I wasn't really sure where to put it. It's news. But It's about a musical artist. But there is some politics and opinons behind it.

I love me some Michael, but a Nobel Peace Prize? I mean, he did donate a lot to charity and spread love and happiness...but so does Angelina Jolie :/.

This. He's already in the Guinness book of records (or at least was at one time) for the number of charities he supported, and he's received awards in the past directly relating to what he was doing. This sort of thing never would have come up if he wasn't dead, and this seems like another form of "capitalizing" on his death, just in an emotional way rather than a monetary one.

He's dead. He doesn't need an award. Give it to a living person who can apperciate it.

He deserves it more than Yasser Arafat. Of course, that's setting the bar extremely low, but you can thank the Nobel folks for setting it thus.
