Vidal Sasoon's Japanese website (vidal.jp) updated with two new commercial projects with Namie Amuro under the Fashion x Music VS dealy.
The first commercial features "My Love," a down-tempo R&B ballad with heavy synth influences. The commercial theme is "Galactic Look" and it is promoting VS's hair-care series. You can watch the 30s version here.
The second commercial uses "COPY THAT," a surfer/spy hybrid tune. The commercial's theme is "AMUROAD WORLD STYLING" and follows Namie as she shows off "AmuLondon," "AmuRussian," and "AmuLos Angelas" styles. It promotes VS's styling series. The 60s version is here.
Galactic Looks is really a beautiful commercial with great space effects and colors. AMUROAD has a cute hint of toungue in cheek humor and shows off some great outfits, though it really feels like the NEW LOOK PV.

Yay! These Vidal Sassoon collaborations are always so stylish and better than regular releases... which is kinda sad ._.

Re: Namie Amuro and Vidal Sasoon team Up again!
(I KNEW this thread was here somewhere...)
Namie Amuro's got a new studio album releasing December 16. The title still hasn't been decided.
The latest confirmed tracklisting:
【CD】
· WILD
· Dr.
· MY LOVE
· COPY THAT
· FAST CAR
· BAD HABIT
· LOVE GAME
· Steal my night
· Shut Up
· The Meaning Of Us
· Defend Love
· FIRST TIMER (missing twelfth track from the previous announcement)
【DVD】
· FAST CAR (MV)
· LOVE GAME (MV)
· The Meaning Of Us (MV)
· Defend Love (MV)
· WILD (MV)
· Dr. (MV)
COPY THAT and MY LOVE are being used for Vidal Sassoon (above), but they aren't getting PVs. They have been played on the radio and radio rips are available. I wonder if these are the true order of tracks. I love WILD and Dr., but I don't know if they're good for the first tracks of an album...

Re: Namie Amuro and Vidal Sasoon team Up again!
If it's as good as her PLAY album, I'm def. going to be excited for this upcoming album. FIRST TIMER for what? This isn't her debut. She's been knocked up. What else can she be a first timer for?

Re: Namie Amuro and Vidal Sasoon team Up again!
Sup hoes? PAST < FUTURE has leaked and I believe that 3 of the 4 new PVs have leaked as well. First impressions/review time!
FAST CAR: This was used in the 30s teaser CM for P<F and has a swing/jazz style. The PV is western/Moulin Rouge themed with a lot of nice dancing and good looking sets. It's a good song, but I wished that made a PV for Shut Up or something else. Still, the songs is upbeat, the singing is technically sound, but a little forgetful.
COPY THAT: Kind of repetitive, but the song is really lifting and the chorus is both catchy and fulfilling. I love the audio glitching sprinkled throughout the track. The song has a surfer style with a strong bass line. The final :45 or so of the track devolves into a nice little hip-hop beat. So great!
BAD HABIT corrupted, so that didn't make it to my iPod, so that'll be later...
similar story with LOVE GAME, but I saw the PV for it and it's okay. The PV is nice, but the song is a little underdeveloped.
Steal My Night: hip-hop/dance/mediterranean style with some average speed rapping. The chorus is a little lacking, but the rhythm is unique and not disappointing.
FIRST TIMER feat. DOBERMAN INC.: Hip-hop song with a strong rhythm, but the featuring rapping I could do without. It's also really long for my taste. :\
WILD and Dr. are single songs and both very good. Speaking of singles, 60s70s80s did not make it onto P<F, despite only being on BEST FICTION, a compilation CD.
Shut Up: this song is a real gem. The chorus is perfect, the arrangement is both dancable and atmospheric, and the lyircal rhythm is, again, a unique beat. SHARRAP! The break is kinda funny too. SHAT. UP. It's so great, even if it's probably more acoustic than anything else on the album.
My Love: R&B with a heavy synth influence. The first 30s exactly what they used for the top-post VS commercials. It's really a nice cool-down to the next track, a full-on ballad.
The Meaning of Us: The beginning sounds very arrhythmical to me, but I have probably not heard it enough. The chorus is very technical and could use a little more emotion (which reminds me of Should I Love Him? when the studio version was by-the-book technical and the live was SO STRONG). I'm looking forward to this in the tour very much.
Defend Love: A strong, electronic tune to finish off the album. The PV (and song?) will be a sequel to Dr. where Amuro is sent into '89 and meets an older Gundam protagonist (the animation is in that style as well). The song has a slightly loose grasp on rhythm between chorus and verse, but the beat, build-up, and chorus are memorable.
Overall, the album has a stronger acoustic presence and I can see a live band for the tour (starting in April) doing more than playing a new snare part without having to completely re-arrange the song (coffcoffBESTFICTIONTOURcoffcoff). If you miss this album you will be missing out on about 6-7 great new Namie songs.

Yeas. Finally something Japanese to listen to. Namie is the only Japanese artist that I have been keeping tabs with.
