[PV] Kago Ai - no hestitAtIon

H!O has a stream of Kago's new PV, no hesitAtIon. The PV's really cute, but there a strange mix of cute/fresh/light shots and pensive/chic/dark shots. There's a nice feeling of spontaneity throughout the video. Your thoughts?

I like the PV, it shows a much more natural looking Kago than H!P ever did. She feels more real here.



The bad is that, while I still like her voice, it doesn't sound as nice on those high notes as in H!P - either she's a little out of practice or the smoking is causing damage. She's still good - but I have heard her better, too.



Not a bad comeback but I would have liked something more catchy - I find myself forgetting the tune after hearing it. It will take a few more listens to stick with me.

I think this would have been a fine song for Yuko Nakazawa. Aibon just seems to be missing something to pull this off.

Like someone said in the other thread about this song, it kind of sounds like she's going for aiko's sound but doesn't quite pull it off. The song has grown on me a lot though. It's not super catchy but it's pleasant to listen to. The PV is really nice, it fits the song and she's looking a lot better. I'm curious to see how well this well sell.

I need to get used to Kago singing maybe. But the song is growing on me - I somehow keep thinking it is a theme song for a drama. Doesn't it have that vibe?



The PV strikes me as odd because they are trying REALLY hard to show us "grown up" Aibon. The emphasis on her cleavage; showing her changing into short-shorts, etc is still clashing with all those years of overly-childish Aibon. But I like the forest shots at least.



I'm impressed she wrote her own song lyrics too.

The production on this song is horrific. Whoever mixed this song needs to find a new career. The video is about 1/4 good and 3/4 awkward or ugly. And like everyone else says, this doesn't fit her voice at all. But then again, what kind of solo song would? I don't think any, personally, she was always strong as part of a group, but her voice never stood on its own very well.

A happy super upbeat H!P song. I love Kago's voice but a song like this just doesn't fit her. I mean I actually like the song (though I have a high dislike for the PV) but I don't like her singing it. XP

The song itself is okay. Easy listening music. I'm also impressed Ai wrote the lyrics herself. The PV is... yeah. Nice shots of her in the forest, the cleavage and panties shots... trying too hard. She just looks weird having a baby face and uber-cleavage. As for her voice? Why don't they give her a song where she could use a more mature, subdued sounding voice. I know she's capable of it. She used it in that song Shiroi Iro wa Koibito no Iro (I hope I got that title right). She sounded beautiful in that song, actually.

I have to agree with AEUG on the musical aspect of the song. The arrangement is really jumbled and hard to follow with so much that sticks out rather than blend. The video is so-so at best and very cliche at moments. Although Kago doesn't have the solo ability now, I think she still has potential to strengthen up her voice, given she gives/has given up smoking, by training. At least she's doing something musically and in any respect, that's good publicity.

I've always liked Kago. Love her voice and who she is, but.. The only thing I seem to remember from watching the video a few times is boobs, pantys and combat boots. Maybe that's the hook. I dunno.

Bside is also by her, and half the song is in English. Her vocals fit the song better than the aside. Plus the talking part was a lot better pronounced than the lyrics in the song

Agreed. I don't mind the spoken part too much, but it does feel kind of like an interruption to an otherwise really nice song.

I hardly ever post something of value here, but I actually went to her fan event in Tower Records in Shinjuku little more than a week ago. So while reading everyone's AX-experiences, I thought I might as well write down something about mine.



I wasn't expecting to get any sort of ticket when I bought the single, but I did and was super surprised. With my tiny kanji reading skills I also made out something that seemed to say "hand shaking" on the ticket. Super pumped. I also forced my friend to buy the single in order to get a ticket, so she came along with me even thought she's not a fan. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' /> Kago came out on stage and sang no hesitAtIon. I got a pretty good spot almost up front in the audience, and could see her clearly. I noticed how pretty she's gotten, and that her singing was pretty awesome live.

After that she talked to the audience a bit. She asked some questions to the audience, such as "did anything fun happen to anyone recently?". Some wota replied "I got a raise", and she congratulated him. After that she played rock-paper-scissors with the audience, and some people recieved signed posters when they won against her. I got rock while she got scissors, and she pointed at me and went "Where are you from? :0" (in English) and I replied "Sweden <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':weeeh:' />". She seemed sligtly surprised and asked me "Do you know me?" (again, in English) and I answered "Yes" although I don't think she could hear it. I didn't get any poster though. :/ Not sure why. After the talking bit she sang Children of the Night, and oh dear god was the talking bit awkward to listen to. Cute though.

After that it was time for hand shaking, and I told her that I'm rooting for her and thanked her.

Okay... Children of the Night is alot better than No Hejitayshun. =P I just like the melody alot better AND her singing is much nicer. She sounds really nice in this song and doesn't really use that baby voice. The English isn't as horrible as I thought it would be, based on what people were saying.
