I watch the walking dead each week. I say I like the walking dead, and I do but I don't.

The writing on this show is so painful. I think I'm in love with the idea of having a zombie serialization than I am the show. The writing team needs to be fired. The entire waste a half season on a wild goose chase got me peeved enough, but this episode was full of horrible dialogue and I give the actors props for not making it as painful as it could have been. :/ This show disappoints me constantly, but I tune in every week because I know it can be more.

It should've been Lori.

Oh look there's walkers.

SAVE HIM DO SURGERY WITH A POCKETKNIFE IN AN ALLEY

WASTE MORE AMMO!

AAAAH PAIN

STFU YOU'RE MAKING TOO MUCH NOISE AND ATTRACTING THEM

LET'S BRING HIM HOME EVEN THOUGH HE SNIPED US TEN SECONDS AGO

It's the right thing to do.

Dammit Rick you are such a....! He goes and shoots two men in a moment I cheered. He then goes and tries to be Mr. Peacekeeper when the group looks for him. Once they enter a shootout, he should know the rest of the group is like the two men he killed. He risks the group by even ENTERTAINING the idea that an amputation could be done on a live patient with a group of walkers surrounding them who was shooting at them not even ten seconds prior! Then he drives him back to the camp! And his master plan is to dump him on the road with valuable supplies? This amount of stupid is leading a group of survivors?

And the worst thing is that Rick's stupidity makes me a part of Team Shane. SHANE! Rick is so stupid I support the megalomaniac! The writers ruined the awesomeness of Daryl too.

I fully support the killing of most of the cast as the end of season shocker. Even though it's just going to be Shane. Shane, I will miss you! Please take down Daleface when you go out in a blaze of glory.

I think once Community nears its comeback I'm making a thread. We have more than enough watchers of the show to support it.

It's just as well it was never picked up. And never will be. It's odd how (almost) all the players involved are great but it somehow manages to fall flat on its face. Just as a little relevant info nugget, Richard Ayoade (who plays Moss) actually directed the Dinner With Andre episode of Community.

Yeah I'm not so sure about that comment. (I assume you dislike that comment and not mine. ) They actually shot and produced 6 episodes of the US version for NBC back in 2007, but apparently the new president of NBC at the time didn't "spark" to it, so it was shelved for good. And since the actors all involved are currently with other projects, I can't see them reshooting the show yet again. And the fact that the creator has decided not to continue any more episodes of the UK version, I can't see him really getting behind another "version".

If you consider yourself a lover of animation then you should watch Avatar: The Last Airbender and catch its sequel The Legend of Korra. (They had to drop the Avatar because Cameron thinks he can trademark a word as old as the ages. And you know, its so easy to get blue aliens mixed up with multicultural humans)

The first series starts off a silly adventure type, but it has the best writing, animation, and character development that I've seen from an animated show in a long long time, American or foreign-wise. The sequel is interesting because Aang wanted a world where the benders and nonbenders of all tribes can mix, and the problems Korra has to face is a direct result of that. Plus she's older, has mastered all the elements except one, and the animation is sick from the previews. I'm super excited for it.

I agree with everything Petit said. The story and character development in Avatar really took me aback with their quality.

Watched the first two episodes and while I loved the first one, episode two was a little too contrived. We do not need a goddamned love story in everything, and her "revelation" about airbending was too soon and too forced!!! You're supposed to be the show that defies expectations, dammit!!!

I am happy that Korra's pretty much a badass right out of the gate and not some goofy scrappy kid that miraculously picks everything up instantly. I also like that despite her idealism and goodness, she's kind of a dick.

(inspired by the discussion in the Movies thread)

I told a friend I had never seen Firefly and I still have an imprint on my ribcage from where he shoved the boxset. I'm watching one a day and I watched the second today. I'm not such a fan of the cowboy motif, but I'm really getting attached, especially to all the unexpected humor twists.

I managed to wait because I needed to watch the premier in glorious HD and since it's officially premiered, all systems are go~

Image

look at that it is that beautiful in motion too yee-haw gimmie dat blu-ray

TWENTY SIX EPISODES WILL NOT BE ENOUGH

The first episode has the mannerisms of a rash teenage girl down to a T. I also praise the nice fight scenes. It's obvious when they had to cut corners to pay for said scenes (there are quite a bit of static shots and slow pans across static shots) but it's nothing to be upset about. Some of the fight scenes could have used better angles and weight, but those are mere flashes in the actual scene and nothing I'm going to piss and moan about. (But I will say that I noticed them lol) I love the steampunk+traditional chinese inspired designs. I cannot wait for the artbook for this series. The first artbook is one of my greatest treasures.

I hope the love triangle doesn't exist. I don't want it to exist. But it seems to be popular with teenage media now. :( That said, I do enjoy watching the sort of "bickering" relationships onscreen. Better than the "too shy to say anything" type at any rate.

The soundtrack was amaaaazzziiinnngggg.I want the OST. But we won't get one because this isn't fucking Japan UGGGHHHH!

All in all, I rate this FUCKING AWESOME out of ten. Now to find a place to watch Kids on the Slope and the new Lupin and I can sit and bask in animation heaven.

As I said before, episode one was amazing, but episode two was too full of contrived shit that I expected far better from the makers. Pointless romance subplot two episodes in? Instant realization that she understands the properties of air even though it completely has gone against everything we've seen from her? Ugh... I wonder just how many teams they have working on individual episodes, because I doubt they both came from the same writing team, unless the first episode was from when it was going to be a mini series and the second is a product of "we're now making it longer so we need pointless padding" disease. Sometimes less is more, dammit!
