For the cover album other units have also already been decided, including new Tanpopo and new PucchiMoni. At the summer Hello Project concert they will sing original songs.

The only thing I might have a problem with is the member choice in Tanpopo. Having Risa stay within the group would be fine with me, but I'm really hoping that Tsunku adds some awesome vocal talent into that group.

Well... since none of the members from the 1st two gens (and the only member that really mattered from 3rd gen) are even in H!P anymore, I'd say be prepared for some messin'.

I think one 13 year old is canceled out by the four other members age bracket. Tanpopo started out as a mature group with a more mature sound. I'm just saying I don't want to see the formula messed with like the did with the last Tanpopo group. The song was okay but it didn't sound like Tanpopo to me. After such long "hiatuses", I doubt any of these groups are going to be anything like we once remembered them to be. Pretty much all the members who made up their last incarnations have already ...er, "graduated", and I have this feeling Tsunku's just going to add members we don't really know from Eggs and the like. Well, let's hope they'll do more than just one shot songs and go back into retirement again.

Eggs can have Mini Moni, I don't think they'll introduce that many new faces in the other subgroups.

I always thought that "Be Happy" represented a natural progression of the Tanpopo sound, and it continues to be one of my favorite H!P songs. I was always bummed that the 3rd gen never got a second single.



I, too, hope that Tsunku focuses more on vocal ability with this particular group than he usually does in general. I go ahead and include my usual hope that Koharu is not included in either group.

I feel like Koharu will be in Pucchi Moni now! And they'll stick Kamei as Tanpopo leader. But they'll probably add Junjun to Pucchi Moni too so Linlin and Junjun both have a group

Noto Arisa may be in Pucchi Moni if they're going for eggs still. Kikka too?

I say Mano, Sekine Azusa, and Komine Momoka for Tanpopo...

Seriously, Takahashi has to be in Tanpopo. Right? It's really the only no-brainer decision once you decide to resurrect the group. Unless they're just going to completely disassociate the new group from the original.

I meant more in terms of vocal ability -- 3rd gen not withstanding, of course -- but Risa would be nice fit for more than just the sake of continuity.

This is why the whole thing seems stupid to me. Why drudge up old groups? Is it only because he wants them to renew those old songs at concerts? I suppose reviving small groups like Tanpopo and Mini Moni can give certain members more visibility. I can see why they would keep MiniMoni because it was such a cash cow and very specific to little kids. But, if they wanted to trim the H!P fat and cut out the graduates, then get rid of all the old subgroups too and start fresh. It just smells like desperation because they have to keep relying on the old stuff.



I'm really hoping the new Tanpopo will be mixed up. All of the girls in morning musume are clones of each other. It would be refreshing to throw in someone different.

On the one hand I feel trying to revive some of past glory is a huge waste of time and will greatly be a disappointment.



On the other hand I'm always curious to see a new take on H!Ps older material and to see some new faces and new groups (even if they share a name with older ones).



Only time will tell I suppose.

I'm excited for this, after Hello! Project graduated most of it's members and groups, it's nice to have more, or well revive them from the dead. Though I really hope Tsunku doesn't use any of the younger, newer eggs for Tanpopo that would kill it. Pucchimoni I never cared for though, but I hope Tsunku will make good choices for it though.

I'm excited nonetheless, but I have some deep issues with how these groups are going pan out. In the older generations, both groups had a very distinctive sounds. But since their demise, Tanpopo and Pucchimoni's "sound" has been heard in everything from v-u-den to c-ute. What's going to keep me interested if the only difference is the member amount? Granted, from all the speculation, this might just be a new version of the shuffle unit (next year revive Country Musume, Coconuts Musume, and Sheki-Dol!). I'm sure they'll get awesome songs. I'm just worried with more sub-groups, it'll be a ton of similar sounding songs all coming out at once rather trickling through the three main groups.

If they do it right, I think this is actually a fairly smart marketing move. People remember the names Mini Moni, Tanpopo, and Pucchimoni, but they don't know what the hell S/milage is. H!P has dug itself into such a deep hole, they don't have much chance of new groups/members getting attention from anyone but wotas unless they manage to get an anime deal. If they actually give each of these groups a distinct sound the way they originally did and put in members whose voices work well with that sound, they give their members a chance to get noticed. All of those groups were also a really good way for individual MM members to get a chance to shine and bring out their personalities. Of course if none of these new incarnations can book television appearances then that whole point is moot.

This could be good or it could backfire the way the last gen for both these groups did. I personally liked WOW WOW WOW and Be Happy, but they represented such a big step away from the previous sounds of the groups that it never felt like Petit Moni or Tanpopo. Might as well have been a shuffle group!

IF THEY DO IT RIGHT is the key phrase.



Tanpopo and Pucchimoni came out of some of mm's early, stronger years but by the end, they just felt like another two random shuffle groups. You're right -- if they actually give these groups meaning (sound, character, consistency) then it can be great. But somehow I am pessimistic. I'd rather build up Smileage. Give them consistency, good quality development, and media presence. After some time, you can throw in a few mixed groups for some new appeal. They seem to be really promoting Mano Erina and despite everything, I am paying attention to her and know her. After years of Berryz and sort of getting to know Cute, I was so excited for Buono and love them to pieces. But hearing about a Tanpopo led by Risa is already boring me.

Insert the entire history of Morning Musume here? If you call Morning Musume Chicken Parmesean (Nacchi the chicken, Kaori the tomato sauce, and Yaguchi the cheese) and you look at the current group... Whereas with the new members and a new music style, there didn't seem to be anything connecting the new line ups of Petit Moni or Tanpopo besides the the name. Kinda like when Mini Moni went bling, I loved their material, but t didn't seem right for them to be Mini Moni.

I don't trust that info.



-Tsunku didn't mention reviving Zyx, Aa! and Viyuden (Though he did mention other groupings were to be announced)

-Reviving Viyuden just doesn't make sense.

-No S\mileage song? The girls are on the cover!

-No Mano Erina solo song. The way she's being pimped, it would be weird not having her sing the KAN song solo.

-Weird namings of the groups. Zyx-alpha? What's with the '#' for Tanpopo? etc



Then again random crap has happened before.
