Junsu/Jejung/Yuchun's activities in Japan suspended

Post by neshcom »

Avex Entertainment announced on Thursday that the three-member group JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN (of TVXQ) will be putting their activities in Japan on hold for the time being, due to problems with their management agency. The bad news came just after the group simultaneously topped the album and DVD sales charts this week.

Junsu, Jejung, and Yuchun are managed by the Korean agency CJeS Entertainment. It was learned that a representative of the company, whose father is part of the leadership of a criminal organization, used his father's position to commit blackmail and extortion against the artists he managed. He is also said to have served a prison sentence.

According to Avex, a recently conducted investigation could not determine whether the man has ties to the organization at this point in time, but it found that the other allegations are true.

Meanwhile, the lawsuit over the exclusivity of their management contract is progressing, and it appears that there is now a high probability that Avex's contract with the three artists will be declared invalid. Until that matter is resolved, Avex has determined that it should no longer manage the group's activities in Japan.

Although the decision has been made, Avex stated there will be no changes to their already scheduled releases or their current services. Furthermore, this matter should not affect Avex's exclusive contract for TVXQ, which was made with SM Entertainment.
Kind of whatevs about this. 'moshink' never made a big impression on me compared to the full Homoshinki.

Damn, that is some pretty scary company dirt. It explains a little bit why so many pop groups are essentially indentured servants to the management...

Avex, H!P, you name it,

<img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... lesson.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sideways:' /> all Jpop CD sales fund the Yakuza.

They just don't want the competition.

I'm confused. Why would an extortion scandal cause them to suspend their activities? It's not like they were the ones doing the extorting. Is everyone else on that record label suspending activities? Or is the real issue the contract exclusivity?

TVXQ has gotten way too complicated for me to care about. Maybe while these dudes are on break they can come up with a better group name than MYNAME/URNAME/HIZNAME.

Looks like stopping their Japanese activities isn't stopping their careers!

The Korean trio JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN, who recently had their activities in Japan suspended, have announced the release of a global debut album titled "The Beginning." The album will feature collaborations with well-known producers Kanye West, Rodney Jerkins, and Jae Chong.

The group will use JYJ as their official artist name for the album, which will be in English. Kanye West produced and appeared on the track "Ayyy Girl," set for release as the album's first single. Rodney Jerkins contributed two songs titled "Empty" and "Be My Girl," while Jae Chong produced one of the other tracks. In addition, each member of JYJ wrote a song for the album: "Still in Love" (Jejung), "I Can Soar" (Junsu), and "I Love You" (Yuchun).

Those seven songs are being combined with three remix tracks for a total of 10 songs on the album. Warner Music is distributing the album worldwide, available in CD and digital formats on October 12. A numbered, limited edition "Luxury Package" will also be sold (99,999 units). The "Ayyy Girl" single is being released through iTunes on October 19.

To promote the album, JYJ will embark on a "showcase tour" that will visit nine cities in October and November. The schedule is as follows:

* 10/15 - Bangkok

* 10/17 - Malaysia

* 10/24 - Hong Kong

* 10/30 - Taipei

* 11/7 - Shanghai

* 11/12 - New York

* 11/13 - Seattle

* 11/14 - San Francisco

* 11/19 - Los Angeles

More information about the album and the tour is available on the Tinsel PR website.

Oh gawd, this reeks of Se7en's bad English song all over again...

Oh, wait, I forgot about Yoochun. Sweeeet, he would've at least made sure all the English is correct (I hope). Maybe not so bad, but the Kanye West song still reeks of Se7enness.
