It must be terrible for a girl to watch that show, haha, it's so misogynistic. Me and my roommate watch it as soon as it shows up on torrent (you can stream it off MTV and it's way ahead of the torrent scene for some reason, but you have to use a proxy and it's really annoying), and it's kinda like our "male bonding" thing. We used to watch UFC but that doesn't come on TV here anymore, so we switched to this now.

I have to say though the girls are really terrible, especially Sammie, what a manipulative little rat. She's got to be the only person who got another person into a fight and then still spun it like it's their fault. And she got into an argument because someone told her they wanted to hang out with them. Just wow. I really hate her, she's a terrible person.

I think my favorite has got to be Pauly D, or The Situation. I love how effeminate they are with their looks and stuff. I mean holy shit!

I watched most of the Jersey Shore marathon yesterday and I grew to love that show. MTV blacked out Snooki getting punched in the face :| Honestly, I hope they do a second season, but just with the same people. We don't need a new Real Veal World.

Due to an unhealthy obsession I've had with Shiri Appleby since the first episode of Roswell, I decided to watch the first episode of Life Unexpected. Not too bad.

A major difference being that they do this to themselves. Besides, it's also arguably the best thing that's ever happened to the East Coast. Certainly it has had nothing else going for it for quite a while.

So just to follow up what I wrote in the spam thread, Conan's Tonight Show has been great, he and his writers are doing some hilarious stuff with this very dry, sardonic humor, it's really a shame.

I'm also watching Glee, which I have some issues with some plot (relying too heavily on the popularity hierarchy to drive plot, numbers are often disjointed from the plot) but the dialogue and the acting are usually what draw me into the show. The music can be good, but sometimes it can feels a little too heavily produced. Minor things though, great show overall.

I'm still loving Modern Family, I really think this should have won best comedy on the Golden Globes, but (I think) Glee got away with it because it's both a musical AND a comedy (with some light sprinkling of drama, natch). And the GGs group them into the same category.

I've really been getting back into watching more TV, especially with Hulu. It just sucks that watching TV on Hulu doesn't really contribute directly to what the network execs want to see with "viewership", and is probably the cause of shows getting canceled even with strong demonstrative support. It just doesn't add up to the money the TV networks and companies want.

Great post! Yay for someone else hopping actively into this thread again.

Glee is awesome, and I've actually ended up watching the entire run on Hulu. Mostly because it airs at the same time as Law & Order: SVU, one of the few shows not available on Hulu. You're right about the vocal tracks being over-produced, and the constant thought in my head is, "God, why can't they let them sing live vocals more often. Maybe at least when they're not on stage, in the more intimate moments." They did technically do it, ONCE, in the run of episodes so far. It was a short part where they all sang simultaneously, but still... it was a refreshing change. I've always been a fan of live, undoctored vocals (which is a big part of why I adore singer/songwriter and folk music so much). Whenever stuff is unnecessarily over-produced, I've jokingly called it "Phil-Spectorized." But I guess for musicals in television and movie form, lip-synch and over-rproduction is really the norm.

Modern Family is another fave, and funny enough, another one I always hafta catch on Hulu. Seeing as it runs during that same time slot as SVU and Glee. The men behind Frasier (Chris Lloyd) and Just Shoot Me (Steven Levitan) are behind it, which is already enough explanation as to why it's so good. They've both had a few flops with their shows since the aforementioned hits, and it's good to see they've found a formula that works (together). Great ensemble cast, too. Not to mention it has Ty Burrell, in the role he was born to play. The return of Ed O'Neill, who does an amazing job. And literally too many flawlessly-beautiful and talented women to count. In the Hulu comments section, people are always bashing it, and I can't see why.

I had two marathons in the past month -

Glee. The positive reviews here plus cheap price made me pick up the first DVD set. Oh, I am in love! Now I am saddened by the long wait for new episodes. At least FOX didn't cancel it, which is my number 1 fear for shows on FOX. I agree the processing is out of control. I laughed when they went so far as to fix Kurt's off key note! And a lot of the actors on the show are accomplished Broadway stars - it's not like they can't handle it!

The Office season 5. I've never seen the American version of The Office, but I liked it. Somewhat. You see, by time episode 20 hit I wanted to watch something else. I think I would've liked it more had the watch not been in a marathon format. Funny show, I would catch it while it's on and I happen to be surfing but I don't think I'll actively search it out.

While talking with a few anonymous people about Lost, somebody mentioned The Lost Room.

So I downloaded it and watched it in a single sitting yesterday evening/night. It's only 6 episodes, but very intriguing ones !

It's like a X-Files case strechted and enhanced. If you like shows like X-Files, Twin Peaks or Lost, you will probably like this a lot.

I don't want to spoil much about the plot, but it's basically about a room that somehow got disconnected from time and space and all the objects that were in the during the moment it got ripped from our time and space have special (sometimes completely useless) paranormal powers.

Eventhough they didn't answer some huge questions, it still felt somehow satisfying, eventhough I would have made the end different. (more depressing)

Still a very enjoyable series with a few very cool and funny ideas.

Caprica got cancelled (it had really bad ratings apparently), but they're going to make an William Adama prequel during the Cylon War called Blood & Chrome.

I'm not sure how to feel about this, I liked Caprica because it was slow-paced and not hectic at all.

The Walking Dead was awesome! I was a little worried that they would make it too jump-scary, or that the main character wouldn't have a decent American accent or be unable to act seriously (since I only know him from the British sitcom teachers), but those fears were unfounded. I still found that occasionally they would shoot stuff too close up and too shaky-cam style (especially near the end, I had no fucking clue what I was seeing some of the time). But anyway it seems like this is gonna be amazing.

Recently fell in love with Archer, a delightfully amazing The Office/James Bond cartoon (the Arrested Development association is too easy). I get this pure classic feel from it that all short-lived-but-amazing shows have. I see early Futurama, early 30 Rock, Arrested Development; it's so purely funny while being perfectly insular.

Ok, so my parents and I love Pawn Stars and we even love all of the copy-cat shows. My personal favorite is the furniture store in bum-fuck Ohio with a femal cast that perfectly matches the cast from Pawn Stars. Also, it's called What The Sell.

If you love Twin Peaks, then I can recommend this episode of a show called "psych" to you:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual_Spires

It's basically a whole episode dedicated to tributing Twin Peaks, which is great.

Unfortunately the show itself seems really dumb, though the black guy was pretty cool. But overall you should still watch it, just to see how many references they put into this episode. It's amazing.

A german/french TV channel called "arte" is re-running Twin Peaks.

I do have the first season on DVD, but I'm so going to watch this on TV every week.

I also plan on re-watching LOST this summer. (or at least Season 4-6)
