Co-Ed School makes their Debut!

Post by Shoujo Q »

AKA Co-Ed is a 10 member group created by Core Contents Media (Home to T-ara, Supernova, Davichi)

Image

Members are

Girls-

Soo Mi (Leader)

Hye Won

Hyo Young

Chanmi

Boys-

Kwang Heng

Yoosung

Taewoon (Rapper)

Kangho

Noori

Sungmin

They just released their first single Too Late, which they are calling a mini-album but it's really a single because there is only one song three ways.

Watch the (Almost 7 Minute Long MV) or Watch the 3:34 Live Performance.

The song is pretty generic kpop complete with autotune but with the added twist of having both male and female members. Do you like it?

edit: Can someone add an L to school for me?

Edited. But Co-Ed Schoo sounds coo'.

But this really an interesting concept. There's always groups with girls and groups with boys, but never together.

I just found the single/album/whatever. I'll check it out in a little while.

The last time this happened (at least successfully) was Koyote I guess? I've always liked this concept, though. Definitely checking this out. However T-ara is certainly one of my least favorite girl groups (and I never heard the other ones), so I don't know if CCM can do a decent job producing it. The first song isn't terrible, but it's just a poor man's Heartbreaker.

But that one girl is pretty hot.

It's interesting to see a group made up of both boys and girls, and I don't mind the music video, but the song is generic. I'm so tired of Autotune. When did it become acceptable to only use one vocal effect or else none at all? I love vocoders, talk boxes and the like - what happened to those? I'd much rather listen to Roger Troutman and his talk box than Kanye West.

But yeah, the video's not bad, and they all look pretty great. I'll keep an eye on them for now, just in case, but I don't expect too much.

Auto-tune = making non-talented people seem talented.

And then it became in with people who ARE talented, and Korea seems to take their music styles from us...

There you go.

I'm in the same boat as you though, Ridley. Autotune needs to go die in a fire.

Autotune gets far more hate than it deserves. There are tons of great uses of autotune, but the worst uses are what are popular usually, which is why everyone hates it. Just listen to some good vocal trance lol.

But yeah I like vocoder and talk box shit too.

I've already dubbed them the Korean AAA. I love AAA and I love T-ara. Win? ... Kinda. This song is alright, but MUCH BETTER than F1rst. I was expecting something more from the song I guess.

Meh. I listened to it, and I have two problems.

1 - Why does the single have the same song twice? (Seriously, there's no difference between part one and part two; unless I'm missing something).

2 - It's the same I've heard before from other K-pop artists. It reminds me of T-ara's "I Go Crazy Because of You," which I guess makes sense, but still...

It's an okay song. I like it, it's just...nothing new. :c

I don't like the song too much either, and I normally don't mind autotune but I just don't think it sounds right with this song. But then again I can't remember what is sounds like I just know I didn't like it.

This group has potential though, and because they have both boys and girls in the groups it's something different than the influx of girl groups that have been taking over this year. They just need better songs

I keep having a passing interest in this group and I'm waiting for them to get more interesting, but--

Soo Mi

Education: Korea Aerospace University (Aeronautical Science & Flight Operations)

^ Holy shit, did no one see that before?! Is that information right? If it is, I have no clue how she has time to be the leader of a Pop group AND do that. Unless it's just a fancy name for another degree program that's not half as science-y as other aeronautical-focused people I know...

Are "biribom" or "beribom" actual words? What do they mean? Either way, that song is trapped in my head forever.

Apparently Kangho is a rapist.

It doesn't matter that the person who posted it probably is just an anti who made it up, I see it having pretty serious complications for the groups. :/

I just listened to that today and was about to come in here and say the same exact thing. I was starting and stopping it and then had to go play Telephone just to see if I wasn't just imagining it. D:

So, aside from Kangho's rape allegations and admittedly really shady treatment of the entire situation by "netizens" and their production company alike, the interblags just dug up pictures of him at a bar lookin' like a straight up mob boss. He was and is below drinking age.

(On a related note: ~$~)

In addition to this, Hyoyoung broke her ankle.

The band's activities are now "temporarily" suspended.

Following the discovery of pictures of Co-Ed member Hot Blood Kangho having drinks in a private room of a bar, Balance Noori also underage with alcohol, and One Light Hyoyoung in the hospital for at least 5 weeks due to her broken ankle, Core Contents Media has announced that the group will temporarily put a halt on promotional activities.

“After this week, Co-Ed will put a halt on activities temporarily. This was decided because T-ara is scheduled to make a comeback,” said a representative of Co-Ed’s agency.

When asked about promotional schedules hereafter, the representative replied, “We have not made any concrete decisions as of yet.”

The extremely brief article here.

I feel bad for the rest of the group members, frankly.

R.I.P. Co-Ed, we hardly knew ye.

EDIT: So apparently they're releasing a new album in February. I'll be in the corner eating my hat.
