You can say what you want about your fancy RPGs that have since grown and taken over the market, but the fact of the matter is that I had the Genesis so it was always my house that my SNES-owning friends would come to play Streets of Rage and X-Men. I guess I'll admit that Mario games were designed better than Sonic, but Sonic itself was a great alternative if you must compare them side-by-side. If you're not comparing them side-by-side then it's an amazing game on it's own. I think it says something that they haven't been able to replicate the amazingness of Sonic 2 since the day it was released. Sega didn't have games? They freakin' left the hardware business so they could just make games, that's how good they were. Nintendo is still worrying about hardware this and hardware that, and they come out with trash like Wii Music.



I never went to my friends' houses to go play... or rather, I guess it would be watching them play games such as Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy. How boring. Wasted nights of Pigskin Footbrawl, with matches so close that the troll never got sent in until the last minute were the point of the Genesis. How many friends did you have playing with your SNES? The Genesis was the party machine, the SNES was the solo machine. At school I could freely admit that I owned a Sega but my Nintendo friends would never talk about their dork-ass games. Did they want to be viewed as children? I believe that's why they could never admit it. While they were guiding a green dinosaur around crayon clouds, my Mortal Kombat had blood.



Was there nothing Blast Processing couldn't do?

This is a MM board. Of course we are going to have some bias towards H!P. Just like the Klubhouse is going to have bias towards AKB.



We have several fans of AKB here, so I don't think we're an entirely anti-AKB board. There are some tongue-in-cheek comments made about AKB here by certain sarcastic members (And if you go through their post history you'd see they make those comments all the time) but those few people are not representitive of the board. This. I don't understand why every time there's an AKB48 related thread, people jump in and tell us we're not allowed to say anything bad about AKB, we can only do a sugar coated comparison. Really? Come on, this is mm-bbs. We regularly complain about the members of the namesake group of our BBS. I'm not advocating outright bashing (whores, bitches, etc.) but some joking and some complaining isn't out of the ordinary here. There's no reason AKB should be protected from it any more than MM/H!P is every time a new release comes out. And like Eri has mentioned, this thread has mostly been pretty interesting discussion of people's personal reactions and opinons, not outright bashing.

I'm pretty sure I have a few responses in this thread, and my response to you was intended to point out the gross exaggeration of your statement that everyone here "hates" AKB48. I could have responded to Hana, I suppose, but yours was the more recent post. It's really nothing more than that.



Seriously, though, do you really believe that everyone here "hates" AKB48? Do you believe that even half of the regular-posting membership here hates them? I'd say it's closer to 1/8 to 1/4, with the rest either liking them to one degree or another or just not giving a fuck either way.
