Oh no.

I was quoting something Story said during a drunken Skype incident a couple of years ago. It seemed like a good idea at the time. My member title was "inches away from my face."

No, they were getting popular right when I got to Japan in '01, just about the same time as Beckham hair and all the World Cup insanity. BoA might have been '02ish, but the dramas were already going on.
I think that was meant to be kind of a tongue-in-cheek joke, honestly. I giggled at it anyway, so I hope it wasn't meant to be serious!
It was. I didn't expect this to cause any issue, but if it did, then sorry for my wording.

To make it clear, I think this thread is valuable and educational, and the BBS could benefit from having more like this. As sura and AEUG pointed out, they used to be commonplace. My only issue was that it strayed off topic really fast, hence the split. I'll be happy to see both discussions continuing in both threads.

If I came across too strong in my post, that's only because we did have a pretty similar H!P/AKB thread not too long ago. Personally I have nothing against threads or discussions on this particular topic, however Strawberry seems to have an opposite opinion. In fact, I'm usually perfectly fine with going largely off-topic as long as the discussion is flowing naturally and keeps a minimum level of informativeness and relevance, but I thought this thread was a really extreme example. Or maybe I just had a bad moment, or something.

eri and Plum - hope you didn't take it personally. Heated discussions, comparisons, being defensive, being offensive, invoking the Godwin law and circumventing it are allowed, encouraged and enjoyed for the benefit of everyone. We love you and there's no buts. And I forgot what I wanted to say, so just keep the discussion going.

Robbin' the cradle, baby. My goal of being a cougar by 22 has been met. I have always been ambitious. I'm a bit disappointed, though. My next British conquest was going to be David Tennant or John Allison.

Edit: It's OK, Haru. Just get some cash from the ATM machine to pay your redundancy fine.
I hate to sound rude, but it astonishes me how so many people use the same false arguments to defend or support Kpop every time it comes up. I really don't think they're catchy, well-produced, or have any kind of drawing factor at all, anymore.
Are you saying that the fact that you don't think any KPOP groups sing catchy, well-produced songs or have any drawing factor at all means that those qualities are off limits as reasons for people to present for why they like certain KPOP groups? That saying "I like (insert KPOP group here) because their songs are catchy and well produced, and the fact that they are great dancers and interesting personalities are also a drawing factor for me" is presenting "false arguments" for their enjoyment of certain KPOP groups? Because that's how it reads.

Images from: http://snsdkorean.com

This is why Kpop is popular right now.

The hair, imo, should be as iconic as their legs.

They all kind of look the same to me, but so far, she's the prettiest.

Yeah, that was not the intent, it was mostly a joke and another way of saying "reasons I wholeheartedly disagree with." I've been calling lots of things "false" lately as a joking way of saying "I disagree." In real life, that is. I guess I should've just said "people use the same arguments that I disagree with," but that sounds grammatically wrong and awkward.

That's a classic. I like saying "your opinion is wrong", but that's a bit more obvious.
