Man, I was iffy on this until I heard Risako tearing shit up. I'm not sure her singing is good or bad here, I can't fucking tell, but it's fucking awesome. I like the chorus. I think this is better than their last single. I can't wait for a better preview.

I'm diggin' the o-wao wao's. I can't hear Risako, is that a good or a bad thing? They all sound the same to me. I swear I'm hearing people that shouldn't even be in there like Takahashi. The only one I can point out is Momoko and that's only because she has such a distinct voice. Half of Berryz have this uncanny ability to sound like boys when they sing.



It's a good Anime song though. I'm sure it'll do well for them as long as they can pull of a nice PV. Their last two PVs for their last single were very underwhelming.

Otakebi sounds awesome, I hope Risako has the chance to use this new power in Viyuden.



Tomodachi really makes me think of The Possible and the chorus parts sort of sound like they were for MM around the time of 4th Ikimasshoi! Either way, sounds more TNX than Berryz. It's pretty cute and I like the fast lines that fit entirely too many syllables.

PV Released today for Tomodachi Ha Tomodachi Nanda. It's in low quality because it came from a cellphone, but the full DohhhUp! version should be released soon I hope. I think this is one of Berryz best PVs yet. (Aren't Budgets and good PV directors fun!?)

There's an actual story behind this PV which is cool I guess, most H!P PVs never have a story of any kind. Can't wait to see what they have in store for the other single.

I haven't listened to the songs yet, well, maybe a little but not enough for an opinion. Now, those covers are precious! Except for the regular version; although the girls look good, I really don't like those costumes... Anyway, nice idea of having 11 people, like a soccer team!

Otakebi sounds pretty decent. I can't distinguish voices at all (well, minus Momoko) in the concert rip, but all of them are going for it, and I dig that. Looking forward to an HQ version.



I really, really like Tomodachi. For one, the PV isn't a greenscreened glorified dance-shot in a ridiculous costume <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /weeeh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sigh:' /> It's actually got a touch of human emotion, holy damn. The song is sweet and happy without being too sugary, and I mostly like the arrangement. The vocal patterns during the verses are just awesome. I could absolutely do without the synth they used for that solo around the 3 minute mark, but the piano that opens that instrumental break is fantastic. I don't know why this sticks out to me so much, but reusing the guitar bit from the beginning to end the song is annoyingly boring/conventional in this case. Anyway, nitpicks aside, song is great.

I like this PV a lot. Both of them really, and both the songs.

First time since the Double Asides that I've liked both the songs right away.

The single got released...

It got ranked at 4th for the first day, selling (probably) around 10K (as the third place sold 10.8K).



I like both songs, but some things bother me.



1) Yurina getting only one solo in each of the songs. (espaically otakebi, because her voice is made for this song and her solo sound amazing).



2) Risako hogging lines (in tomodachi) and also singing the high note...



3) Miyabi weird looking hair (I know it's fake, and it's also looking fake).



4) Again, risako aperring to much!!!





But I liked momoko in both of the song, chinami look amazing in otakebi, saki is cute as hell, yurina sound amazing in both songs and miyabi last line in otakebi is win...



Overall both songs are great, except for risako hogging tomodachi!

This song and PV are cool as hell. Keeping most of their vocal patterns in low keys to sound badass actually works pretty well and keeps them from sounding off. The arrangement is a bit weird, but its a fun song once you get used to it. The lightning sound effects in the video are distracting, though.
