Giant stuffed animal paparazzi and cheerfully kicking UFO catcher ass... it's just good to see them in something light-hearted and goofy again.
I think this stuff is pretty pop, personally. To me calling this rock would be like calling Simple Plan an actual band.

Lovin' the faux-lesbian, t.A.t.U thing. That's originality, right there.
Well the faux-lesbian thing is in all idol music so it's just whether or not it's pushed more in one song or the other. I mean, what do you think of GAM then? That's what they were created for, fanservice. There's AKB's Oshibe/Meshibe pair, Rika/Yoshi have always been the fanshipped pair.

I like them because they're both sexy as hell. Not a huge fan of Top Secret because it's too electronica, but I loved all their songs from their first album. Gimmick or not they're a fun pair and seem to really enjoy the different performance style.

Eh, for me, as a Yossi fan, I am just THRILLED she is still doing stuff after graduation. She's already done two more albums than Makoto/Kei/Yaguchi/etc ever will past graduation.

I'm aware, and the fanservice and just general pre-packaged quality of idolness is why I don't like idols anymore <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

ETA: Though for what it's worth, at least GAM could sing.

H&A were the opening act at this V-ROCK Festival thing yesterday in Japan.

Fanrecording of TOP SECRET (pretty high-quality):

Download of TOP SECRET, Sadistic Dance, & The Peace fanrecording:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/nmyqdw

All I am gonna say about TOP SECRET is that the bit in the PV preview was the best part of the song. The rest of the song doesn't really gel well with it.

I know MMBBS is known for being the place on the internet where it's okay to actually voice the fact that you dislike a member or a song or a whole group, but if you don't like idols in general anymore, why come to a board like this (or more specifically the H!P section) and continue to check up on what idols are doing? It seems like a waste of time.

I for one am thoroughly pleased by ultra-manufactured groups, when I want them. Thats why I liked Matsuura so much back in the day. The girl was a fucking robot and damned good at it. However, being manufactured is different than being cliche. The "cliche" is why H!P disappoints me lately. H&A is fun. Their costumes are fun. Their songs are upbeat. As a concept, they are beyond ridiculous. They don't take themselves too seriously. That's why its fun! Tatu sucked because they took themselves way too seriously and actually pretended to be lesbians. This is all just pure empty pop performance. Enjoy it!

I actually couldn't stand GAM. They were so cheesy and the entire concept rested on this fantasy that Miki and Matsuura were BFFomgLOLsUNICoRns!!1101. Maybe I prefer my pop when things are ridiculous up front. I only seek genuineness etc from rock stars. Strange.

Ps. Anyone with lyrics to this? I want to know what is so top secret, that nobody knows. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /ph34r.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

TOP SHIKURET.

I giggled at about 40 seconds in when it looked like Rika was fapping on the couch behind Yossy.

The full song is doable. I like it well enough, but yeah, the chorus is the only interesting part, and I'm still not totally feeling Yossy's new look. Rika's had the same standard long hair with a blue streak for a while, and thankfully, it works on her. Other than that, I'm wondering if they're ever going to have a Sadistic Dance PV since it's the title track and happens to be the song that got me into this new unit.

This is in no way official, someone on JPM did this by ear. It's just the chorus that was in the 30sec teaser.

Let's never mind

Rika looks mentally challenged in the PV. Still, the song is okay and the chorus is memorable.

I'm not feeling this one as much as the stuff from the first album, maybe because there's not as many effects on the verse lines, so I'm hit with the full force of how much Yossi and Rika suck at singing. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' /> It's kind of catchy though, it might grow on me. It's cool that they upped the budget on this PV, but neither of them seem to be "in character" anymore. The only way it's really tied to the product is the fact that they threw 100 million Hangry & Angry dolls in the limo.

Damn it's catchy! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... prised.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' /> It's definitely going in my playlist once the single is out. I think I like it more than Kill Me Kiss Me.

I enjoy this kind of electronica a lot, and I don't care this is manufactured and nothing but a tie-in for a commercial product. Half, if not more, of the charted songs is a tie-in for some commercial product in some way, be it a drama, movie, cosmetics, mobile phones... Doesn't stop me from enjoying it when it's good.

And for people complaining h&A is a bad knock-off of t.A.T.u., h&A is by orders of magnitude better than Japan's previous attempt at knocking t.A.T.u. off. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/meh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

The video for Top Secret is not that bad. Once I muted the audio, I was able to sit through the whole thing.

I'm going to be honest.

As a huge t.A.T.u. fan, I don't think H&A are all that similar other than the obvious lesbo-erotic thing going on. Maybe for me that's a pretty small thing, but other people see it as a big similarity to have.

Maybe t.A.T.u. made the whole lesbian thing seem normal, so no other band can be interesting while trying the same gimmick. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> No idea.

Yea it's gotten stale. IMO we need some blunt man-on-man idol action (I have some specific ideas in mind but I'll spare you 8o).

And in order not to get too off topic here, uh, I love Rika and Hitomi. H&A not so much.

Just like their debut, this album will also be available in a lunchbox.

It's better this time since you can actually order it from Hello! Store USA instead of finding someone in Japan: http://www.hellostoreusa.com/hangry-and-an...pre-order-.html

It also comes with a DVD.

The "limited" version of their first CD lunchbox is still available.

Apparently, since last year, Hangry swapped her/his red and yellow hair colors, and Angry switched from a bonnet to a mini-hat.

The album has been leaked even though its release is in two weeks or so.

I obviously had no good expectations for the music at all. I'm happy to say that the other songs are far better than Top Secret and Sadistic Dance were. I was afraid of the "crash berlin versions" because Angelia was the only song from the last album that I liked. But it doesn't ruin the song (or really overly change it). I suppose they are remixes by Crash Berlin or something? I haven't listened to the original in a long time, but (for Angelia's remix at least) it just seems like the mixing is different. Their voices are clearer and they either added some guitar or made the guitar clearer.

As for "The <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/star.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Peace!"... Well, let's just say the arrangement is no DANCE <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/star.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> MAN.

The album is now uploaded to mm-bbs's online radio now if you want to hear it, but don't feel like finding it.

As for me

I ended up giggling at the first songs name for about 2 minutes before i could even start listening to it. Mr Monkey???? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... R#>/XD.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

Top secret is okay, but the video got me off the song. It's just too darn weird. I bought a copy of Sadistic Dance when it was buy only online thing, (side note, pissed someone off because i was able to get it, and they don't have a itunes account, thus they couldn't) Anyway, Lady Madonna made me think of Still doll till they got till the paris paris part. (atleast it sounds like that's what they are saying?) Doubt makes me think of just some weird old japanese song (bad description). The Crash Berlin versions, Angelia turned out awesome, I like hearing them better ^like said before. Anyway, i didn't like it in Kill me, Kiss me. KmKmCBV is okay, but no thanks. Giza Giza may be awesome, but i wouldn't sing along to it.

The★PEACE! was too much of an attempt to hard rock an good song, so i turned to The actual ★PEACE! song.

(Also even though i have it as mp3's, i want to get the lunch box! It just looks so awesome!)

I only like this concept because it's cool to look at. You have to admit, the black & white image with their hair highlights that was posted on the first page of this thread makes a hell of a lot better wallpaper than just the generic cutesy group MM picture.

Interestingly, the booklet bundled with the CD includes the romaji and English translations of all the songs.
