Hello! Project Summer 2010 Concert "Fankora"
Okay, I watched the concert DVD of this. I had to plow through nine set lists on Jpopstop.com to find the one that matched the DVD. It was from the ninth of nine different shows. Plus there was one 10-minute extra on the DVD: four numbers from a different show. Two of those numbers (High-King: "Destiny" and Buono: "Rock no Kami-sama") were listed in two other set lists. The other two, a solo by Saki Ogawa (in which she twirls a baton) and a song by the three "Lilpri" girls (the non-Saki S/mileage girls) in their Lilpri costumes, are not listed on any set list, so I don't know which show they're from or even what the song titles are.
For the record, the last six numbers are the same in every show. The first six numbers are almost the same, except that Erina Mano's solo in that portion alternates between "Onegai Dakara..." and "Genkimono de Ikou!"
So I'm a little frustrated. In going over the other set lists on the website, I find lots of other numbers that I would have preferred to see on the DVD. Now, I'm not going to suggest they release nine different versions of the DVD, or that they include everything that changed from concert to concert as an extra. But they could have given us a lot more in the way of extras than that. I understand that the numbers in the middle portions of each concert were chosen by fans, but that doesn't mean their choices were always good ones. Someone should have curated a good hour or two of the best "fankora" numbers and put them on a second disc. (I'm assuming that "fankora" refers to the songs chosen by fans. Is that correct?)
Aside from the ensemble opening and closing numbers ("All for One & One for All" and "Genki Pikappika!") each of the five H!P entities got four numbers (Morning Musume, Berryz Kobo, C-ute, S/mileage, Erina Mano). Two other units performed in the concert on the DVD: Zoku v-u-den and High-King. The concert's great when C-ute and BK are on stage, or any of their members. But only average when they're not. S/mileage is certainly cute and charming, but I would have preferred Buono or Pucchimoni V or more BK and C-ute instead of four numbers from S/mileage. In fact, I was surprised that S/mileage had so many songs in their repertoire, since, of the four songs they sing in each of the nine shows, two are different in every show, although those include some older H!P songs.
There were a lot of MC segments, some of them quite long. Yossi was Makoto's co-host and she looked very beautiful. The stage in the DVD was the rather cramped Nakano Sunplaza, where they've been doing most of their shows lately.
So, does anyone know of a set list for the DVD that would include the extras, so I can find out those missing song titles? The entire four-song extra is on YouTube here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT6JiAJyc-k
Also, any thoughts on how H!P should curate a concert DVD like this when there are so many different additional numbers fans would like to see? Are there any precedents in H!P history? All I know of are the multi-disc Winter Concert sets of years past.
Thank you.

I forgot where I posted it on here, but the blu-ray version of the concert is going to have another half dozen songs or so on it for the extras.

Re: Hello! Project Summer 2010 Concert "Fankora"
Fankora supposedly stands for "Fan Collaboration".
The Buono and High-King songs that you know are listed under a morning performance on the DVD extras. The other two songs are listed as part of the "Opening Act" of an evening performance. The songs are:
"Morning Chime" by the Oha-Girls (in this case just one of the OhaGirls, of course, but there did seem to be a day that all three performed. Jump to 2:50 if you care more about the performance than backstage nervous energy.)
"Little Princess Pri" which was LilPri's first single (in this concert DVD, Saki is included as a wota).

What's the first thing you do when you return home after a concert?
LinLin: "I stop thinking and stare into nothingness."

Part 1 of my blog series on this concert is up now.
Here's a photo I wanted to share:
And a question about it:
Why such a colorful color scheme for the audience? Do the different color T-shirts have some kind of significance?

Each H!P member has a "color" and usually all of their goods feature that color.
HOLD UP! I'M A GEEK THE BIG PARADOX!

Ayaka is Dark Blue, Saki is Lime Green, and Kanon is Purple. (It helps going to the H!P Tour Goods to find the right colors. ;D)
I have a feeling Morning Musume's colors are going to change again when the new girl/s come into play.

^ I tried looking for the tour shirts on hellostoreusa site, but they didn't have any!
I bet the new girls will just take the old colors, Koharu's red, and then Eri and JunLin's colors as well

And you're probably right. Though I did like seeing Takahashi in Red. :x

Re: Hello! Project Summer 2010 Concert "Fankora"
I watched through it and skipped through almost everything. It was pretty boring. Of all those setlists they had, they chose that one to come out first. And the extras were a waste to watch too, I can't wait for the blu-ray with the other performances to come out.

And to make things even better, unlike regular DVDs, Japanese Blu-rays have the same code as American Blu-rays and play fine on American Blu-ray players. I got my Blu-ray of the concert today and checked it out. It looks pretty spectacular. I may have to order more concert Blu-rays from CDJapan.

Yup, and thank God. For Blu-Ray, both America and Japan are included in region 1. Those being the two countries I would really need to watch anything from, I'm all set. This means, God willing I have the money again someday, buying and watching Blu-Rays of stuff will be much simpler. Sucks that I won't be able to back them up to (and watch them from) the computer, but a disc with all the aforementioned content is worth popping into the drive!

Just to clarify the region thing, as I mentioned in another thread these BlueRays are in fact region-free so you play them wherever you live. Yah for some common sense.
