P.S. THERE ARE LOTS OF PRETTY GIRLS IN AKB. ALL OF YOU CAN SHOVE IT.
Myao is one of the most adorable things I've seen.
Is it her bad shot or what?
Judging from that photo, she looks better than Mitsui&Linlin and worse than other MM members. In conclusion, she look totally average-looking, which doesn't fit for a idol.

Re: AKB48 Coming to NYC Sept. 27!
We get it. You think AKB48 is full of ugly trolls. I'm not gonna bother arguing with you since my tastes are clearly drastically different than someone who considers Michishige's attractiveness to be a miracle. Anything I said would be disagreed with. Just try to remember that this isn't a competition: some girls are pretty regardless of which talent agency they work for and what idol group they're in! It's amazing, I know, but it's how the world works.

What's the first thing you do when you return home after a concert?

Re: AKB48 Coming to NYC Sept. 27!
Don't be upset. I am just trying to understand and learn about AKB. Because they are big name in Japan, I thougt they must have something to be big. And I am trying to find what it is.We get it. OK. I admit that a miracle was a little exaggeration there. I meant Michishige is pretty over the par in terms of looks.who considers Michishige's attractiveness to be a miracle.

I believe they always lipsynch, Madara. Unless they don't? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ertain.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> You were lucky to get a proper setlist; in Paris we got mere 10 songs, and they skipped on the "scandalous" oldies which just happen to be my favourites (mainly for their awesome arrangements <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... smooch.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='=3=' />).P.S. Here's a shot of the floor during the concert:
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2531/396582..._3a72a63c15.jpg
And that's most of the crowd.
I'll be interested to read about that. I'm not gonna elaborate because Shelly would yell at me, but despite trying I still can't find one good reason why one would like AKB more, not to mention ditch H!P altogether for them. Both had started out as Hello! Project fans and now like AKB48 more and gave good reasons why
For comparison, a shot of the Paris day 2 audience (from close but not entirely in the front):
Not the best perspective to see, but the people in your picture seem at best like 1/8th of the Paris crowd. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Re: AKB48 Coming to NYC Sept. 27!
They were separate concerts with separate audiences, in the sense that the concert hall was emptied between the acts. The line for the AKB48 gig started forming approx when the previous act (Puffy AmiYumi) started. So if you went to see Puffy then you were screwed and could only get some very far-off spot for AKB. Anyway, this more or less ensured that mostly only interested people attended each gig.

There's tons of reasons to like AKB! All you haters can die in a fire! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... omgwtf.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Especially aine!
To be fair, AKB also brought their fan club to Paris. But they were allowed in the concert hall before us regular people. And even then, it was only some 2-3 rows of people before us.

Re: AKB48 Coming to NYC Sept. 27!
Does enjoying to look at Oshima Mai and Itano Tomomi pics make me a akb fan ?
I don't know, but I also like one of their songs (Aitakatta Aitakatta yeahhhh) and don't have a problem with them. Hell, I even went to their theatre, because I was interested.
The anpanman guy seems like a troll to me.
Anyway, let's drive this thread to it's initial topic: Any more photos/reports from the NY thing ?
And Madara, how come you always get to be in front of the camera when there's something happening ? haha

Re: AKB48 Coming to NYC Sept. 27!
Oh please. It's natural to do stuff like this. Nsnyc vs Backstreet Boys, Xbox vs Playstation, K-Pop vs J-Pop. I'm not actually sitting here seething over people posting about AKB on my MM-BBS or anything. I actually do like them to an extent. I just like poking fun at them and their fans even more. :B Especially seeing how people love getting worked up over it.
But yeah, let's not derail any further. Please continue talking about their successful underground concert with more people on stage than in the audience. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... oleman.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':omgwtf:' />

Re: AKB48 Coming to NYC Sept. 27!
I'm afraid I'm might derail this thread again, but did anyone else watch theMusic Fighter segment for Iiwake Maybe? Akimoto went from being cool to awesome in my book after watching it. They pick on her a lot, but she takes it in stride and makes it entertaining. I laughed my butt off throughout it. I didn't like the single as much, so the performance bored me, but their interview segment was top notch.
Re: AKB48 Coming to NYC Sept. 27!
To further answer Strawberryjam's question: They sang two songs in English: English versions of their singles, "Bingo!" and "Oogoe Diamond." They sang the latter twice.
Which got me to thinking: AKB48 worked a little harder than MM by adding English songs and doing a total of 17 numbers in 96 min. Morning Musume did only an hour and five minutes of actual concert performance and did no songs in English. Hmmm...
I should add that, in terms of the girls' looks, the pictures I consulted on the websites to try and familiarize myself with the ones coming to New York simply did not do most of the girls justice. The only ones who photograph as well as they look are Sayaka and Takamina.

They also sang some songs in French when they were in Paris, but I don't remember which ones... Strawberryjam can answer that though! Anyways, I agree with EmEl's quote that some songs are better than others, and I like them both.

They actually only sang one song in French (although it was only partially): "Sakura no Hanabiratachi".

Re: AKB48 Coming to NYC Sept. 27!
As for the guy with the kids, I doubt the kids were fans of AKB48. He was yelling with the bouncer/security guy saying it was ridiculous that they made his kids wait. I think those kids were about 4 or 5 years old. Plus, he was holding on to the new bikini magazine of the AKB girls. I highly doubt he bought the magazine for his 4-5 year old kids. Plus, the websites and emails clearly said that it was 18+ age.
Well, it said "Free 18+ event with RSVP" - in small print. Enough of a hint to make a careful reader investigate before dragging along his kids. But also ambiguous enough (and small enough) to easily be overlooked. It's not quite the same thing as saying in bold letters, "No one under 18 will be allowed in."

Re: AKB48 Coming to NYC Sept. 27!
I just received "official" figures of the head count at each of the AKB48 events and they're so far from reality that I'm not even going to print them here.
Well, except for one. For instance, they say there were 1000 at the Concert preview. That's only if you count everybody else who was in the dealers' room who was in actual earshot of the preview, most of whom had no interest in AKB48. The crowd around the stage actually watching the preview was considerably smaller, maybe a fifth of their count, if that many.

Madara, you're posting the links to the medium-sized photos. I think Ap2000 wants the original photo files <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':drunk:' /> (Or am I totally off?)
And yes, you can change the resolution (size/detail) of the photo in the camera. e.g., from superfine (my roommate's can handle 4000 x 3000 pixels, which would probably take up 4 computer screens) to coarse (something so pixelated and blocky that you could hardly make out the details). I think you'll have to consult the manual to see how detailed your camera can go, and then, flickr also has its own programs to resize your photos when you upload them.
