Hyosung, who no longer has hair that color.

The choreo thing is cute, though. T-ara did it before in Bo Peep, but it was really obvious in those performances.

Secret have a new single out, Starlight Moonlight

Too much sugar in that song for me. It's not exciting at all... they're playing it too safe.

I like it but it isn't as catchy as Shy Boy. I like the continuing (but toned down) retro vibe.

I like the retro style. And it may have sugar, but its fine for me... And I'm a guy. They've obviously still evolving, sticking with what works until they have to change again.

I hadn't heard of them until this thread... I'm hoping to learn more. I didn't know that Korean variety shows existed. I must know more and start watching some. I love variety shows.

I feel like this song is a big step down from Shy Boy. I really wish they would return to their old, funk-infused sound, to be honest. They sound like basically every other Korean girl group out there. Songs like Madonna and Magic made me such an instant fan because they were neither sexy, nor cute - they weren't pandering.

Although I agree that Madonna and Magic were both better (especially Magic, Madonna was nothing special to me), I really don't think they sound anything like any other Korean group out there, save Orange Caramel perhaps. Need I remind you, Korean pop normally sounds like this?

I love variety shows.

Korean "variety shows" are a little different from most of what I'm used to from the US at least, but they are very entertaining, going from really funny to heartwarming, with impromptu dancing and physical comedy etc. I really recommend checking out Strong Heart, I think that one is really good. There is a subbing forum/group dedicated to subtitling it (they take a while, but they're very thorough), because this one really is hard to enjoy without the translations (except for the physical comedy bits and the dancing I suppose).

Admittedly, I'm comparing them more to older Kpop, around 2006-2008, the height of my Kpop fandom. I feel like this is very similar to a lot of SNSD's earlier work, and KARA's later work both in sound and image, and I HATED that sugar-bubblegum-let's-all-try-to-sound-like-SNSD period, haha. The electro-rnb style has become more popular as of late, with groups like 2NE1but. God. I really hate this kind of music. Every girl group does it eventually, though. Normal > Cute > Let's-grind-on-each-other-in-leotards > Cute - that is the natural progression of a girl group, haha. Rinse, and repeat.

I dunno, I don't really hear Kara or SNSD in this (although admittedly I enjoy their music too). Both Kara and SNSD have always had a semi-modern sound for their time, even though it was/is cutesy. This is decidedly retro, plus I think Kara and SNSD both have a certain "cool" appeal even when SNSD was doing "Baby Baby" and so on, which the current Secret sound totally lacks (Magic/Madonna was definitely a lot cooler, although I never thought anything they did was especially cool... Doesn't help that Sunhwa is my main "connection" to this group though! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> ).

Well anyway. I actually really like the ballady B-side, as well, which was kind of a surprise. And at least they don't have any stupid raps anymore, since Zinger turned Singer! HAWwww...lol..... get it...... I'll see myself out.

Honestly, I'm commenting more on the image as well as the general cute style of the song than the song its self, haha. I suppose every girl group has to get the cutesy stage out of their system at some point, I'm just hoping they will return to their previous sound eventually. I liked having a girl group around that was neither sexy/cool nor cute/girly.

In Japan, you can be skanky as you want. South Korea has a lot of rules so you have to be more proper and not skanky.

Whyyyyy what's the point of remaking the exact same PV in "Japanese"? God, at least make a new PV concept.

Secondly, I only really like retro-style SECRET so I'm already biased. I can't tell the difference between them and KARA when they are styled like this.

Just coming to say Hyosung is unbelievably hot, and for some reason the Japanese Madonna video is the first time Sunhwa's eyebrows seem really... out there. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> I paid no attention to the song first go-around, but it's catchy.

I love how somehow gray hair works on Hyosung because she just looks so young. That can't be easy to pull off.

I've come to really like Secret, partially because of the behind the scenes features that reveal their insane diet and schedule. Those girls work hard. I'm sure other idol groups work just as hard, but still, with Secret I have specific examples.

I also like that for the most part they look healthy and not undernourished. Though, judging by their released diet, I have kind of a hard time seeing how that is. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... popper.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':popper:' />

PS: This is one of my favorite K-pop outfits ever, I think.

I've always thought of Zinger as the one with the hot bod, tbh.

Underwhelmed by Love is MOVE, tbh :( I like how it's kind of a mix between their former style and their new style but the song just can't hold my attention.

I really like it, but I feel like Bastard would have been a better track to promote. It's like Love is MOVE but better.

And on that note, the album isn't anything amazing, but it's pretty solid. I'd recommend listening to it. Zinger's solo song is cool.

Bastard is such a good song. Rarely are Korean album tracks better than the promoted tracks (to me, anyway) but I vastly prefer it to LiM.
