

The single seems to be released under TNX! Does this mean more eggs to NGP? Kanon is gonna be in Minimoni, so I really don't think so...

But the single is decent. I think it gets a bit boring after a while. Ogawa Saki (2nd singer!) has the strongest voice of the 4. She sounds really nice recorded, too. I don't know why he hasn't put her in a group yet, though. The girl is pretty good for her age, and she seems to just be getting better, imo.

I don't particularly like Yuuka in this single. She sounds weak. DAWA is stronger, but she has such a kiddish tone that still doesn't work well with the groups she's in...

The cover of this is pretty cool, btw!

Love the full version of the song. I really like the verses.

Ayaka sounds better in this than she did in Shugo Chara Egg, but she still stands out as a weak link. But it's not that bad.

Kanon stands out the most for me, I love the tones of her voice.

I also really liked the composition of the song, it's not quite standard H!P. Nice change up.

Hope this does well for them, I would like to hear more!

^ It's got that weird echo-y sound, I think they were singing over the recording. Didn't turn out so well.

Still love the song though.
