This was exactly my reaction. Was Yossi just super bored and called up UFA asking if she could tag along too? It would be one thing if she was just appearing as "Yoshizawa Hitomi, former MM leader" or something, but advertising her as Hangry with no Angry is lame. I guess they figure that's the way most American fans have come to know her after the Sakuracon appearance.



I clearly have not paid very good attention to MM's whole schedule - are they doing their own signing, or is this just a Yossi thing?

because Yossi has her own career in H&A. It doesn't make any sense to introduce her for past work that she no longer does while ignoring her current work. It is professionally insulting to do so.

How would you call it "her own career" - when does she do any H&A stuff on her own? So far H&A has seemed more like a side project directly created to promote a brand rather than either Yossi or Rika's main group. When Yossi and Rika make appearances on variety shows dressed in their regular clothes, do they actually get a name subtitle that says "Yoshizawa Hitomi (HANGRY&ANGRY)"? Besides, news articles refer to MM graduates as "So and So (former MM)" all the time, so I don't see how it's professionally insulting. If she's appearing at an event with MM, it's not insulting to reference that she was once part of that group.



HOWEVER, this all may be a pointless debate. I just went to the link PQ post and the site now says "HANGRY & ANGRY" will appear and have a signing. Has it always been written that way, or does this mean Rika is in fact coming?

Hmm, I think of it like this...

It is different when the celebrity is being profiled as an idol personality vs promoting their work. Since Yossi and Rika performed as H&A at another convention and considering the way they are promoting her for AX, it seems they want her to promote that band and make them some money. So Yossi is not coming as herself or even as a general celebrity -- she is coming as the brand representative. And if I hired Yossi to promote my brand, I'd be pissed if that brand was glossed over for a former job that she is no longer doing. Also in general, the media will ALWAYS list the most current job the profiled celebrity did as well as their most famous role. Identifying a still-active celebrity *only* by a former role is perceived as insulting because it suggests they have no more career and disregards everything they have done since then!



It is weird that they don't bill it as "Yossi of Hangry & Angry" instead of just saying "H&A." I guess it is because Yossi is performing under the stage name of Hangry and it might be stupid to bill "Hangry of Hangry&Angry" or "former MM-member Yossi as Hangry of Hangry & Angry" etc. Also, it wouldn't carry any weight to the general audience at AX who are likely not fans of mm and thus do not care if they bring along a retired member. I think we're looking at it two different ways. My original post (and Aeug's, I assume) was meant to ask "Why are they only bringing Yossi to promote H&A?" If they're trying to promote Hangry & Angry, it seems silly to only bring one member - especially since it's a group that focuses so much on the concept of the characters rather than the personalities of the individual members. If they're bringing Yossi just cause they like Yossi, then it makes more sense to me to advertise her based on her relationship to MM, unless......
